For everyone who wants Sparrow 1.3 push service - uninstall Sparrow+ and install "Sparrow Push" from Cydia. It works.

Not for me. Re-installed, uninstalled, re-installed. Nothing shows up in sparrow settings, PUSH does not work.

Glad the dev is going to update Sparrow+ (for those still using Sparrow Mail).

After going back to stock mail (w/ Mail Enhancer Pro tweak) after using Sparrow Mail for the past couple of months, I realized that when it comes to immediate/reliable "push" service and having a "true" default mail app on the iPhone, there's nothing that beats stock mail app.

While Sparrow looks nice on the outside, it had it's fair share of issues and while apps/tweaks like Sparrow Push and Sparrow+ tried to address those, it still doesn't deliver like how a default mail app on a smartphone should. Until Sparrow gets the "green light" from Apple to truly act, behave and deliver like stock mail app....unfortunately it will always come up just a little bit short. It pains me to say this because I absolutely loved Sparrow - but you can't ignore it's limitations and shortcomings (at no fault of their own though).

I agree with HickDead

I use Sparrow on my Mac's and love it, so naturally I installed in on my iPhone as soon as it came out

I was disappointed with it from the outset and not just because of the no Push issue, I reverted back to the mail app within a few days

In Sparrow you can't rotate the screen to read an email or download a picture into your camera roll two things I would have thought most folk would need

Sparrow+ and Sparrow Push tried to fix the Push issue but currently neither work,

Even if they fix the Push issue, until you can rotate to read an email and download from an email, Sparrow will still be a second choice for me over the native Apple mail app

I do believe in the future if you want Push in Sparrow then you will have to pay for it, from wherever you get your push app from, time will see if I am correct on this:)

I disagree there. Stock mail also has a lot of issues and it is annoying that Apple did not fix them until iOS6. Think about adding attachements (not inly photos), hiding folders or creating shorts to frequently used folders. Instead of this you have to scroll down your whole folder list until you'll reach the sent folder. If you have more than one account and your internet connection is temporaryly broken, you'll always have to confirm a lot of warnings.

Over all, Sparrow fits my need and is a serious competitor of stock mail although they have to treat with a lot if issues because of the Apple store regulations.

Sparrow+ is working with 1.3

If you install Sparrow+ from the insanelyi repo, it only installs Sparrow+, it is not bundled with Sparrow Push.

After installing just S+, the push options return in your email settings of the app itself (go to settings, and then click on your email account, then click on Data, Sounds, Signatures etc).

I just tested it from my work email to my personal one, and the email was pushed instantaneously.

I am very glad I bought Sparrow for $1 today :)

My test email didn't come through via push, but just got one pushed through now. hopefully just takes time to set properly.

Is the insanely I repo safe to use? Had heard a few mixed things about some repos you have to add to cydia?

Thanks in advance.

This Sparrow Push is starting to really grind my nuts as I cannot for the life of me get it working!

Are there any limitation(s) preventing Sparrow Push from functioning, i.e. using a gmail account or are you required to remove all Push and email accounts from the stock mail via settings?

Like most things on the internet, be smart and be safe. That repo is for cracked applications. Nothing stopping someone from being malicious and injecting their own code into it. So use at your own risk.

All that said, the insanelyi repo cracked version did work for me as well. Took a little while but I just got my first pushed email.

Why are people installing a version from a questionable repo when the developer of Sparrow+ recently announced that a new version would be released in just a couple of days? Are some of you that impatient?

This is the Internet, you should know that "patience" doesn't exist here.

I tried sparrow+ as well as sparrow push individually from the big boss repo. I didn't get any data settings in the sparrow settings. Am I missing something?
