At least the new phones support the 600mhz band from what I see in the tech specs. I am on JOD, if they try to make me put a down payment on a base Xs like they did last year on my X I am gong to go ape****, or just not upgrade. I am going for a watch for sure, pretty ticked off at that price jump, so it might come to that.
To avoid you going ******* in a store, I can pretty much guarantee you having to put the same type of down payment this year. Same price phone, and $0 down will be for well-qualified customers with 3+ years tenure.

They can (obviously) disseminate information stating otherwise this year, but we’ve been putting out news about the changes to JOD since last year (with the last changes hitting with the Note 9 launch) - just trying to set the right expectations.

Anything remotely competitive with iPhones on the features/camera/power side come with similar prices, tbh.

You must be joking right? Samsung galaxy note 9 it’s camera is better def not worse same whistle n bells. Samsung 128gb with expandable memory $999
It’s... $1000. That was my only point.

Thats the part I don't understand, I have been a JOD customer since it began, and we are "Well-Qualified" as far as I know, so I don't understand why I had to put a down payment down. I can promise you they won't be getting it from me this year.

I did apple upgrade program pre approval for the mobile. But since iPhone x came out in November? Don't I have to pay the extra for 12
Months total for my.iohone x?

$0 down for the 64GB X was offered to well-qualified customers with 3+ years of tenure... both criteria had to be met. Care should be able to clarify your situation, or any corporate retail store. I do agree that it got a bit confusing as the program matured and underwent changes.

I’ve never been a fan of JOD, personally - it has to have been a money-loser for the company.

I was a fan when it first started, but now I don't think it is worth the hassle. I will be getting out of it sooner or later. How do you find out if you are "well-qualified" or not? As far as I know we are. We have 12 lines...... Threatening to take them elsewhere pretty much solves all problems we have with T-mo.

Care (611) should be able to tell you... now, with the $0 down, it went beyond being “automatically” well qualified by virtue of your tenure - from what we were told, it actually takes into account a customer’s credit. (This is a completely different discussion around T-Mobile and their financing, risk, loss, etc. Suffice it to say, they’ve done their homework and have identified amounts they’re willing to risk in this age of upgrades and carrier swapping left and right)

As far as leaving, that isn’t handled in-store... Customer Care only. Depending on how long you’ve been a customer, you can call our Loyalty Department and see what options they may have for you. I certainly understand the frustration, but do keep in mind the entirety of your account and billing before making decisions out of anger.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably give them a ring tomorrow so I at least know what I am getting into before Friday morning. I am not going to switch (yet), but the threat has taken care of every issue we have ever had, from trying to charge us for a replacement SIM card for one that was defective, to the iPhone 7 preorder debacle when we had our phones sent and got them on time from the president's department. I am guessing that the number of devices we have on EIP and JOD is part of the issue, but when you have 12 lines that is part of the deal. I am sure I will be able to get a resolution, last year it was just to crazy for me to get into a fight about it. Since I am getting a regular Xs in Space Grey I don't anticipate stock issues and will be able to take my time and get it sorted out.

Absolutely... particularly if you’re going into a store (that’s where I’m a manager, but I’m sure Care is similar in this regard), we’re not policy makers and we genuinely want to help customers in any way we can. Hell, most of us are customers as well. (I’ve been with them since ‘97)

Defective SIMs can absolutely be replaced in-store for free, btw. Defective, not damaged.

It'd be nice if Johnny boy didn't just tease the $300 promo and actually told us the details rather than just letting us sit here and wait.

Pretty much the norm. I feel like they usually wait at least until the day after the keynote to reveal pricing/deals.
The longer they wait- the better it probably will be so it gives less time for ATT and VZ to copy them,

I called 611, it's both EIP & JOD. They don't have any other info yet like per month pricing. But it's for 3 years plus customers only the $0 down. Don't know if it's just XS or both XS & Max. They don't have that info yet either.

XR only.. I guarantee it!!!

I'm a current T-Mobile customer with a 6S and want to order an Xs from the Apple store. Does it make any difference whether I get a T-Mobile or Sim-Free version?

...and with a trade in.

I don’t go off of tweets, and Care doesn’t get info any faster than we do in Retail.

We don’t do subsidies, since there are no more service contracts.

Regular financing (EIP)? You can figure out the down payment: price minus $720

Very happy that the IUP is available online for customers wanting to go that route.

How does that work if you don’t own the phone outright? And what’s the benefit to it vs. TMo ordering? I’m a JOD customer with a X that I’m leasing.

Side note: does anyone know how using apples upgrade program yo avoid a potential large down payment works with JOD? Do I just pay apple and then hand in my phone to t mobile as usual?

I should’ve kept reading. LOL

Does anyone know how the T-Mobile iPhone Upgrade Program works? I got an iPhone X 256GB last year and I was automatically enrolled in this program. According to the support doc. it says that you can upgrade to the new phone (as a one time offer)...

So would I just have to pay the difference? Or do they give you some type of credit towards to the new phone?

Supposedly you start a new EIP for the new iPhone and then trade in your old one. Your old EIP gets zeroed out. TMo enrolled me as well, but I paid $429 down + taxes for the same phone as you. So I have paid way more than 50% already since all I have left on my EIP is $420. I'm debating keeping the X for now, but I have the upgrade bug and the Xs Max looks tempting.

It's basically a one-time use Jump on Demand. Quite frankly, it sucks.

All they'll do is zero out your balance on your old phone, as long as you've paid off 50% of the EIP. The catch is that you'll still be forking over hundreds of dollars for the down payment on your new device.

Doesn’t make a difference. T-Mobile Version just comes with a T-Mobile nano SIM card vs no SIM card.
