I ran the 14.4.08 full installer yesterday and confirmed that the issue was present in headphones and HDMI audio. After running the 14.4.10 full installer today, I'm not noticing it nearly as much, though it doesn't seem to be completely gone. You probably wouldn't notice it if you weren't listening for it. I haven't tested it extensively though. Might be a step in the right direction, at least.

I just go to Appstore and download the full installer, still 14.4.08. You get the 14.4.10 from Appstore?

Same for me too. Also (I could be wrong), I think that's the INSTALLER version number, and noting to do with the packages installed (just a hunch), but I would like to know, if anyone actually does know.

I ended up with build 18E2034, not sure what I had before.

18E2034 is a specific build for 2019 iMacs and it's older than 18E227. That's why I always tell to not use MojavePatcher with supported Macs.

If you want to download full installers bypassing MAS, use installinstallmacos.py and not MojavePatcher.

installinstallmacos.py is a tool developed by Pixar people and the nearest thing of an official downloader that you can get for full installers.

It is not showing through Software Update. Do wonder if it's just an updated package for updated MacBookAir. Only showing with installinstallmacos.py script on MBP11,3. Will check MP5,1 software update next week. Tend not to force install these types of releases unless there's a major issue with software update. Anyone experiencing the audio issue may want to at least give it a test on a SATA drive clean install and report back.

No, it’s a new full installer for all Macs and not Delta/Combo update. BridgeOS stand-alone packages were updated too, but it’s not important for us here.

You have to go to the MAS and download the full installer again. This will bring you the new build number.

18E227 brought the glitching back in full force. That was an interesting and informative diversion, but I guess it's time to move on to some other upgrades...

No audio stuttering in my 5,1 2x2’4GHz quad running 10.14.4 build 18E226, boot firmware 141.0.0.0.

Just as a continuation to this, as its been about a week + with the new new X5680's and there has been zero audio issues since in everything (Bluetooth, DP, HDMI, Lineout, Games, iTunes, Youtube, etc.) Just thought those who may still be struggling with this would want some longer term feedback.

I have a Mac Pro 4,1-> 5,1 with duel CPU tray. I recently delid my two X5675 and upgrade my Mac Pro with them. So E5520 too X5675. I can confirm that I do see audio struggling when E5520 is used. Audio struggling is GONE after upgraded to X5675. BTW, my system is 10.14.5 public beta 2 with Vega 56.

MAS isn't showing 18E227 through download on two different machines. I'm one of the "lucky" few to get smaller files majority of the time from MAS... "installinstallmacos.py" is the only way I am currently able to access/download 18E227 full installer.

Regardless, does not seem vital or important update to test 18E227 since I'm not experiencing this issue and so far have not been able to trigger the issue with dual X5690's.

I'm not sure how they decide who gets a small installer. MAS always gives me the latest full installer. I guess installinstallmacos.py is the way to go for you then.

TSIAlex....

Were you looking for someone with a vanilla 2010 dual cpu 2.4 ghz?

Please check if you have stuttering/static with audio cds and iTunes downloaded music. With my MP5,1 listening iTunes downloaded music, I have stuttering about 3 times a minute with some of the music, some people have a few seconds apart for anything. Never had from streaming, only from local saved files.

Dual E5620?
If so, do you experience the same reported audio issue?

yes it has dual 5620 - checked this with macCPUid

Just playing a cd and listened to music from itunes, using audio over DP to the monitor... all normal, no stuttering

ANy other tests to try? isn't there someone reporting sluggish graphics?
