I just updated Sparrow to 1.2.1 and while sparrow is still in the notification center, the data option in the sparrow app is gone. Can't set it to push and obviously push no longer works. Anyone else run into that problem?

I just got the update as well. Just go to Cydia, Manage -> Packages -> Sparrow+ -> Modify (top-right corner), RE-install. It will then force a re-spring, then the PUSH option will appear again.

Hey guys, is there any way i can just keep my badges on, without have new emails pop up in nc and lockscreen??

Supposedly, just to go iOS Settings -> Notifications -> Sparrow and turn them off from there? Let us know if that works :D

Updated sparrow today and installed Sparrow+ after that. Working like a charm.

Well done, sir. That did it. Thank you.

aaww. This is wrong. Sparrow+ wont install for me. It looks like Cydia isnt finding the freemanrepo/repo. Great!

That repo has been up and down for the last few days. Just try a couple times a day, you'll get it eventually.

I can download the package and have the option to set sparrow as default client but I am not able to find any place to turn on notifications. Looked under iOS setting>notifications and there is nothing for sparrow. Any ideas.

Many people on this thread have had this problem. Read from page 3 and on for suggestions. What worked for me was going into sparrow, under Your account settings there should be a data setting. Set it to push. Then send yourself an email and when it gets there, don't open it. Re-spring and then go into settings ----> notifications and sparrow should be there. If that doesn't work, read the thread and follow some of the other suggestions.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I want sparrow+ (i.e., sparrow as my default mail app), but I don't want push. I've turned push off in the sparrow settings page, but it's still vibrating my phone every time a new email comes in. I've tried messing with the sparrow notification settings, but that does seem to fix it (and it shouldn't, since i think those are for when sparrow is running in the background and gets a new email).

help! i don't want my phone buzzing at me every 30 seconds!

thanks!

What's up with the Freemanrepo? Cydia can't seem to connect to that source for about 24 hours now.

I was able to pull it up yesterday for a little bit but not this morning. I have a sneaking suspicion that he turns off his server when he's not using it LOL. It seems it come back online when he wakes up in the morning LOL

I cant find that Data setting within Sparrow.
Its going to be under each account... So if you click on an email account you have on Sparrow if you scroll down there will be a section for data with options for push, 15/30/45 min fetch and manual. Obviously you want push in this case so you'll pick push. Do this for each account you want pushed to your phone.

Adding the repo and installing Sparrow+ did it for me. Now push works like a charm. Thanks everyone =)

Even after a completely fresh restore of 5.1.1, JB, and clean install of sparrow and sparrow+ I am not provided an option for push within sparrow, nor a notification option in the OS settings.

Any ideas? What version of Sparrow+ is the current one?

Thanks!

why sparrow? whats so great?

I'm a fan of Sparrow, so just count me as biased.

For one, it just feels more intuitive in use. It's basically completely built around swiping actions which if using one had just feels beyond natural in use.

It's also easier to manage your multiple accounts (mostly if gMail) than the standard iOS Mail app.

The only thing it lacks is proper push notifications, which with Sparrow+ is a non issue, making it a completely viable replacement to the standard Mail application.

2cents.
