Stoopid question:

The Unindicted Co-Conspirator and I have purchased all of our iPhones in person from the Apple Store, and our provider has always been AT&T. I keep the phones for at least two years, so there's never a contract issue.

This year, I want to upgrade our 6 and 6 Plus to 8 and 8 Plus, respectively, and switch to T-Mobile. What's the best way to pre-order? Online from Apple at oh-dark-thirty on Friday morning? Online from T-Mobile at oh-dark-thirty on Friday morning? Or from my friendly neighborhood T-Mobile store when they open at a reasonable hour on Friday morning?

Hmm, what if I jump on demand to the 8 then jump on demand again quickly to the X?

That’s what I plan on doing. JOD to the 8 plus (or Note 8) for a month and then preordering the X. Bummed about the extra long wait, but hopefully the 8 plus will satisfy my new phone crave until it’s time.

I work for T-Mobile and i can insure you guys we have gotten no word yet.

T-Mobile just announced a trade in program for the new I8's
$300 for I6 or above . This is not event close to what they offered but the timing of the announcement is exactly same as last years

Pretty lame offer this time around.

I wonder if there's any fineprint about not being able to use JOD two times in a row so quickly or something like that. We better investigate well before doing this haha

Edit: apparently you have to wait 30 days between jumps, so it should be fine (I think)

Nice. Hadn't even considered JoD to 8+ and then getting X. If we pre-order this weekend, we barely pass the 30 days in between. And honestly, let's face it: we're not getting our hands on X until early 2018 so we might as well have the next best thing until.. after all we are in the program.

I was ready to jump on this phone using my jump but now after reading what the down payment might be I’m not so sure I want one.

In this thread people were suggesting anywhere between $200-300. It’s speculation but I wouldn’t doubt it.

Please tell us because T-Mobile is being slow

So last year I took advantage of their promo trade in a qualifying phone get an IP7 for xxxx a month with credits. Was a pretty good deal, the one advertised on slickdeals. My bill shows a monthly charge for EIP but I am also getting a corresponding credit I believe.

If I pay off the EIP to take advantage of an IP8, am I losing anything financially in regards to monthly credits and such. Is it "not a good deal"? You had to be an accounting major to figure out their original plan in the first place. I don't have an issue paying off EIP and I can probably find an IP6 somewhere to get a $300 credit, I just want to make sure I am not screwing myself somewhere. Tia.

I predict everything will be around Samsung pricing. There will probably be a down payment for regular upgrades and jump on demand will be $0 down for base models of all 3 phones and iPhone X will be about $40 a month. Currently it’s $210 down and $30 a month for the Note 8 or $0 down and $39 a month for jump on demand.

Is there a place that doesn't charge a restocking fee if I wanted to jump board onto a note with AT&T?

I’m on the original jump plan so I’m hoping it’s more like $100 down. I’ve got two phones I wanna upgrade.

This sound about right but you forgot we need to pay tax on it up front also which is $69. Its 7% in my state so it puts the final cost of the down payment at $349. This is going to be one very expense phone.
Mine was 292.30 after tax, so yeah sounds about right.

Damn, 479? Might be staple across all carriers...

I have a EIP of $279, would it be any better to pay that off and then use the paid off 6s 64GB to trade in towards the X?

Are those prices for new customers or upgrades?
