ask from your local store as I believe they operate differently base on my experience on Samsung Galaxy Watch order, I found one store to do free overnight shipping but the otgers don't. keep in mind that ordering from store subject to a $20 fee. You may waive that fee by calling T-Force.

Hmm I may just take my chance and go on Friday. I can’t decide what to do. The web says 9/26-10/3 which isn’t that far away but damn I wish I didn’t have to have waited until today lol I’m too damn impatient.

My thoughts exactly lol I’m so impatient. Plus, for some reason, I find it more satisfying to go to the store and physically buy the phone lol I’ll be taking my chances Friday morning.

Yeah thinking of doing the same. I might stop on the way home at my local store and see what they think as well.

I thought about asking when I called to see what time they were opening but I figured they either don’t know what they’re getting or won’t say so I didn’t even bother.

Are they opening any earlier or normal time? Luckily I’m working from home that day so I can step out for a bit.

Does T-Mobile have USPS shipments too? Because I have this shipment that started on the 18th, a day after I ordered the phone and it’s scheduled to be delivered this Friday.

So I guess the UPS site in Louisville is called Worldport. That's where packages are loaded onto planes and shipped around. T-Mobile's distribution center is 7.3 miles away. These phones are going on planes, not trucks.
Ground is the service description for transit time.. Doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t see a plane. What it does mean is Next Day and 2nd Day will go on planes first..

What I don’t get is why some people think UPS is going to throw their rates out the window and apply the same service levels to these phones regardless of whether they are next day, 2nd Day, or ground. UPS doesn’t drop everything so that everyone that ordered an iPhone gets it on Friday. I know this, I’ve been through this - and others here have too. I could be wrong - but my experience in this situation has proven otherwise — regardless of what a rep is telling you.

Just got confirmation of a UPS delivery at my house. Sadly, it's my Apple silicone case for the XS Max... If I do get hit and miss the launch day window because of ground shipping, I get to hold an empty case with a screen protector inside of it until it arrives. Yay....

Me too! The case and screen protector I ordered from Amazon came in today.

checked my UPS and i have a tracking number, just with a shipping label created. says shipping second day air.

Just spoke with a T-Mobile Executive Response member from John's office. Long story short, if you have UPS Ground in your My Choice, you're more than likely getting the phone on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday. If you have anything BUT UPS Ground in your My Choice, you're getting it Friday. He told me that they have to wait until Apple tells them to start shipping, they're not allowed to start shipping any time sooner than that. Apparently shipping will likely start late tomorrow morning (Thursday).

Looks like I'll have to wait until Tuesday. I know people keep saying "ground shipping arrives on Friday every year" but I think they're referencing those that had "Ground" in their T-Mobile account, NOT those that had Ground in My Choice. I've never heard of any iPhone (through Apple or not) that gets there overnight if the actual shipping label says ground, there's absolutely no way UPS has some 'special system' or overclocks their shipping process just because it's iPhone day.

If your UPS label says ground, it's regular old ground shipping. No exceptions. Happy to be proven wrong come tomorrow/Friday.

They did last year for my iPhone X and I ordered way after launch. It's possible.

Crucial detail in those screenshots: your UPS email says "Next Day Air Saver" but your T-Mobile account says "Ground." Yes, we've seen this before, and it means UPS aren't 'throwing their rates out of the window' because they're just doing whatever it says on the label. This year, some of us have both "Ground" on T-Mobile and "Ground" in our UPS accounts and I guarantee you UPS are going to do the exact same thing they do for all the other millions of packages they send a year: do what the label says and ship Ground.

Is it possible that UPS is incentivized to do so by carriers or even Apple?

Nope, all they've done is partner with Apple to streamline the process of getting phones from China to the Louisville distribution center. Once it's there and the devices get handed off to carriers it goes back to being a standard process.

Just a little hope for everyone I ordered my xs max 9/14 at 6am I was charged and it is in ups my choice with no info basically . I ordered an iPad Pro the same time and it had ground shipping and was in Indiana as well and it never undated and had the same info as the phone that it was in Indiana but this morning it was out for delivery in New Jersey lol no other update other then that so keep your hopes up for Friday I think over night tonight we will see ally of movement

Exactly, everyone saying that ground shipping delivers on Friday is talking about seeing 'ground shipping' in the T-Mobile app, not ground shipping in My Choice
