In your situation, it doesn't appear that JOD is an option. If you find a telesales rep or CS rep willing to do it, then bravo... lol. In-store and "official" guidance is that, unless you're already on JOD, it's not available outside of doing JOD for one of our Smartpicks (or pre-to-post and well-qualified Metro customers coming over and get an R-credit rating). Other than that, your options look to be outright buying, EIP, or JUMP! (EIP with ½ paid off trade-in option)
Is 611 the best way to do a JOD order? Or twitter, T-Mobile app?

Take it with a grain of salt but I've been speaking to a guy over at the presidents office(CEO) for T-mobile over an ongoing activation issue with my Apple Watch. Finally got it resolved, and I decided to bring up the subject about the JOD pricing for the iPhone X. He mentioned they were looking at $0 down for the 64gb with a monthly payment of around $40-45ish a month and around $200ish down for the 256gb. He mentioned nothing is concrete yet but this info should be out by next Wednesday at the latest.

I’d love to see if I could choose JOD over Jump if given an option. But right now the App is showing Jump. I’m wondering if I could just choose to JOD and put more money down then asked if given the chance and still be on the iPhone Upgrade program through TMobile. OR even if I didn’t have to put more money down could I still do the $200 and still be on the iPhone Upgrade program through TMobile. I’m down for either way. I’m keeping fingers crossed that pricing is right. I’d rather have a higher EIP and a lower monthly payment if given the chance! Still, waiting till Wednesday is kind of pushing it though. Man I wish they would release this info sooner.

If you're the type who typically updates every year (or especially more frequently), JOD is awesome. I wish it was clear across the board; as it stands, only telesales and care can offer it outright to anyone. Stores only offer it for Smartpicks, or new customers that come back with an R rating.

A key selling point of JOD - besides the frequency of upgrading - is that well-qualified can walk out of the store (or off the phone, etc.) paying $0 down. Monthly is a little higher, and insurance is mandatory (because it's a leased phone)... but take where I am for example: tax rate out here is 10%. That's a large chunk of money that doesn't even count toward the financing. Add to that a $25 SIM, and you could be nearing $150 without putting a dent in your payment.

Putting more down is definitely an option, and the iPhone upgrade program should be available to you either way you choose to go.

Good luck! Hope everyone gets their phone(s) in 2017... lol

I've had JOD for a few years on my line. I switch phones way too often, lol. It works out great for me.

Yeah, it's great... when people understand what it is and who it's aimed at. I gotten to the point where I just buy my phones outright. The way these phone prices are going, JOD is a keeper if you're on it. Take advantage of your upgrades if there's something out there that interests you. Changes to JOD are coming next August, so be prepared.

Technically TECHNICALLY speaking, managers in-store can still do it - it's still an option in the system, but we've been instructed not to (as well as incentivized: our reps don't get paid on JOD for new customers - unless it's one of the approved circumstances, i.e. Smartpick or R credit). So if you know someone who says they were told two different things between Care or TS and their local store (regarding the availability of JOD), that's why.

One of the reps suggested I switch to EIP on my line, we've got 6 lines, I said no thanks.

Hey!

If i pre-order the T-Mobile & pay full price outright, the phone i receive is unlocked, yes? Or do i have to do some specific mumbo jumbo of installing a specific SIM etc?

Through the T-Mobile app, the csr is trying to say that they are waiting on pricing from. Apple for JOD. There is no way that is true.

After speaking with NINE different Apple reps and THREE T-Mo reps -- many telling different stories -- I've concluded that since I have a Business Account with T-Mo, I cannot partake in Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program because they cannot activate the phone (Citizen's requirement) because they won't have access to my account. Looking for validation here.

Furthermore, T-Mo's 12 month cash outlay for the 256 GB iPhone X is $242.82 ($429.99 + [$30 x 12] + $103.50 tax) higher than Apple's $54.14/mo. And the ability to upgrade is limited to ONE TIME ONLY?!?

Am I missing anything here or is THAT my only option other than purchasing the phone outright at $1149 + tax?

as Tmobile the only carrier that doesn't request verification SSN and phone number from apple.com , so i am thinking on preorder iphone X.. but i want to know to activate it as i don't have a Tmobile or at&t or verizon accounts?
will it need an account to be activated?

Is anyone here planning to pre-order a full price unlocked iPhone X, "returning" it at a store and "re-buying" it under the IUP? This was a pretty successful workaround last year with T-Mobile requiring customers to go to an Apple store to enroll in the program.

hey guys, I get the newest iPhone every year and I literally can not wait till the iPhone X. Of course, I am going to stay up and Pre-order it, I usually get lucky every year and receive my iPhone within a week or two. However, I feel like this will be the hardest one yet. I’m scared that tmobile is not ready for all this chaos, I feel like it’s going to be huge.

Should I just do it with the Apple store app or just phone call tmobile?

One of my T-Mobile phones is currently via iUP, so I’ll order that as a reserve on launch, but I want to get another via T-Mobile iUP at Apple store.
Am I screwed for the 2nd phone and have to try my luck in store? Or can I do a new iUP on the app and have it reserved?

They sure don't have their act together on jump on demand pricing. 5 days till launch and no pricing yet.

I don’t know what T-Mobile issue is right now but they are slacking pretty bad. Seeing that every other company’s has pricing available. Me personally will be going through the Apple store app. Last year was my first year with T-Mobile and no one informed that if I pre ordered in store that they will still ship it to me. If that was the case I would of stayed up and pre ordered via telesales at 2am.

I'm concerned not enough reps to handle pre-order. Low down payment would help me currently, too.

I’m also looking for a low down payment. I see sprint has like 275 down with payments only being aroun 26 bucks. I’m hoping T-Mobile gives us a good deal
