Side note: does anyone know how using apples upgrade program yo avoid a potential large down payment works with JOD? Do I just pay apple and then hand in my phone to t mobile as usual?

...and with a trade in.

I don’t go off of tweets, and Care doesn’t get info any faster than we do in Retail.

We don’t do subsidies, since there are no more service contracts.

Regular financing (EIP)? You can figure out the down payment: price minus $720

Very happy that the IUP is available online for customers wanting to go that route.

Subsidies could still be like the iPhone 7 deal though? iPhone 6 or 6S for a "free" 7 w/ trade in credit and bill credits to wipe out remaining monthly balance for 2 years?

The price will undoubtedly drop for remaining stock, just not today... the announcement was only 2 hours ago.

I have seen T-Mobile drop prices, for the good and somewhat disappointing:

Good: Z2 Force dropping to like $300 or so
Bad: $100 off the S8 after the S9 dropped.

They should have a deal to trade in the 8/8+ for a free X on 2 year EIP or something like that.

I am waiting to see if the X is on sale soon. T-Mobile told me they're still offering the X for $999. Which is quite laughable. I saw it drop to $780 brand new on eBay.

It's either iPhone XR or iPhone X for me. I rather get the X tbh. Don't care if the FaceID is slower and the battery life is weaker. Sure, no Band 71 LTE. But I can get an OLED display, more premium feeling phone, and a better camera set.

Ideally, I would've loved to get the XS for free on two year contract w/ an 8+ trade in. I hope the T-Mobile Board of Directors and Executive Team realizes their potential opportunity to gain more subscribers and get people on Band 71 LTE. $300 off is a damn insult.

from what i read just now they are discontuning the X which in a sense is no surprise its been mentioned... but its messed up because price will drop for it... however you are right on the stuff you mentioned its a great phone i had no real complaints at all but if i had to make one is that i actually kinda miss having a plus size phone after a while i kinda forgot because i got used to my X and then all of a sudden i seen it and compared it and from my eyes my X looked small.

I don’t see that happening, especially with the prices we’re talking nowadays.

Am personally a bit surprised we didn’t match the $500 off deal we did for the Note, but... different phones.

Demand drives a lot of that... the Z2 was not a major seller (at that point we were trying to burn through inventory); S-Series Galaxies are. iPhones ALWAYS are. Just the reality.

$500 would've been fine by me because $249 + tax isn't too unreasonable to get the XR. I say shame on the executives for using too strong language in their CNET interview. $300 isn't really "competitive."

I can see a BOGO happening early on the XR though. You guys tend to give some nice BOGOs on the LGs and Galaxies. But I don't want to go to Android anytime soon, so it really is what it is, gotta pay up to get a nice phone.

Luckily, Apple is offering $400 for the 8+, so I can get something somewhat alright. I have had too many issues selling on Swappa and eBay, so I rather just trade something in than play with some bad buyers again.

The Apple BOGO’s tend to be capped at $700 (while the Samsung is usually $720). Don’t ask why lol

But it looks like you’ll have some options, which is always a good thing.

That cap may need to go up to $750 lol. But good on T-Mobile to at least offer some sort of version of a BOGO. Yeah, I'll have a month or so to think over my options. I do want to try the XR before buying it.

I hope models show up at the Apple Store, T-Mobile, and Best Buy in the next week or two. The 828p display has me worried about screen quality.

Looks like for sure we will get a $0 down option for well-qualified on JOD according to this tweet from T-Mobile...

https://twitter.com/TMobile/status/1039969056734867456

$0 down is not a deal at all. You still have to pay for the full price. Almost every carrier has 24 months installment plan. The best deal on T-mobile was trading in iPhone 6 and get $649 credits towards buying a new iPhone 7 when 7 was released.

I guess I rather pay 400-500 up front and have a monthly payment of 30 each month but that’s just me

iphone Xmax silver 256gb for me , I’m all checked out with apples iup program. Apple made it very easy for a 1 click buy. Can’t wait , I’m ready to start tracking planes lol

I honestly want the Xs but I didn't buy the X last year bc of price tag and it's turning me off this year too. So unless TMO offers a good upgrade (on JUMP/Apple Upgrade) im going to get the Xr 64gb in Coral.

Does anyone know if T-Mobile always orders through the Apple store app the way that AT&T and Verizon do instead of preordering directly through T-Mobile?

The only options there are the Apple iPhone upgrade program and the Apple credit card financing option

We should get our demo models in soon... could even be tomorrow. Apple doesn’t put out demos until launch day.

I did regret not getting the X last year. I've been proud of myself for waiting. But I do love the economic option Apple is giving us this year to have a "new" phone with a somewhat better pricetag lol

That would be really quick for T-Mobile. Hands on YouTubers say the screen isn’t bad and it’s a quality LCD.

I don’t understand the question... this is the first year T-Mobile customers can do the IUP online. Ordering through T-Mobile itself is super easy, but you have to wait until Friday.

Anything remotely competitive with iPhones on the features/camera/power side come with similar prices, tbh.

Aside from last year’s X (and Watches), Apple did LCD exclusively... and they were always among the best you could buy. No surprise there.

Trying to decide between 256 and 512 for the Gold Xs Max. At that point the price difference is nominal but I just don’t know if 512 is really necessary.
How much storage space are you using now?

Do you use iCloud Photo Library? My photos and videos are roughly 1 TB in size. Thanks to iCloud Photo Library, my entire library is currently only using 14 GB.

Upgrading from 64 GB to 256 GB costs $150 and resale value on higher capacity iPhones are terrible. So I will be getting 64 GB.

At least the new phones support the 600mhz band from what I see in the tech specs. I am on JOD, if they try to make me put a down payment on a base Xs like they did last year on my X I am gong to go ape****, or just not upgrade. I am going for a watch for sure, pretty ticked off at that price jump, so it might come to that.

You must be joking right? Samsung galaxy note 9 it’s camera is better def not worse same whistle n bells. Samsung 128gb with expandable memory $999
