I’m on the old JoD program that let you upgrade I think more than once a year. Currently have iPhone X. Have been looking at doing the pre order through Apple’s app since the last few years going through T-Mo have been a pain. Undecided if better to pay in full, or do the financing program, or just stick with T-Mo JoD. Anyone in a similar boat? Does Apple offer a trade in to get a refund if you go through the iUP program?

If I remember correctly, with the iPhone X, we didn’t find out JOD pricing until the day they started the preorders

We knew on Thursday. I wouldn't have stayed up to make a 3am phone call last year if I didn't know the price.
[doublepost=1536845348][/doublepost]Side note: Hello again, my September friends. Hope everyone is well this year.

Apple IUP is so much better than the jump stuff. In my opinion. Just pay taxes and first month payment. No $299 or $399 crap so that u can keep payments “low”

This is what I pulled from TMO reddit page

Trade in an iPhone device in good condition as follows:
  • $300 offer value: iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8
  • $200 offer value: iPhone 6s or 6s Plus
  • $100 offer value: iPhone Original, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 5c, SE, 6, 6 Plus

Is it for people who paid their phones off or we have to pay 50% off first ?

The problem with IUP is that it doesn't include insurance....So I'm paying full retail for Applecare over the 24 months PLUS paying insurance to Tmo....with the insurance you get Applecare protection, that's part of the reason I've kept JOD. My 3 year tenure is December...so depending on pricing I may have to wait this year to upgrade....

You should take a look and see how much TMO charges vs Apple program which now also has an option for theft and loss.

This is my first year upgrading with T-Mobile. Got the X in January and have already paid off 50 percent with Jump and T-Mobile’s iPhone upgrade program. Any idea when we’ll know the down payment pricing?

well rip, was going to go for the XR and was just told the XR wouldnt be available till the end of October

So what's the safest route to secure the iPhone XS on launch day from T-mobile apart from going to the store and standing in line? The preorder on Apple's website for T-Mobile only has the iPhone upgrade program compared to Verizon and AT&T that offer their financing agreement through the apple website.

I am in the exact same boat. I ended up paying off the remainder of my JoD ($490) just to be safe. I have done the pre-qualifying for the Iup through apple and it appears the X is worth $525 for trade in with apple. What I don't know is if it will be applied to the purchase, or if I have to settle for an Apple gift card.

T-Mobile Customer Service has been absolutely useless on the pricing of the down payments. They keep saying the 64gb won't have a downpayment, but they don't have the prices on their end for the rest of the storage capacities until tomorrow....preorder begins at midnight. Oy vey.

Customer service has been going down hill fast at Tmo...
