Thank you very much for the update. SpiderWeb version 2.2.2/60.9.0 for Mac OS X 10.6 32-bit (release 01/13/21) installs and runs flawlessly. In fact, SpiderWeb works so well that it is now my favorite browser under Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I use only two add-ons in SpiderWeb: uBlock0-libre-1.16.4.8 and the recommended GitHub Web Components Polyfill by JustOff. Unfortunately, the latter add-on can only be installed up to version 1.1.6. SpiderWeb refuses to update to the newer version 1.1.7 because it is incompatible with SpiderWeb 60.9.0. I can’t judge if version 1.1.7 brings significant advantages, I can only say that version 1.1.6 works fine so far.
Unfortunately, the included themes can no longer be used, because since the update SpiderWeb notes that they are no longer compatible. In itself, however, this is not a big problem, because the Basic Theme not only looks good, it also works best with SpiderWeb, but it is of course a pity.
1. Take the .xpi file of the Theme you want to use, open it in a zip application (I use BetterZip)
2. Do not unpack, but in the window that opens select the file called install.rdf
3. Using the contextual menu, open it in a text editor (I use TextWrangler)
4. Add this where it belongs:
Code:
<!-- SpiderWeb -->
<em:targetApplication>
<Description>
<em:id>{8de7fcbb-c55c-4fbe-bfc5-fc555c87dbc4}</em:id>
<em:minVersion>0.0*</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>60.*</em:maxVersion>
</Description>
</em:targetApplication>
5. Save (1st time)
6. Close window in zip application --> Save (2nd time)
7. In SpiderWeb/Add-ons Manager, remove the old Theme
8. Open new tab, drag the modified .xpi file to it
9. In Add-ons Manager select your newly installed Theme, restart SW
10. Enjoy.
Btw, this procedure can be applied to lots of Extensions that at first try don't work in SW, so you might be able to do that with your Polyfill.
