You are right the X is new and need more improving not working perfect yet the 8 8+ are so far the last iPhone that working right. its look like I will buy the 2018 X after fixing what ever need to fix

So the X is "not perfect" and "needs fixing"? LOL.

Listen, trust your Uncle James please. The iPhone X is the greatest iPhone ever created and you're hearing that from someone who loved and defended his iPhone 6 to the gates of hell. I snuggled and kissed my iPhone 6 every day, it was my constant companion, I loved it. "They'll have to tear it out of my dead hands!" I exclaimed upon hearing about the iPhone X and this crappy Face ID thing. Well. I was wrong. Very wrong.

The iPhone X is better. In every way. No need to wait. Then again, I sort of hope you do wait. This way there are fewer iPhone X's out there and I feel more special owning the best and the most exclusive iPhone on Earth.

For you, yet you still bought one.

No I didn't the X I really wanted it but the 8+ was a better chose for me for now, its not my fault that the APP not all working with the X I just made a point.
hope Apple read this comets too

Confirms my suspicion that the majority of X haters have never laid a finger on one other than maybe a few minutes of in store play time, which is meaningless...

I’ve only spent a couple of hours using a friends but I formed a few opinions that are good enough to me. Whether or not these views are in line with anybody else’s is meaningless to me. Again and again and again it’s personal taste that influences buying choices.

Agree and having an opinion is fine but why do some need to pollute every X thread in existence with the same comments over and over again? If someone does not like the X then cool, they should get what they want and move on with their life and allow others who have the phone to discuss it without their constant negativity.. I don't run around polluting every 8 Plus thread saying I think the phone looks dated......

I think it’s interesting how iPhone users are now so divided when it only used to be iPhone vs Android. I used to defend the iPhone to the death and now there are elements I really hate and it’s now commonplace.

I voice my opinion out of frustration, so where do you suggest we discuss the negative aspects and keep threads about hating the iPhone X nice and fluffy?

The question is who is doing the dividing? Like I said before, I don't jump into the 8 Plus threads and make derogatory comments about it. I let them enjoy the phone that they chose based on their own personal reasons..

It’s a mixture of a lot of people. There are those who make derogatory comments about the dated looking 8. The press have criticised the X in part and people like me are highly critical of its price. Not everybody is happy with Apples direction and I’m more than happy to share my opinion on that. If people like you don’t want to read opposing views then it’s your prerogative to censor it out.

I find most of the hate comical and entertaining to be honest. But to answer my own question, its the X haters who are causing the division that you mentioned. The funny, or sad part depending on how you view it, is most of the hate is form people who have never used the X, or they played with one in a store for a few minutes, or claim they had one but never really did. Most actual owners of the X are satisfied.

I've never owned a Plus because it's to large of a phone for me. Again, I don't run around posting that in every Plus thread in existence.. if someone chose the Plus they did so for their own reasons. Just because I don't understand their reason does not give me the right to derail every Plus thread by saying the same thing repeatedly.

Too many folks here who haven't any issues with the ton of threads praising the X, but take issues with the ton of threads that are negative towards the X. I agree with you, this is a discussion forum. If you don't like the myriad of threads that cast negativity on the X, then by all means ignore the thread. Or use the ignore button. It works wonders.

Oh I do... I block the constant cry babies who really have nothing of value to add or are just seeking attention but there comes a point where it gets overboard with the complaining. Threads like this? Cool, complain away as the Q was asked.. Other threads? Not so much especially if it comes from a non owner.

That’s great. I’ll be complaining until Apple release a decent iPhone at a reasonable price in line with what we were getting pre iPhone X. If they continue releasing half baked iterations of a 2014 iPhone for the mid tier, i’ll likely be unhappy for some time yet. I’ve run out of opinions on my 6S.

You might be waiting a while then...:D

I don't see Apple doing away with the notch and I see the X (including the pricing) as the direction Apple is headed in for at least the next few years. The notch may get smaller sure but that would be the only change I see for 2018 and 2019, if not longer.

