Dare I ask whether your nom-de-plume owes anything to the superb (British) TV 60s series The Prisoner, starring Patrick McGoohan?
Yes, although somewhat indirectly. I have seen some of the original episodes but not all.

But I used this name because of an Iron Maiden song which used dialog from the series (the song being, of course, The Prisoner)
:D

I had sort of suspected that.

A brilliant series.

Anyway, my brother and I revered The Prisoner.

We watched it awestruck when it was broadcast again in the late 70s.

Oh god for a second I thought he had died
I'm still amazed that he's still so functional for someone his age. I last saw him at the Vegas convention in August 2018. I've seen him on TV a bit more recently. I'd also watched both seasons of Better Late Than Never. 1st season was better and their visit to Japan was hilarious.
was funny but them eating at the yakitori place (like much of that ep) was quite funny, as well.

If one looks at IMDB (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000559/ vs. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000638/), Shatner was born 4 days before Leonard Nimoy yet Nimoy passed away in 2015.

It is too bad that the TOS cast are all getting pretty old now.

Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) was at the convention (just signing and doing photo ops) but not on stage this time. Rumors were at the time that she had dementia as to the reason. :( I see https://www.eonline.com/news/959320/star-trek-s-nichelle-nichols-diagnosed-with-dementia dated a few days after that convention.

Re: Better Late Than Never, it looks like you can watch the Japan ep at https://www.nbc.com/better-late-than-never/video/welcome-to-tokyo/3085187. I'm guessing only those in the US will be able to see it and the rest might be geo-blocked. Unfortunately, you'll have to sit thru the ads. (I normally watch almost all TV via recordings on my TiVo and blow thru most of the ads except ones I'm interested in.)

The yakitori scene begins at ~12:38. When they learn about what they ate/are eating is funny. :) Oh yeah, of course they had to stay at a capsule hotel.

Shatner was amongst the cast. See https://www.nbc.com/better-late-than-never/credits/cast for the rest.

Not sure if folks were are of http://williamshatnertour.com/. It's a screening of Star Trek II followed by him being on stage w/some Q&A.

30 second "sizzle reel": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsLBpO83NM4.

He did come of the SF Bay Area earlier this year and I had a time conflict, but I'd seen Shatner on stage just a few months earlier at the Vegas convention. He's been advertising it at https://www.facebook.com/williamshatner/

Also, he'll be at Alien Con LA: https://twitter.com/WilliamShatner/status/1113863280500457473.

OT: April 5 was.... err... will be first contact day: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/First_Contact_Day. :)

Wired: We really need to talk about the plot twist shocker in Star Trek: Discovery season two

Note: The article contains HUGE spoilers for episodes for Discovery season 2, to and through episodes 11 and 12.

I actually missed the Borg connection, at first, probably in part because of the time discrepancies. Did anyone else miss that?
Kind of regret not getting cbs whatever it’s called now and not watching Star Trek. I’ve seen a few spoilers and the show sounds pretty good.

Haven't read the article yet but https://www.startrek.com/news/alan-van-sprang-interview touched upon the possible Borg connection (and yes, don't read it unless you're caught up).

It also dawned on me but I also didn't think so given that there was an Enterprise ep involving the Borg (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Regeneration_(episode)). Enterprise takes place way before Disco. And, the Borg have been around WAY before humans from Earth had space travel.

I am all caught up with Disco though (thru S2:E12).

OT: I found out about this today: https://www.trektoday.com/content/2019/04/deep-space-nine-documentary-in-theaters-next-month/

Tickets for What We Left Behind will go on sale Friday, April 12. Look to buy your tickets from AMC Theaters, Fandango, and on the Fathom Events site, located here.
It'll be in theaters May 13th. I'm not a DS9 fan so I'm not going to bother. That page and others I quickly found are very light on details.

Here in Norway we get Discovery on Netflix, which is kind of nice. :)

With time travel involved you could get a situation where the "proto-borg" escapes into the past (and into the delta quadrant), somehow...

Am I the only one who like Nemesis?

I liked Nemesis a lot. What I did not like was that it was the last TNG movie, the whole bold not bold (young Picard), and of course what happened to that crew member. I am not going into details to avoid any spoilers for people who haven't seen it yet.
Not my favorite ST movie, not my favorite TNG movie, but far from the worst (Generations/Insurrection).

I know which part you mean and i didn’t think it was necessary to do that either. I just thought it had a good story and a lot of cool action. I hate generations (for the same reason I hated what they did it nemesis.) And insurrection was just a bad boring story.

Caught several episodes of Star Trek Next Gen this afternoon on BBC America. Gosh that show is amazing. One episode was Remember Me, wow, impressive. Crew members start dissapearing from the Enterprise. I won’t spoil it. ;) I am completely assimilated! :D
