Tried using cape cod after. Didn't do anything sadly.
I guess reading the instructions wasn't part of your normal procedure. As this product clearly states the following......
  • DO NOT USE on anodized, clear coated or plated surfaces
Apple uses a 9 step anodizing & polishing process that imparts a mirror finish. The grit size in this product is way too large.

Sorry you messed up your phone, hope this prevents others from doing the same.

Never said I'm not an idiot ^.

Anyways putting a skin on it has solved it, don't see anything even in direct light.

Do you have any recommendations on a skin? Looking to pick one up.
If you're able to install yourself I'd definitely say a BSE. It covers the sides and corners as well which is great. I'm not able to do it myself without royally ****ing it up so I got a zagg. They installed it in the mall. It's not bad, just would like the corner coverage as well.

Still looks great and is as grippy as ever. There are still a few bubbles but I'm pretty sure they will be gone by the morning.

I've attached a pic with the same lighting as the one I uploaded yesterday.

The Zagg skins are more clear than the ones I use for my phones. The ones I use are dry installs like DBrand skins.
I go to one shop in Hong Kong for all my phones and have been doing this for many years already. That is why it made it easier for me to go with Jet Black rather than Matte Black since I planned on getting the 3M skin installed on day one.

Here's a few comparison pictures with the matte black and the jet black in the local Apple Store. What is most shocking to me is that the front of both phones is equally scratched and I mean it is badly scratched. It's also interesting that the 6S devices have noticeably fewer display scratches than is present on the 7 devices.

The Jet Black was only put on display a few days ago though and it probably experienced a rougher life due to all the amateur scratch testing imposed by Apple Store visitors but I can't imagine what it will look like after a few weeks time.

Went to the Apple store not too long ago and the JB also had scratches like those, but they all looked intentional. Majority of them were only visible in a certain light angle also, so just imagine the smaller "accidental" micro scratches and how they would be harder to see. People are over-reacting to Apple's disclaimer for the JB model. Just use the phone and stop worrying about scratches :rolls eyes:

To me the Matte Black looks more like dark grey than black. Jet Black is true black.

Is the finish of the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus so much different from the black iPhone 3G and black iPhone 3GS?

Why so much attention is put on the phone being scratched easily? Didn't iPhone 3G also get scratched to some extent easily?

I know Apple were not wrong in forming before hand that the jet black can get scratched easily but it has been blown out of proportion that people are even worried to hold their jet black iPhones.

The JB iPhone 7 is polished aluminum. The 3G was just plastic. The 4 was glass.

Imagine the iPhone 6 aluminum body but polished. The 7 the same strength but the JB is polished for the glossy finish which is why scratches "show" easier.

There will always be "those people" that want the latest and greatest but their materialism make them cry about petty things and act like their world is over. Sure some people use the phone for more than 2 years but the majority of them upgrade so why not enjoy it while you can? Resale value? Fine, save a few bucks at the cost of enjoying your device, but don't complain about going naked and getting scratches, like come on... 1st world problems.

I guess you are right but the Iphone 3G and 3GS also used to show scratches while the white models would hide them.

If I was to get an iPhone 7 Plus and cover it with 3M protection like all my phones, I will always choose Jet black than the matter black. Matte Black is just a darker space grey to me. It is not all that different than how the Jet Black color is. This is why Space Grey is not there in the new iPhone 7 line up. It is replaced by Matte Black. I mistake by Apple.
[doublepost=1475658521][/doublepost]Guys if you wish to protect your Jet Blacks, there is one more option.

Check this out.

It is just the back protector like the Zagg ones being sold at the malls in the US.

Why do people say matte black is a dark grey? Have you seen the color in person? It is BLACK. compare space grey to black and you'll see how much of a difference it is.

Just finally got my jet black today when I opened it I had a tiny micro scratch out of the box didn't bother me so I bought an apple case with a slick wrap only to find the slick wrap to not fit with the apple leather case so I took it off... I think I added a couple more micro scratches when trying to insert in the case but whatever I knew what I was getting into ordering it either way still looks great in the apple case so I'm happy with it on top of that there's no hissing or yellow screen on it.

Under light is seems alot more like dark grey. In any case iPhone 7 should only have introduced with one new color "Jet Black". That too at only 256gb models to make them limited. This way there would not be supply problems.

Some companies supply back screen protection so as to use it better with cases. I have heard some people scratching their jet black phones when inserting and removing their case. It is always better to put the back screen protector before installing any case.

There is not doubt that the Jet Black models look nice and get alot of attention when you are using the phone. That and the new camera are easy give aways that you are using the new iPhone.

because we all care about what other people think about if we are using a NEW phone or not.
What happened to using and buying things you actually liked and not trying to impress other people?
The world we live in today....

Maybe under a flash but even outside in direct light it looks black. Flat black does give off a bit of a shine when a bright flash hits it but doesnt look grey at all imo. Ive had the phone for a week now. No way the color is similar to space grey

You are absolutely right. Today people care more about what others think about their things. People are getting more materialistic nowadays. Can't blame them. Do you know in Hong Kong a Jet black iPhone 7Plus was being resold by people in the market for nearly US $3,000 in the first few days. Today the prices have dropped alot but in the first 10 days the prices were crazy. Due to all the hype people started to realize that their jet black phones are like gold.

So freakin fresh! Have a silicone apple case on mine for now... so of course no scratches. I will occasionally use without a case if the mood strikes. I keep taking it out of the case to admire... LOVE IT! Worth the wait

Update: sorry for the pic quality... took the pic with my iPad

Nice. I like the ceramic watch but had it been in black and not white I would have got it. White will not suit me at all. I wanted to get the black Stainless Steel with link bracelet this year but still went with the silver stainless steel because i think I can use more straps/bands with the silver one.

May be next year Apple will introduce a Jet Black watch in ceramic?