I’m not bothered about the notch in terms of buying an iPhone. It wouldn’t prevent me purchasing it. The pricing is an issue though and if it means taking advantage of older models on cheaper contracts, i’ll do that. I did that when the iPhone 7 came out and didn’t regret it so it may just be what I have to do going forward.

Thats completely understandable given the prices in the UK. Heck I probably would not have purchased the X either if I was looking at the prices you pay..

It’s why unless you are in a Starbucks in central London, they are incredibly rare here in my experience. I’ve still only seen one since launch. Don’t get me wrong I could afford one, but I’d be looking at around £1450 for my current contract with an iPhone X. It gets to a point when I have to ask myself if it’s sensible spending £300-400 more for an iPhone that does exactly the same thing? Some can can justify it I’m sure, but I’ve got dependants and it would perhaps be a selfish choice. My wife lost interest in having the latest iPhone when the 6 came out and is of the opinion they’ve all got stupidly big. I wouldn’t get any sympathy if I bought an X lol. It’s still annoyed me though, I wouldn’t have minded trying it properly.

Yeah I just looked at Apple UK and the rough estimate for a base X is $1400 USD without even adding in the VAT. I also would NOT have purchased my X if the base was $1400 USD...

1K was pretty much the limit I was willing to spend on a phone and even then, I had to convince myself to do so. At $1400 it would have been a non starter based on the price..

Yeah it’s got a bit ridiculous here since Brexit with Apple products. The economy is growing and a few brands are jacking prices up. Credit to Samsung they don’t appear to have followed yet. A few people I know who are long time iPhone users have switched to Android as although unit prices for the S8 or Note 9 seem close in price to iPhones, on contract there are excellent deals. I just don’t think I could dump my Apple Watch and iMessage across multiple devices just yet. I’m getting tempted though as prices creep. It’s certainly a way to try current tech without having your pants pulled down.

Btw: £999.99 will be VAT inclusive. All our advertised prices include VAT. I know prices in the States don’t.

Ah gotcha.. Still a massive price difference though. Here my X was $1071 with sales tax -v- $1397 UK price.. I can say with complete certainty that I would not have purchased the X @ the UK price..

Jealousy breeds hate. :)

What kind of low income peasant gets jealous over a phone? Don't we give these things to 5 year olds now? I don't think this is the case...sorry.

And i'm not even an iphone x hater, I just don't care this time around.

What piece of Tech is perfect?

I know your question is rhetorical, but you are correct. No technology is perfect, and that includes Apple. But if there somebody that made a product better (Subjective term of course) than most other manufactures, I would say that is Apple, with the quality of materials, construction and of course the simplicity with the OS.

I believe as well that apple makes better products than the rest. I also trust apple more than any tech company. Its a belief shared by many many people. It's unfortunate though that this belief also breeds resentment. Some folks will defend apple to the death and resent other folks when they speak in negative terms in regards to an apple product or apple itself.

Agree! Apple generally has much better quality of materials than other manufacturers. Some are catching up quickly though and Apple has been slipping as late.

I am very critical of the new MacBooks for a few different reasons but I only post my comments about them in topic related threads. Complaining about an issue is fine as long as it's relevant to the thread. Some here feel the need to whine, complain or seek attention in every X thread there is.

Something like this:

Question from an OP: I am debating 64GB or 256GB thoughts?
Responses: That notch tho! - The X is to expensive, don't buy either - I played with one is store and hated the notch, Apple has ruined the iPhone so I am sticking with my 4S. Rinse lather repeat.

Eventually after reading though all the muck the OP will get some on topic responses but the thread is littered with rants that have nothing to do with the Q that was asked.

I've been accused many times of being and Apple hater in the MacBook area even though I have one and like them well enough. Apple made choices I am not digging so I mention them in relevant threads... I don't run around ranting about the MacBook KB or ports in threads where it does not apply.

Complaining in this thread is a-ok in my book though as the Q was asked. Other threads, not so much..

My .02
