Intel MacBook is running BigSur for couple of months. I did some tests couple of days ago and TBW was barely moving after few hours of work, while my Mac mini m1 is creating ~~300 GBW per day.
edit:
If you are working with big files (movies, photos) than TBW can rise very fast no matter what SoC you are using. But if you are working mostly with text files, coding - it shouldn't generate hundreds of gigabytes per day. Just my opinion, I know
