24% of steam users are already running Windows 7. XP is going the way of the dodo. can't be soon enough

Of course it will eventually, and in time 7 will "go the way of the dodo", but XP is still the best performing and most compatible Windows OS out. Cutting off half your market is kind of daft though, especially for an indie game. As Crysis proved you can emulate DX10 effects in DX9 and get a performance boost.

I don't think Futuremark is going to be crying their way to the bank after this. It might even go full Unreal Tournament Black style, extend the free play, and extend the discount.

I'm buying a clan pack so it comes down to $7.50 a piece to fly around in space suits with friends.

Nice offer, until I see that only 4 out of the 6 games run on OS X, and I've already bought Machinarium for that price. Ought to buy them, just to support the indies, though.

But since this is a thread on Steam Weekly deals I would assume most have Windows running in order to take advantage of Steam...

XP support from MS ends this year. that means if you're a dev and need coding help than MS won't help you. I doubt you will see many XP games this year since everyone knows Microsoft's support policies and planned accordingly a few years ago

i've used every version of Windows since Windows 95. Except for Me. I dropped XP 2 years ago like an unwanted child. Even with Vista's issues i liked it more than XP

It's not exactly Steam, but MS is selling Arkham Asylum for $12.50 until March 1 on the GFWL Marketplace (even if you got it on Steam it still requires GFWL).

Seven game indie bundle for $10 this week. Or you can purchase them separately for $2 each.

For the frugal Brits amongst us it's a real $=£ moment (£10 here) so if you have any US friends who are willing to gift you it over.... But damn I bought this for £10. Seems like a good deal!

I already bought Empire: Total War, Shattered Horizon, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 recently.

I'll abstain from a nice meal out but I do believe I've spent enough money on games.

Toki Tori is on sale at 50% off until Monday. If you've got an extra $2.45 lying around this would be an excellent way to spend it.

Left 4 Dead 2, 50% off.
They also announced some of the new things coming in the update-
A Wicked Witch Bride!
A Gargantuan M60!
A Slashing Golf Club!
And Introducing The Fallen Survivor!
Meet 3 Left 4 Dead 1 Survivors!
New Game Modes!
With Steam Play it'd be a good time to get hold of this game whilst it's so cheap.

Nice! I almost bought this yesterday. A friend of mine has it and said, in hindsight, he would have waited until it went on sale.

I have it for the 360, but just may have to pick it up on the sale. I don't play the 360 online, just with friends on lan and these games aren't so great offline :)

Oh, man. I've wanted Left 4 Dead 2 badly for so long and now it's on sale! Unfortunately I live in Australia, so I'd be stuck with the 'low violence' version. Maybe I can find a way to move overseas within the next day.

A "low violence" version of a game based on zombies, guns and destruction? That's funny :D

It's worse than that. There is no Riot Zombie, bodies disappear before they hit the ground, there is basically no blood, no dismemberment, fire doesn't spread, and if an Aussie goes into any server, it censors it for everyone. I would have considered buying it for Steam Mac next month, but definitely not with all those changes. Hopefully Australia gets an R rating for games soon, and they re-release the uncensored version as R.
