Had to call TM today to see where my order is from 9/12. I never received an email for shipping so decided to call. Label was created yesterday and will be delivered on Monday. I ordered the gold but saw the purple in a store today and I must say that the purple is very nice. Sort of like grape, but not.

And after waiting there for an hour, they did not have the models I was looking any more.

On phone the store rep told they could help me transferring the online order to store. After waiting in line they told that they cannot help transferring their online order, nor could they help cancelling the online order to allow make a new order at the store. Rep advised to cancel the order myself by calling them and then get back to see what phones they might have. Apparently phones trickle in to stores around noon (while my launch day order is postponed to end of October).

What is wrong with T-mobile?

Went to another store today. Again, they had the phones I wanted. After I explained that I need help moving the on online contract to store to buy the phones and new lines, they went to backroom to double-check and apparently phones had just been sold. Is this something reps do to avoid spending tons of time with internal bureaucracy without getting sales commission?

Queued on their phone support for 2 hours and finally got my online order cancelled.

T-mobile did not get a new customer, their reps wasted a ton of time, I wasted hours.

I checked in setting and I can take ProRes Pics after all.
Are you serious?! I got the 128G… I have the 2 TB iCloud storage plan included in Apple One. We can’t take any 4k ProRes pictures?! I mean I have the space since I have iCloud storage 😭

taking pictures should be ok, I'm talking about 4K ProRes video recording though, needs at least 256gb storage to unlock the option.

This is what I’m understanding as well. It seems crazy.

“Credit comprised of (i) Apple instant trade-in credit at checkout and (ii) T-Mobile monthly bill credits applied over 24 months.”
Did you end up using this promo? Did the deals stack? On the website, it seems like you can only choose either the carrier deal or the Apple promo.

Which did you select?

I believe the T-mobile bill credit amount are adjusted based on the apple instant trade-in value. Thus the deals stack up, but the total value of the deal is not what you think.

(This is based ordering online and seeing part of the trade-in applied at checkout and part as bill credits over time. Amounts total to what T-mobile advertised as trade-in value)

So would there be any additional bill credits? I’d be trading in a 13 Pro (and I’m on Magenta Max). I know the $1000 bill credits would cover the cost of the phone, just curious how the $600 Apple Trade in would play into it?

I ordered a new tmobile iphone 14 pro max 256GB DP about 6 days after launch day… orginailly said 9/29-10/3 estimate… changed to delivery 9/20 over the weekend. Maybe they had more available than expected due to the ordering cluster on day 1.

This was a migration of two devices (older iPhone 8 and 8 plus) and the best I could muster to move the lines was 785$, without trade in getting essentially a BOGO plus a small kicker of $85 for trading in the iPhone 8 (not trading in the iPhone 8 Plus).

Couldn’t manage to get any additional amounts or get the full $1000 with just two line migration and the one simpler phone trade in. Overall though, I’ll save about $600 a year in lower premiums or bonuses that i can use (I wasn’t even getting 5G with ATT before and had a pretty cheap plan) things like free apple tv+ and two user Netflix Both of which I pay for now. Getting free travel calling and data and some free inflight WiFi usage will just add to the savings. In the end, ATT coudln’t offer me anywhere near the same discount (after having been a ATT wireless customers now for 29 years) and couldn’t offer their 55+ service discounts (forget about other promos) outside of FL.

As I understand it, if you go through Apple and they decide your trade is worth $600, then they take that amount off the EIP at the get-go, and then your credits are for the remainder. This is why via Apple you only pay sales tax on the difference between new phone value and trade in value (in my state).

I had this problem too.
Call support and have the EID # (found in Settings -> General -> About) ready to give them.
They will take that number, do something on their side and then you will be able to activate the esim at that point.
Only takes a couple of min.

Shoot... Running into an issue here and I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with the same (or not, which would also be a good data point for me).

Essentially my mom and I have two lines on a Magenta Max 55+ plan. I was able to order my 14 Pro Max via Apple using the T-Mobile EIP deal - it told me I was eligible for the full $1000 trade-in value for my 13 Pro Max while keeping our existing $100/month plan. Awesome - looks like that is already reflecting in our account, too. All well and good.

Now, today I am trying to order her a 14 Plus for her birthday. It is telling me that our current plan is ineligible and we will need to upgrade all lines to the $150/month Magenta Max plan to qualify for the full $800 value on her current XR. Otherwise, if we stay on the current plan, it'd only be $400.

Anyone else seeing this? Was it just a fluke that I was able to skrt by getting the full value for my 13 PM and they've since corrected that 'error'? I ordered right when the T-Mobile servers went live to check for trade-in status from Apple.

