The iPhone Upgrade Program is great for users who upgrade on a yearly basis as it essentially forgoes the carriers altogether. Discord The entire process is managed via Apple, which is especially important when pre-ordering as Apple usually reserves more stock for users ordering through Apple than through carriers.

The program also includes AppleCare+, Adobe Reader which grants two accidental damages over two years at $99 per incident for iPhone X users. Not to mention, the phone is completely unlocked from day one, so if your current carrier isn’t working out, you can simply switch to another without having to go through the painful process of trying to get your current carrier to unlock your phone iTunes (which typically requires you to pay off the device).

So we will see what happens Friday but I'm no longer keeping my hopes up. Every year there is another problem with my T-Mobile pre-order.

T-Mobile does have a history of making iPhone launches unpleasant, BUT it's not even Thursday yet. Moves can still be made. The call centers are always really uneducated as to what is really going on with shipping, and of course they can't guarantee anything before launch.

All that means is that it’s packaged with a shipping label and ready to ship. Unless you have and origin scan on UPS it’s not moving. Most of us are in the same boat.
Yeah. I just wanted my shipping info so I can keep track. Not OCD at all. Lol

I'd take my chances, and walk into a store friday morning. At least then you have a shot, albeit small, to get a phone. Maybe not the color you want though. If you're dead set on color, then preorder now, and youll get it whenever.

Yeah it was there all day until now lol I’m not picky on color though leaning towards gold. I’ll take my chance Friday!

Once again, it does not matter that your shipping service says ground or overnight. For i Phones, UPS has a special launch unit that they work separately, sorting the phones for shipment. Most probably you will see a departure scan either tonight or tomorrow night. They throw all the phones in the UPS plane to go to the destination, and will be delivered on 9/21.
To be honest with you guys, it's more convenient and cost efficient for both Carriers and UPS to ship overnight, because they will clear their warehouses as quick as possible for the next badge of shipment.

I hope that you are right! :)

This is fact. Don’t know if anyone remembers, but it was two or three years ago that Apple started contracting UPS and Fedex to exclusively handle iPhones for pre orders. They both have their own special units specifically set to handle all of us 1st world problem whiners, me included....

I wonder if shipping depends on where you live, too. I live NW Indiana, and ground shipping always gets my tmobile orders to me the next day.

Exactly! I live in Los Angeles, and usually my phones come a night before release day from KY to Ontario, CA overnight (usually comes with 3:30 pm flight)and move to Los Angeles UPS center that night and departure scan on the next day. I already memorized that lol

For my friend, he pre-ordered his Note9, 3 days before ship day, he had ground shipping, but he's got his phone one day before the release day. He 's JoD though.

Did his UPS label also show Ground? I went over to the reddit thread, and a guy posted that a lot of people with Ground shipping got their Note 9s after launch day...

If I go to the T-Mobile store today ad place a preorder, will it still ship later or will they just hold one of the stock ones they got in?

I believe it does. Sometimes if they see ground won’t cut it they upgrade it to get it to you on launch day. That’s been my experience so far. Hopefully it holds.

Probably. Phones come out of Louisville, KY. There is a big UPS hub there. T-Mobile also has a distribution center in Louisville. Since T-Mobile and UPS are in the same city, it makes sense for the phones to be put on planes for expedited shipping rather than trucked to another city. I doubt we'll actually see ground shipping.

I don't remember, but he didn't care about ground shipping, but the phone delivered like other orders.

A few people here shared that they had Ground listed on their Tmobile order, but when it went to UPS, the label shows 2 day or overnight... Mine still shows Ground :(

So I guess the UPS site in Louisville is called Worldport. That's where packages are loaded onto planes and shipped around. T-Mobile's distribution center is 7.3 miles away. These phones are going on planes, not trucks.

ask from your local store as I believe they operate differently base on my experience on Samsung Galaxy Watch order, I found one store to do free overnight shipping but the otgers don't. keep in mind that ordering from store subject to a $20 fee. You may waive that fee by calling T-Force.

I hope so, because I have two watches scheduled for 9/21 delivery that haven't been charged for, yet. The phone I ordered was charged for on 18th. Showed up in ups mychoice too, as ready for ups.

Wait for your origin scan. That's when UPS will have the phone and take over.
