Nice. I like the ceramic watch but had it been in black and not white I would have got it. White will not suit me at all. I wanted to get the black Stainless Steel with link bracelet this year but still went with the silver stainless steel because i think I can use more straps/bands with the silver one.

May be next year Apple will introduce a Jet Black watch in ceramic?
Maybe next year they will!!! I'm convinced next years phone will be ceramic... also the pics do NOT do this watch justice. It has a iridescent, unicorn horn like color that shimmers in the light. Definitely not for everyone, but absolutely gorgeous

If you're able to install yourself I'd definitely say a BSE. It covers the sides and corners as well which is great. I'm not able to do it myself without royally ****ing it up so I got a zagg. They installed it in the mall. It's not bad, just would like the corner coverage as well.

Still looks great and is as grippy as ever. There are still a few bubbles but I'm pretty sure they will be gone by the morning.

I've attached a pic with the same lighting as the one I uploaded yesterday.

Can you use an Apple leather case with the Zagg? Will it peel off if you occasionally put the case on it for nights when you might need extra "protection"?

IF it is like invisible shield of the old days it should be fine.

I believe it must be an amazing color but white doesn't suit me at all. At least for my business attire.

[doublepost=1475659871][/doublepost]Couldn't be happier. Exchanged matte black for this black beauty. Much more pleasurable to use and hold. Not a single scratch. Don't believe all the hype. Just be careful and enjoy.

10/8 STILL NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH.
I was even stupid enough to put my phone upside down on Apple dock and thought for sure I had scratched the top. Didn't do a thing! Almost had a heart attack. Lol!

How is the area around the charging port holding up? Thats really the only spot that worries me, I can imagine the rim getting scratched to hell.

I dropped my phone this morning from about 5 feet from my jacket pocket and it landed face down on concrete after flipping. With my stomach in my throat, I picked it up and guess what?

Not a single scratch. Best phone ever.

Why do people say matte black is a dark grey? Have you seen the color in person? It is BLACK. compare space grey to black and you'll see how much of a difference it is.

because they haven't seen it in person or don't seem to know what matte paint looks like

Mines looks good. Though I clean it often with a micro fiber cloth.

Here it is next to my LG V20 -

And next to Note 7 -

IMG_0053_zpsnzppvxaq.jpg

Small micro abrasions but nothing major. I did however get a few small micro holes in the paint using a spiegen hard shell glossy jet black case that had paint imperfections in the interior of the case. Very small paint chips that caused slight damage to the back of the phone. Keep that in mind when using a case for jet black. Also keep in mind that dust mites that build up within the case will leave micro abrasions overtime. I've seen this happen with the matte models of yesteryear. I purchased a slick wraps glossy skin so hoping to get that soon.

Since you have both, how does the Note 7 compare with the V20? With the latest battery fires, I may be swapping and the V20 is one phone that has caught my eye as an alternative.

I'm actually a big fan of the V20. It's an audiophiles dream phone. Loud and crisp audio with true HD audio recording. In terms of build quality, it's solid. It doesn't have the wow factor of the Note, but it's got a beautiful display with little bezel, which adds to its character imo. The display isn't as bright, but it's super snappy and responsive. It's one fast phone! One of the reasons being it runs 7.0 Nougat out of the box. I've always felt like LG's LCD displays were slightly more responsive than AMOLED. It literally zips through everything. Quite comparible to iOS 10 on an iPhone 7 in terms of entering and exiting applications with blazing fast precision. I posted a hands on with the device on my channel if you want a closer look -

I tailgated today and participated in some gold ol' fashion debauchery without a case, with my jet black iPhone in my pocket. I danced a lot. Moved around a lot. And I did not get a single scratch or microabrasion on my phone. Once again, proof that you can do normal human activities like get drunk and tailgate and nothing will happen to the back of this phone.

Having read much on the debate of JB vs MB, I'm wondering if someone could give me a true and honest opinion, especially if you've tried both.

Some people seem to say the JB is "grippier" than the MB, yet some of the reviews and other people say it slides around easier in your hand. Why the disparity of opinion I don't know.

Ive got a MB on order from Apple, but (and despite the inevitable longer wait) I'm considering changing my order if the JB does indeed have better grip. I've got nerve damage and holding the slick iPhone 6+ isn't always the easiest. I've got big enough hands, the grip is fine, but because of the nerve damage I do get micro (and some it so micro) spasms and those cause the phone to slide about and occasionally I drop it.

I'm not bothered about scratching, it's a phone for gods sake, but having one that's definitely grippier would be a bonus.

So what do you say, in your honest experiences? Cheers.

I had the matte black on release day here in the Netherlands, its a soapblock out of the box, just like the 6S.
After 5 days of using the matte black, I was able to reserve a jetblack 7 online at the Apple website. So I swopped my matte black for a jetblack iPhone here at my local Apple Store.

Got this jetblack 7 now for about 2 weeks, still no visible scratches and the USP for me was the grip. The grip on this iPhone is the best Apple EVER made.

I'm glad you are happy with it. Grip isn't great on matte black but was putting it in a clear case anyway. I think if the grip is fine on jet black I would use it naked too and enjoy the look

its not even exclusively for the looks of the jetblack iPhone. I hate (but then really hate:confused:) cases, it totally ruins my user experience. For me the choice was simply the grip. Heck, the grip of the jetblack (out of the box) is even better then iPhones WITH some cases out there.

But I did really like the looks of my matte black iPhone.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'm not a big fan of cases in general but I've had to use my 6+ with one because otherwise it's like holding a well oiled eel.
I'd much prefer a phone with better grip I could comfortably use caseless, better than getting a nice slim phone only to end up making it thicker and bulkier with a case as i've had to do with this one.

yup. Your phone shouldn't scratch from moving around a lot anyway.

I can categorically tell you that the grip on the Jet Black is a lot better than the other colours. It almost feels like it's already in a case, which I love.
I have no pro-Jet black agenda, I don't feel any pathetic need to big up the colour I chose and belittle the ones I didn't.
I've always found the iPhone 6 and above to be a bit like holding a bar of soap, the Jet Black grips in my hands very nicely.
