I can categorically tell you that the grip on the Jet Black is a lot better than the other colours. It almost feels like it's already in a case, which I love.
I have no pro-Jet black agenda, I don't feel any pathetic need to big up the colour I chose and belittle the ones I didn't.
I've always found the iPhone 6 and above to be a bit like holding a bar of soap, the Jet Black grips in my hands very nicely.

Thanks, yeah I'm the same, never been able to comfortably hold a 6+ without a case. Well, I mean from a sliding around factor.
I like the look of both the JB and the MB. So decision time I guess.

I'm actually a big fan of the V20. It's an audiophiles dream phone. Loud and crisp audio with true HD audio recording. In terms of build quality, it's solid. It doesn't have the wow factor of the Note, but it's got a beautiful display with little bezel, which adds to its character imo. The display isn't as bright, but it's super snappy and responsive. It's one fast phone! One of the reasons being it runs 7.0 Nougat out of the box. I've always felt like LG's LCD displays were slightly more responsive than AMOLED. It literally zips through everything. Quite comparible to iOS 10 on an iPhone 7 in terms of entering and exiting applications with blazing fast precision. I posted a hands on with the device on my channel if you want a closer look -

Is it waterproof?

This isn't my experience. I find the jet black finish borderline slippery compared to the other colors. It feels like holding one of the older glass back designs without the benefit of the sharp stainless steel bands. I don't have any complaints about it, but it really isn't more grippy than the standard finishes in my opinion.

I have to disagree, I think it feels just a lot better and definitely less slippery than the finish of my 6s.

It's interesting that people have different thoughts on this. I have to say that either way it's a really nice piece of metalwork.

It won't matter to a lot of people. They're micro scratches so don't really show. Plus it's only the back of the phone.
I've sold iPhones before with scratches/chipped backs and they've still made a really good price. Generally as long as the screen is in good condition there's plenty of people out there still willing to pay.
Most probably plan to chuck a case on and will never see the scratches.

Yes it is interesting in fact because objectively it's just less slippery.

If you lay not phones on the palm of your hand, and then slightly tilt your hand more and more, at some point the matte finished version will just slight down while the jb still sticks and sticks and only then eventually starts to slip as well. It is a measurable difference.

Objectively, slicker, more highly polished things are more slippery.

Obviously every one is entitled to their opinion but I'm confident that any scientific experiment would prove with strong certainty that the Jet Black has more grip.

scientific experiment? I do not need one.....I have had all the iPhone's from 3GS and up (incl 6S). My jetblack iPhone 7 is the most grippiest iPhone (out of the box) Apple EVER made.
Sorry, but I do not need any scientist to tell me this haha.

I don't either, to me it is obvious and common sense. But there are others on here who seem to be stating otherwise. Therefore I just wanted to make the point that from a purely scientific point of view I'm pretty sure they'd find the Jet Black grips better!!

Guys. I just made a quick video for anyone who claims the regular finishes are more grippy!

The JB phone just feels so much better caseless than any 6s or 7 matte.
I dont feel the need of putting into a case. Not even because of scratches. I've been using it absolutely normally without any protection for 4 days now and yes, there might be some TINY scratches, but you really don't see them under normal light or conditions, and I couldn't care less about them!

You're lying if:
- you say the Jet Black doesn't get micro abrasions (think of swirls on a black car)
- you say the Jet Black shows more scratches under normal lighting conditions (it doesn't)
- you say the Jet Black isn't the grippiest iPhone ever made (it is, by a long shot)

How slippery is the JB when it's wet compared to a iphone 6 or even non JB 7? And by wet I mean if your hands or wet or sweating....

It actually grips better when your hand is slightly moist/sweaty.

Debatable. It's just as grippy as the iPhone 3G/3GS, but certainly more than any iPhones since then. If you've never had the 3G/3GS, you wouldn't know this (or you have forgotten).

Gotta chime in here. Had my phone since Wednesday of last week. Have been babying it like crazy. No drops, haven't set on any surfaces uncased unless on microfiber. Went straight into case, cleaned daily with microfiber cloth and I've blown any dust from surface prior to wiping; still have tons of micro abrasions all over the device. Not visible unless looking for them in direct light so I don't care all that much from a cosmetics standpoint, but still others should be aware this thing can get imperfections from just looking at it wrong.

I don't know how you naked folks are keeping your phone so pristine unless I just got a phone from a batch that didn't cure properly. Again, I think it's an absolutely gorgeous device and will take the abrasions as a trade-off of having it. Kind of annoyed I took all these precautions, think I'm just going to take the case off and start enjoying this thing to the fullest and write off and quit worrying about re-sale value.

Agree x3 as a fellow case-less JB owner!
