Mac system requirements have been added to the TF2 page

yeah pretty nice, so I guess now we wait.

If that was the reason they would of say in advance.

Agreed, but I am a bit pissed that they are advertising that the Orange Box is out for Mac, but TF2 isn't released yet.

All games are listed as being Steam Play. It was not like this last week. I have a feeling TF2 was supposed to come out today, but something happened at the 11th hour and Valve is rushing to get it fixed and out the door.

I think we can all understand if that is the problem, but again, it would be nice if Valve TOLD US what is going on.

You're new to Steam aren't ya? :p

Actually no. I am one of the poor fools who beta tested Steam back in the day. : shivers:

I stopped using Steam not long after it was officially released and only recently came back as I switched OSes a lot during college. Wish things were different, but alas. : sighs:

Yeah, you're new. My install goes back to Feb' 04, so I know the pain/job that Valve can bring

so going back to the OP thread... has anything actually been 'released' today? i don't see anything new on steam..

No, you misunderstand. I'm talking about the Windows beta. User since September 2003. :-D

Sadly, nothing has been released yet. If I had to guess, if we are getting anything this week, earliest will be tomorrow 3PM;latest would be Friday at 3PM.

I was a beta tester too. Get used to Valve time or get off the pot :p

Pure genius by Valve (Left 4 Dead 2/TF2) breeds eccentricities ;)

Sorry, just because you make good games doesn't mean you can abuse your fan-base.

Anyway, I assume we can all agree that the latest we will see anything is on Friday by 3PM EST right?

And just because they didn't release anything (they didn't even promise to release anything EVERY Wednesday) doesn't mean they're abusing their fanbase.

"Each Wednesday for the next few weeks we will release a new set of games playable on the Mac."

It's not going to be Wednesday anywhere in the world soon :p

If you want to get into semantics, they released new games every Wednesday for three weeks, which could be considered "the next few weeks". They never said the Wednesday releases would go on forever.

Or they're just running late. Apparently they've been late before ;)

Since you're willing to get into semantics... ;)

I pulled that quote from the promotional graphic on the Steam Mac home page. It was published last week as part of the Steam Cloud "set" of games. So I'd expect at least one additional week :p

I thought the whole "new releases every Wednesday" started with the launch of the Mac client, hence the three weeks. If not, my bad. :D

Guys and gals you have to relax. Valve will not release something that they are not 100% happy with. By the sound of things they were looking at releasing TF2 today but some snags came up. Let's hope they are sorted out soon for a release in the next few days or so.

I've got a quick question -- what were the Valve mac releases and when were they released? Thanks.

Portal was released around 3-4 weeks ago, it was the first game to be released on Mac. Right now, there is HL2, and subsequently Episode 1 and 2 for HL2. We all though TF2 would be released yesterday, we gots hosed.

Valve time.

I'm not overly disappointed nothing was released yesterday, because if I want to play a game, I'll play it on my desktop... Although I was slightly anxious to see what will be released.. My money is on the L4D/TF2 combo.