Edit: Just searched the forum on 'Magenta Max 55+' and seeing a lot of people with this issue after the first couple days of pre-orders. Guess I'll have to see what the trade-in value of her XR would be through T-Mobile. I don't trust the whole 'order it with the $400 promise and they'll change it to $800 after you get your phone' idea that I read the T-Mobile Reps promised to some Redditors...

Lots of reports of Apple not recognizing the 55+ Max plan as eligible. Same occurred for me a week ago.

I placed my order via T-mobile instead and it was smooth. I'd suggest you go that route.

Tmobile had me order using the more expensive magenta max plan while staying on the live chat to make sure the order went through and my 55 plus plan didn’t change . It took an entire day of being on the phone with Apple and Tmobile before I finally got someone on Tmobile chat that actually wanted to help . Tmobile even asked why I wanted to purchase from Apple instead of them . … I’ll keep an eye on my plan now for the next few billing cycles to make sure they don’t try and pull something

Has anyone successfully canceled their online order from launch day and received a refund promptly?

Nobody can tell me when my phone will ship. Thinking about canceling and ordering through Best Buy.

Originally Placed order on 14th - 14 pro max 128gb and later chose to cancel (because I decided to go with the 256gb instead) Order was still in pending status (Backorder) when I called to cancel - was confirmed over the phone by an order specialist that the order was indeed canceled.(This was 2 days ago) So last night I received an email that the supposedly canceled 128gb is preparing to ship. On the phone half the day with them today, and of course it is too late for them to stop the delivery - so now I have to take it to UPS tomorrow once delivered to be returned back to shipper. It's been a nightmare with them all week regarding this. The agent stated today that the refund would be restored back to my account once they received the phone back - I said no way, It's not my fault you guys messed this up - talk to your supervisor - I want my refund asap please! So on the phone with them half hour later agent said they are refunding me an advancement within 48hrs of today. We'll see how that goes... I've been beyond patient with them all this week, but today was the last straw.

Also on the Max 55+ plan. Very disappointing they are not doing this plan with Apple for the $1000 total credit. They ARE doing it directly with T-Mobile, but I am having trouble understanding what my actual bill will be each month. I guess I’m being stupid, but it seems I will be paying them an amount above the plan cost each month for 24 months - even if I buy the $999 phone and get a total of $999 credit. Makes no sense to me.

So, I work for T-Mobile. And, the way they do it for some reason is they give you the fair market value for your phone up front. So, let’s say your phone would be worth $200 as a regular trade in with no promotion. You would get that $200 at the time of the sale to help with taxes and accessories you might buy. If you don’t use it all, the remainder gets credited to your bill. Then, the remaining $800 would be split up into 24 months worth of credits towards your $1000 phone. I’m not a huge fan of it, but that’s the way they do it. Hope this helps explain it a bit.

Thanks for the explanation, really appreciate it.
Maybe you can help me understand my particular situation.
With the screenshot, it says I would pay $8.95 a month for 24 months. Does that mean $8.95 over and above my regular plan charge? Or am I missing something? Feeling really stupid right now 😩

Bump.
Anyone know how this works?

Yes. The total benefit of the promotion is $999.99. This will be given to you as a $215 one-time bill credit in addition to 24 monthly bill credits of $32.71.

215 + (32.71 x 24) = 999.99

Your phone would have cost you $41.67 per month for 24 months, an additional charge to whatever your service costs, but that aforementioned $32.71 will come off the $41.67 to make the net cost to you $8.96.

41.67 - 32.71 = 8.96

That $8.96 will be added to the cost of your service plan for the next 24 months, and then your phone will be paid off. Does that make sense?

Thank you very much! Makes perfect sense. Really appreciate you answering in this much detail.
I guess they do it this way to make sure you hang in there for 24 months, no surprises there 🤬

That may be the case when doing a trade in-store for an in-stock phone, but wasn't the case when preordering. I paid tax on the full amount of the new phones. With Apple the trade in credit was taken off the total and tax would've been on the difference. Unfortunately Apple chooses not to recognize the 55+ Magenta Max plans as valid for the promo so I did my order via T-Mobile.

@Cinimod1000 the program is intended to keep customers with T-Mobile and keep them on the higher tier service plan. So they spread the rebate out over two years - your bill goes up but is then offset by credits. You shouldn't end up paying any more than your current bill, though you would pay sales tax up front. At least it's just 24 months and not 36...

Doh!… after all that planning to migrate to t-Mobile from 28 years at ATT, phones arrived, started to setup - numbers didn’t port so a new number was assigned and have to get porting done separate..ok, not TOO big a deal, but….

There is essentially ZERO T-mobile coverage for calls or data at my HOUSE!… I can’t believe that in todays cellular world, on the peninsula of the Bay Area, in a very nice town I can find a total dead spot where there is useless coverage.

Was actually getting excited to save some $600 a year (55+ plan) and get some additional perks as well - oh well.
