Order placed for 10S Max SG 256GB @ Sep 14 3:58am EDT by phone.
Order confirmation stated "Estimated shipping date: 9/21/2018 - 9/21/2018" but for some reason the order status page shows this odd "Ships by 9/14" status and it's still showing "in progress".

Card was charged today (Sep 18) at 11:15am EDT. No tracking info yet.

Anyone else have this odd ship date or seen anything like this?
I’m on the same boat as you. Ordered 12am on 9/14 checked out with 2 day shipping. Still says “being processed”

has anyone seen any movement on ship dates of 9/26-10/09. ordered max 9/15 at 8:30 am.

ps: any chance I can get it friday?
I ordered mine yesterday and those are estimated shipping dates but I was charged earlier this morning so I’m not sure if that’s a good sign

Folks, we will begin to see movement late tonight or tomorrow. I was not offered any shipping methods on 9/14. My Tmobile receipt says ground shipping, but UPS my choice has me down for 2nd day air. Customer service does not have any other shipping info other than shipments will begin on 9/21 (because that’s when the phones go public). Obviously there is more going on behind the scenes at the fulfillment center. If there wasn’t my ups my choice would also say ground shipping.

This happens every year and people who pre-order early get their phones on launch day. If you’ve been charged there is a phone assigned to you.

Sure phones are being assigned but there's still a lot of us that have UPS Ground shipping appearing in My Choice. There's no way the Ground shipping folks are getting devices on Friday or even Monday, I simply don't have that sort of faith in T-Mobile.

From past pre-orders, it doesn’t seem to matter. There are so many iPhones going to every state, it wouldn’t make much sense to sort by shipping type. UPS/FedEx just seem to have a goal to get all phones on hand to their delivery hub by launch day.

Does your show a "Ships by 9/14/2018" as well?
You mean “ships by 9/21?” Yeah haha I checked out with 2 day shipping too and got charged Sunday morning with IMEI displayed Monday morning

UPS and FedEx don't have a different special process for iPhones. A box with a shipping label that has an iPhone in it is treated the same way as a box with an identical shipping label that doesn't have an iPhone in it. If T-Mobile are really waiting until tomorrow or Thursday to start shipping out phones, UPS are just gonna pay attention to the shipping label and that's it. If it says ground shipping then that's exactly what they'll do, ship it via ground.

With that being said, I really do want to believe you because I want my phone on launch day... I just don't have much faith in T-Mobile now that they've already printed my ground shipping label.

So, aside from Nate and a few others, who else here was around for iPhone 7 Pre-order Forum?

Been lurking this time around but I was the one that created the survey for the iPhone 7 preorder thread. That whole launch was a disaster!

Preordered a XS SG 64gb this time around at 8am est and looks like I’m gonna have it launch day no problem.

iPhone launch day is an extreme outlier to their daily logistics. They absolutely need to prepare for it. I pre-order every year and I’ve never seen shipping type make a difference for those who order in time. It was the same ordeal with the iPhone X last year - many people even requested refunds if they paid for next day shipping, since everyone who ordered in time for launch day received it on launch day, regardless of shipping type.

Well, that certainly inspires confidence. Thanks for relaying the info. :D

Interesting. When I look at the screen in the app you show I see the same thing but if I look on the web or click on that status in the app it shows "Ships by 9/14" for me.

All I can say is wait until you get an origin scan. See what happens then. You'll know your shipping speed for sure at that point. I believe origin scans will start overnight tonight and tomorrow.

Flashback to 6s launch. This is what happened to me when UPS showed it ground. It came one day early - Monday. And I was mistaken - I thought they had sent it 2nd Day — and T-Mobile charged me $14.99 for expedited 2nd Day. UPS doesn’t just say “oh we have a bunch of iPhones - throw them all on that plane instead of separating the shipping type.” I mean if you guys that have ground get them Friday, I’m rooting for you.
