Sorry, to be more clear :) Anker claimed that Anker's chargers would work. They specifically mentioned the 60W single port (US only) model and the 60W multi-charger that has a 29W USB-C port.

They don't yet offer anything higher than the 60W model with a single USB-C port sadly.

I wonder, what's the difference between this and a 250€ dock? Is this gonna support 2 external HDD none self powered.

The 250€ docks are Thunderbolt. This is USB-C. A whole different technology but at the end of the day both work. Though you can connect Thunderbolt screens to a Thunderbolt dock.

And yes, this one supports 2 external HDD and powers them, I've tried myself.

The Anker 60W multi-port charger works great. I have it and can confirm it charges the 15" MBP, Coconut Battery reports it as a 45W charger and it definitely charges faster than the 29W MB one.

Strange - when I plug my 15" into the Anker charger, Coconut Battery shows various things, but mainly 17.91 watts. Does your Coconut Battery actually show an even 45W? For what it's worth, I'm running the 10.12.2 beta, and there is a running discussion that this beta has screwed up charging/battery.

Thanks, so it seems besides the thunderbolt screen thing anything else changes in "real life use".
Too bad is not available in amazon Europe, I need something with at least 2 USB A, 1HDMI and 1 Ethernet. Don't need SD card or even power conection for the MBP.

Sorry the actual charge rate varies (as it does on any charger) but in the application if you click the "Battery Info..." button the bottom entry lists "Power adaptor: 45 Watts".

Someone posted and I've reposted this a couple times now. Please review this excellent research on both cables and chargers (there are two sheets):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vnpEXfo2HCGADdd9G2x9dMDWqENiY2kgBJUu29f_TX8/pubhtml#

At the time this document was created the Apple 87W charger offers the most power delivery, so you're stuck with the price if you need an extra one. I bought two extras to leave at the office and have a floater, and I have extensions cables already as a result of owning previous MacBook Pros.

For charging, I use this monoprice cable that is not in the document yet. I am using it with an Apple 87W charger and it is shorter than the Apple cable at 3ft but it passes 100W and syncs USB-C at USB3 speeds, not USB2 like the Apple cable:

http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15498

This 3' cable is out of stock at the moment, but highly recommended by yours truly as an Apple cable replacement.

I've been lucky then.
No problems til now (after 6 weeks). It is connected to my rMB 80% of the time so I've used it quite a bit.
I bought two of these last July, they've been working almost flawlessly: sometimes, my external display wouldn't turn on when I wake the Mac from sleep in 'clamshell mode'.
@objektør, I'm interested in buying an extension cord for this hub, can you tell us which model you got? Thanks.

Looking for a multi port USB-C power hub for my desk that can handle the 13 macbook and charging my pixel phone and perhaps future usb-c devices. 2 ports would be nice and a few usb-c

Obviously the computer would need to be in sleep state if you're charging with less than 87w.
I don't think this is the case. That 87W is supplied because these Macbooks can have several iPhone and iPads charging off the ports.

I have a 15" MBP and I work all day from an Innergie/Delta 45W USB-C charger. My devices charge off a powered USB hub.

Yeah, the provided charger needs to be big enough that it can support the maximum load the laptop will ever see. That's full brightness with the CPU and GPU pegged, with the maximum number of peripherals connected. In practice it will usually only need a fraction of that power, even when in use.

My rMB comes with a 29W charger, but it will charge off a 10W charger while in use, and a 12W usb-c charger I have in one of the outlets in my kitchen actually charges it pretty fast.

The Belkin TB3 dock is up for pre-order on Amazon UK...The pricing is in line with Apple's pricing of the 2016 MBPs :D :D :D

Only usb 2.0 I'm afraid. Works with my 2560x1440 monitor, Elgato eye TV and usb 2.0 flash.
My Seagate HDD 3.0 doesn't work with the extension cable. It works with the hub directly so I assume it's the cable.

I bought another cheap one ($5) at E-Bay that works.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/252558750453?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

This one works fine with usb3.0 but it didn't manage to drive the monitor.

I don't need my usb 3.0 HDD very often so I use the Amazon cable when I use the monitor to watch TV or films from a usb 2.0 flashdrive. Power delivery is fine so altogether I'm quite pleased.

Hey all,

Will this charger work with the 13" Touch Bar MacBook Pro, does anyone know?

https://www.amazon.com/Innergie-USB-C-PowerDelivery-Technology-Wrap-Around/dp/B0188PAD00

Thanks!
Yes, it works. I run my 15" MBP off that charger on a daily basis. I consider it to be the best third party charger at the moment. Innergie is a brand from Delta, the company that makes benchtop lab-grade power supplies. It has a captive cable so you don't need to spend money on a separate cable either.

Nathan K. also wrote a nice review on this charger. Highly recommended.

update
for some odd reason now the amazon extension cable suddenly recognizes my usb3.0 HDD and flashdrives.
Don't know why and how stable it is or how long this will last. I could transfer files directly from the flashdrive to the HDD.

The other day I bought the Belkin USB-C to Micro-B cable in order to use it with my existing Seagate Backup Plus external drives, all of which use Micro-B. This works just fine and that way I can plug my 12" rMB into one of them for backing up, updating, retrieving something from the drive, whatever, and not need to use any sort of adapter as well. Of course this does not allow for the rMB to be charging at the same time; for that I would need to use the Apple adapter or something else such as a hub.

Thanks for the information, I'll probably wait for more cables to be released. I've read here and there that extension cords don't comply with USB-C standards, but if there is one that fit my needs, that would be perfect. I'd use mine to connect to a 1080p projector, USB drive, ethernet adapter, audio out, and charge the 12" MB. And I need ideally a 3 meter long cable. So maybe I'll end up buying this with a longer cable.

Yes, the extension cables aren't there where I would like them to be (as so many other things...).
I looked into the Plugable dock for a while ago. It is a bit of an overkill for my needs (and wallet). I believe they have a longer (6ft?) usb-c cable for that dock.
There is an other dock that seems to work well: call digit. But both of them need powersuply which is unpractical for my use.
The ideal would be the Caldigit mini-dock but I believe it was never released because of problems with stability or not enough power from the rMB port.
Or the Marble dock/charger but it seems to have the same kind of trouble.
That's why I bought some temporary cheapish solutions that fit my needs for the time being.

For info I just got below USB-C hub :

AUKEY-USB-C-Hub-HDMI-4-Ports-USB.jpg

And I get tons of disconnected HDD events for no reason.

Plugged one on my disk on a simple USB C to A dongle, no disconnect for now

Probably comes from this hub...

So hello there,
I didn't wanted to start a fresh thread on this but I ran in some Problems.
So the goal over here is to build a minimal Setup.
I read about the Microsoft Lumia Dock, which can charge the Macbook trough a single cable.
Also there are 3xUSB Ports, 1xDisplayport and 1xHDMI Port.
It's almost the perfect dock, but for some reason I can't get a image out of it. Doesn't matter if Dp or HDMI, there is no Signal coming through.
Some other people in the internet claims that it works fine for them.
Can someone help me out with it?
Thanks

Wow, too bad it does not work :( , would be perfect for me
Note : regarding the above USB C hub, I didn't manage to drive a 4k display(LG 27ud88) at 4K with the hdmi either (didn't try for very long, so using USB C cable provided with the display to the MBP)

Indeed, the Plugable dock is a bit expensive, especially in Europe (about twice the US price in France). There is this hub from Satechi that looks nice, but it won't be released in Europe, apparently.
I wish there was the same hub as Aukey's with a "USB-C out" plug instead of the short cable sticking out of it.
