Do you guys recommend Pre-ordering with Tmobile over Apple? I do not know how the phones are allotted, but something tells me Apple's site will be a bit bogged down on the 27th :)

All depends on the situation. If you're just going to buy an unlocked phone outright, I'd go through Apple.

if you're trying to do EIP or Apple's payment plan, I'd do T-Mobile online. Apple's site specifically states if you want to tie it to T-Mo, you have to do it in store to activate.

I'm gonna do mine through the T-Mo website. My brother got his 7 Plus through the T-Mobile website on pre-order day and delivered launch day.

I will preorder with apple for the X this time because I need an fully unlocked iPhone X. I got my 8 Plus via T-Mobile eip with Jump, but I think I’m gonna cancel the Jump option and just go straight eip on the 8 Plus.

All my local T-Mobile store doesn’t seem to carry the regular 8 in Space Gray but they have it in other color/configurations.

My 8 has been weird lately. It scrolls by itself and clicks things. Also I hear a popping noise on calls.

With the innovation Tim & co put in there, maybe it'll setup a "genius" appointment and walk itself to it - lol.

On a serious note, I am sure you'll still be in a return period. Why not get the best bang for your buck?

I don’t understand why Apple requires TMobile users to upgrade via in store. I had NO issues when I was with AT&T using the Apple app over these last couple of years. I was told it’s best to call in and order because they’re online app is a mess when it comes to ordering an iPhone. I’m just like everyone else. I’d love to be one of the first to get the iPhone X. While highly unlikely I’m not sure what to do. Try to do it online and or do it over the phone. I’m giving it 2-3 minutes before all iPhone X’s are sold out. I miss AT&T at times and pre-ordering this year will surely tell me how much and why I miss them based off of everything I have read.

You can order online if you're not trying to enroll.i to the Apple IPhone upgrade plan for the first time.

Taking into consideration that there seem won't be "free sim" on launch day of iPhone X, can I buy a T-Mobile full price and put my pre paid chip from AT&T? I think T-Mobile because no checking is required on site.

Would it be only put my pre paid chip or would I need activate it on T-Mobile firstly?

Through the Apple App it tells me I have to go in either way. And I’m JUMP eligible at this moment. So I’m not understanding how I can go through the app. If I want to purchase the phone full price perhaps but payment wise it won’t let me. Not sure what I’m doing wrong here then. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Im in the same boat as you.

I chatted with Apple on this the other day and the rep said TMobile does not allow them to interface with their system in the same manner as other carriers or something to that effect.

Considering using the Apple Barclays financing option instead.

I am planning to pre-order the iPhone X by paying it in full but I don't see the sim-free option. My current carrier(Lycamobile) is not listed. Can I order the T-Mobile version instead and use it with my carrier which is GSM?

If I’m not mistaken, as long as you are already on the iPhone Upgrade Program and on T-Mobile, you can go through the entire process online. It’s only if you want to join the Upgrade Program as a new user? It lets you check out on the Upgrade Program for T-Mobile right now with the iPhone 8? Unless I am missing something.

Yeah in my case would be joining the iphone upgrade program as a new user (but current TMo customer).

Don’t have good enough credit to get financed through Apple. I wish they would even with money down. Even though my credit isn’t good, AT&T would finance me with no money down, regardless of my credit. So apparently my “phone“ credit is excellent, but that’s not a good enough reason for me to get financed still. And that’s what T-Mobile tells me. I said this in an earlier comment, if T-Mobile would allow higher EIPs, then there would be a chance of having zero money down if given the choice. If given the chance, I would probably have definitely tried to get financed through Apple. I guess I’m stuck just trying to have a bigger down payment through T-Mobile though. Unless I go back to AT&T.

For all those in the Denver area, I am starting a pre-order list for the iPhone X. I will be placing orders for anybody on the pre-order list, as soon as midnight hits. If you don't want to wait in line, or wake up at 1AM, let me handle your order for you. I work in Verizon Small Business Development, so i can travel and meet at one of our locations to get the ball rolling. Excited to see if they will sell out in the first run like they usually do. FOR ALL TMOBILE CUSTOMERS, YOU CAN GET UP TO $650 to switch-over to Verizon.

Demo units don’t come into stores until launch day, November 3rd.
I’ve always wished that they would release demo units on pre-order day or a few days prior, but they never have.

That’s weird. If I remember correctly long before the Apple Watch made its release they had all displays models on display. Not to mention they would let you try on the GOLD Apple Watch Edition behind the store somewhere. Maybe they do the watches differently?!

When I placed my order for the Space Black 42MM with Stainless Steel Link Bracelet I went to the Apple store after placing my order JUST to make sure I ordered the right one. I was stuck between the black and silver. Ultimately I went with black. Anyway going to the store made my selection that much easier because I saw it in all its beauty in the display. Apple should consider doing the same with phones.

Obviously I want the X but I’ve been so used to the plus that I might be a bit disappointed. However I’m ready for change and wouldn’t mind the tad bit smaller phone. So I’m going to bite the bullet and go with the X. Sight unseen.

Hey I'm in Denver, how does switching from T-Mobile work? I'm currently on their Jump on Demand...
