how is the speed with RC2? hopefully things dont get slowed down with the release version coming tomorrow.

It is fast.

Safari Technology PreviewThanks for the testing. Can you try the Safari Tech Preview on your M2 MBA? When you say basic confirm, is that 8/256?
but how does it compare to VenturaIt is fast.

> 15 % faster on my MBA for Speedometer 2.1 with Safari.but how does it compare to Ventura
thru all the betas, and currently on the RC, sonoma is running really well here, and faster in some places than on ventura.Sadly, Sonoma is running like a bag of nails on my iMac. Just gone back to Ventura.......Voila! Running flawlessly. Maybe I'll give it another go with the final release tomorrow.
The Foundation rewrite is NOT in Sonoma. This is a long-term project that has only just begun. That's because Apple has rewrite the Foundation framework with swift, this helps to improves the performance a lot. Because when any calling to Foundation api, there is no need to go through from swift to obj-c, then back to swift. the wrapper was gone on sonoma, ios 17.
bear in mind that slight speed increases can happen in software, but your processor is still... your processor. don't expect miracles, ie 'crazy fast'....Is it crazy fast on 2019 MBP 16" Core i7?
so many variables. try rebooting, then running speedometer again...View attachment 2282065 I’m a bit bummed out about the score I just got in speedometer 2.1, after updating to safari 17 in Ventura my score went up to 487 from 440.
Now on Sonoma I’m getting 456 rather than over 500 like someone posted earlier.
Still getting around the 450 mark. There’s a ton of settings in the safari preferences under feature flags but I’m not touching them.so many variables. try rebooting, then running speedometer again...
How did you get over 500 on speedometer 2.1?It is fast.

I'm on the same, 16 GB, 4 TB ports, quad core i7, and I get 210-227.. it seems M1/M2s are just twice as fast by default. I run Safari after a cold boot and Speedometer 2.1 is the only page I load before testing195 for me when running BrowserBench. Is this normal, given I'm running an Intel (late 2020, 4 ports, i7)?
Yeah just like an oil change won't speed up your car, but it does feel different. I think the same here reading these posts.I have an M2 Pro MacBook Pro. Seems about the same to me.
