I know there's plenty on Kickstarter, but after having lost more money that I care to admit on vaporware that never got produced, and since I am still waiting for projects that were supposed to deliver in 2012, I've really had enough of crowdfunding.

The snail mail took a while! I just received the USB-C to USB-A cable. I have plugged the rMB into my Satechi Travel Router which seems to be rated for 2A and the rMB is staying fully charged while I play a movie. So it looks like I now have several choices for cables and non-Apple chargers.
I will do some more tests with the rMB only partially charged.
No good! With charge starting at 57% it stays there when playing video. It slowly charges when no power-hungry apps are running. Coconut.app reports that the battery is not charging. So I guess I need a USB charger with more amps (as expected).

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a usb-c to 2x usb-c female - i want to be able to plug 2 usb-c devices in at the same time (power cable and hub..)

Cheers

Question is there a cheaper hub than the one apple sells for 80$?

All i want is to charge my phone and laptop at the same time :(

Here comes the Minix Neo V2 adapter, or might I say, docking hub!

http://www.unlockpwd.com/minix-neo-v2-usb-type-c-to-all-you-want/

This adapter is due for a late october release, should cost $89 and offers more than the Apple Digital AV adapter:

- USB Type-C for charging through the dock
- Ethernet Gigabit
- MicroSD card reader
- SD card reader
- Two USB 3.0 Type A ports
- HDMI (or VGA) port

All that in an aluminium case with three colors, silver, gold and space gray. Hip hip hip!

Cheap Chinese junk. Just read the latest Amazon reviews on this thing. I will pass.

UPDATE

Apparently, this seems to charge if you power the USB device. It will not charge correctly if the USB device requires any power at all, from what I can tell-even USB data sticks. But I have it working. Kind of defeats it's purpose, but it's not a total loss. I also have the Apple AV adapter which works correctly, so this thing is just a back-up at this point. It wouldn't be a tragedy, if this thing in the link was only $20.

How do I connect The New Macbook 12" to (2) External Monitor?
The monitors are Dell with HDMI and Display Port in each monitor. The problem is I do not find any USB type C hub that can connect 2 monitors. I will appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

According to the specs on Apple's site, they only support a single external display. It may not support Daisy Chaining.

So I went to check on my pre order for the hub plus...turns out they have delayed it once again till Jan 2016...no email or anything; needless to say I have cancelled my order and want to go elsewhere but it still seems none of these hubs even have a release date such as the anker and OWC one...I wonder why? Is USB-C hard to make accessories for or what? Very frustrating.

Finally, this is exactly what I was looking for. I hope that it will be well built and durable and allow high speeds with SD Cards.

Are there any products like this on the market (I like having choices)? I could go without a MicroSD card Reader and the HDMI/VGA port, but I definitely need the rest.

Lol. Their website now says February. But my prediction is that Hub+ will never see the light of day.

This is why Kickstarter is such a waste of time.

The OWC is the one to get. It looks a bit large, but good.

And it probably will see the light of day......maybe :)

But the Hub+ being delayed is expected. They all are about 5 months late. Without exception.

Yeah OWC one I'll probably end up getting. It sucks though, because with my particular monitor, it supports 1440p but only through DisplayPort and none of these docks seem to have that. And the hub plus is more suitable for on the go. Hopefully OWC dock will be out this year

Also, if i'm not mistaken, it comes with a 80W ac adapter which powers everything. This might come in handy for USB charging, if you have iOS stuff.

(I could be wrong about it. Too lazy to check the page :D )

Yeah that's a good addition, means I can chuck my charger in my backpack as and when I need it as a spare. I'm from the UK though so i'll wait for a UK version of this plug.

I used to have a thunderbolt to hdmi cable for my MBA in order to connect it with my TV.....so is there a way for the rMB?

Anyone got an update on when the Anker usb-c power banks will be released ? Its been a while now

Hub+ no longer - they are offering discounts as they can't produce it as there are issues with the mDP and the chipset or something.

Bummer!

How else can i connect my 27" Apple Cinema display?
The OCW hub is only HDMI and too big to carry around with you.
Not keen to ever to another Kickstarter campaign.

Hydradock seems to be the only one left that's promising. It has a mdp port

You need the Apple Digital AV adapter and a regular HDMI cable. However, I would suggest instead upgrading to El Capitan and using Airplay to an Apple TV if possible.
