you think were bad go to Engadget every last few posts about the iPad the typical Pc Trollers are basicly coming out and Cursing out Josh.

It's not really his to keep, is it? I'd imagine Apple just gave it to him for the Grammy's. Can anyone confirm either possibility?

For Apple to give him a free iPad is well with in the possibilities. After that stunt that will surely boast iPad frenzy. Not only that, that stunt beats any ad because people will wonder what is an iPad an Google it, end up in Apple's site.

Also, Apple can't sell it to him yet due to FCC rules... so I assume to a high degree it was a gift from Apple.

Did you see his wife when he asked her if she liked it?

He asked his wife if she thought he was cool, not if she liked the iPad.

It was actually his daughter. He had a running script before that where he asked her if being up on stage at the Grammys made him cool to her. She made a face, basically saying no. When he whipped the iPad out, he then asked if now she thought he was cool.

If I asked a question, obviously I wanted to find out an answer. If it doesn't matter to you, don't worry about it.

Surprised you would care about such a trivial matter. Especially to ask if anyone can confirm something that no one but Apple and Colbert know about.

I cracked up when I saw him pull that iPad (or prototype) out of his suit jacket -- LOL!!!!! Loved it, loved it!!! Topical, trendy....and a boatload of great free advertising for Apple!!!
I wonder if it was free advertising OR product placement by Apple.

Or?

They are both nearly the same thing. You can't get an iPad right now, so Apple has to place the product in Steven's hands for the purpose of getting mass advertisement for free. Steven's not getting paid for this. He practically beg Apple for this all week long on his show.

You're right I'm idiotic.

Maybe Apple said to him, "Here, it's yours, as long as you whip it out on television with 20 million people viewing." Either that or he told Apple he'll whip it out on TV with 20 million people if they gave him one. I'm thinking the latter.

To my knowledge this is the only time Apple has blatantly advertised something like this on TV other than their usual commercials. To me, that says desperation on Apple's part, I just like when Apple makes useful stuff and they meant something. I miss stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYecfV3ubP8

Anyways, I hope Apple gets the iPad right eventually, but for now, this is Apple getting lazy and greedy, and I truly hope Steve Jobs thinks Google is trying to kill the iPhone because Steve Jobs and company does their best work when they feel threatened and have something to prove.

Colbert and Jon Stewart both broke out the iPhone when it came out. So..I'm just sayin'.;)

lmao! You can thank Steve for that :)

Actually, being outside of North America proves it very difficult to watch Hulu to begin with. Which is why many on the other side of the pond (the rest of the world) could care less whether or not the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch can play Hulu.

Steve Ballmer, is that really you?

LOL! That is really cool that Apple gave him one. He had been begging/pleading/demanding one on his show all last week.

So I wonder... do you suppose Jobs is a Colbert fan?
