Plus, do a lot of people really pay that much attention to the story in any MMO?
-PN

I don't think so. Most of the gamers only rush the level cap to get 'epics' and posing stuff as fast as possible (at least that's what I've seen in WoW).

Ofc I don't read every single quest but I find it quite neat when a story develops. I hope SW:TOR will resort to this more than other MMOs.

This is what I could find:

Thanks,I was with the same opinion. Honestly I refuse to think that they will produce a MMORPG that requires the latest hardware on the market.

I doubt the specs will be too high, they want to get that lowest common denominator thing going on (see WOW), rather than the "is this what heaven looks like?" thing (see crysis, or something).
I'm hoping my 2010 13inch MBP will handle it reasonably well, hopefully I'll have a bigger hard drive sorted by the time it's out so I've plenty of room for a bootcamp partition again.

I'm so glad I found someone equally as stoked as I am for this game. Should be excellent!

Heard about it over a year ago and been praying that it'll re-spark my interest in MMO's.

Was a hardcore Everquest player back in the day, switched to EQII after a hiatus from gaming about two years ago and now have kinda stopped playing altogether.

High hopes for ST:TOR!

I think I read somewhere that there is no auto-attack? Meaning you always have to be using a skill rather than the normal hack 'n slash (like in WoW). I've never played a game with no auto-attack, but I think it would be kinda lame to always have to use a skill. Anyone know if this is true or not?

A recent RPG (Oblivion) I played you had to left click every time you wanted to wack something. ;) It will be interesting to see without auto-attack (based on your comment, not a comfirmation), if there will also be a string of buttons along the bottom of the interface for shooting spells or specific physical attacks. Of if physical saber attacks will be a matter of positioning yourself next to the target and just clicking to swing. I seem to remember something about being able to pick a spot to hit or was this another game?

Just watched the E3 Trailer... pretty sure BioWare should make all StarWars properties from now on!

This E3 2011 trailer is amazing, but I can't help but feel I've seen this before somewhere. (I'm talking about SW movie moments). ;)

I know i've read/heard about when the Sith apprentice whacks the Master to ascend but I hadn't seen it until that video... pretty cool.

I wish Bioware would make a Star Wars movie entirely of CG Cinematics like in the intro cinematic. That would be the coolest thing EVER!

Agreed. They've taken the visuals of lightsaber fights to a place that literally only ever existed in my mind. On top of that, there is no company, at least in the gaming community, that can develop such rich story lines as BioWare.

The story is really the only reason I will play this game. I could care about Clans and raids and what not. I really want a plot driven, rich story that I can discover even more about the Star Wars universe. That's the hook for me.

Preorder has kicked in *and* the number of preorders is limited. Don't miss out!! I chose Delux Digital download due to an included Training Bot and a STAP (transport vehicle).

Info has been added to the MacRumors SWTOR Guide or go right to the SWTOR.COM Preorder link

Reg Price= $60
Delux= $80

Got mine pre ordered. I really wanted the collectors edition but the only UK retailer are not sending out codes for the early access so I have resorted to the normal edition. Still can't wait to play though, hopefully this will last me years! Just pining for a release date now!

Which retailer in the UK has the collector's edition for pre-order ?

I found them all too expensive.... I'll just wait until there is a free trial and then keep playing after that. I don't care if its a year from now. I've been really excited about the game, but those are rip off prices.

Now that the minimum requirements are out, do you think the 2011 Mac Mini with the discrete gpu chip will be able to run the game in bootcamp/ Thank you!
