^ Arguably, he was talking specifically about the iPhone.

& I agree. This is a really great.

This is almost better than my goal of storing a few important docs on the iPhone for local browsing!

Ummm...Apple is doing this with their "Back to my Mac" feature in Leopard.

Which is nothing to do with iPhone, requires .Mac, and is not free

ok guys, i have the regular apple base router with airtunes. i can use this when i'm on my wifi, but when i try using edge, it doesnt work. what do i do to my router to browse when i'm away from home using edge?

This is soooo cool. I cannot figure out how to access my computer outside of my network, though.

I have one of the new Airport Extreme base stations & roadrunner high speed internet. I know how to find the IP address to my router, but what URL do I use to access my computer from outside my local network?

EDIT: Or Asar's question +1 :D

Im running 10.5 9A466 if that makes a difference but i just cannot get this program to work. All it does when i try to point the safari browser there gives me an error of could not find the server. It does not work on leopard as of yet. On the wiki, it says they fixed it, but I have tried the latest version and it still is broked! Hopefully a fix will be out soon....

is anyone accessing their files from outside their LAN, and if so, how?

What needs to be added to the local address to make it work?

To connect to your mac using this program outside of your home network you need to forward the 5010 port to your computers local ip.

Basically you need to find your networks ip. You can do this by going to a site like http://whatsmyip.org/ now most ip's will change so this will onl work until then...

Anyways, if you log into your router and tell it to forward 5010 to your computers ip when you connect to the ip that sites gives you followed by :5010 it should go through.

It'd look something like http://66.249.66.162:5010

Holy crap, I just tried it out and I'm very impressed. The remote desktop was kind of slow but the camera capture was very cool.

Can't wait to see what the developers come up with.

oh, one more thing. when i browse on edge, everything works but streaming music and movies. it gives me a server not responding error. but the camera works.. weird. is this due to edge being slow?

Thanks a lot. I had port 5010 forwarded but I couldn't figure out what to put in the address bar to access it. It's working now on any wifi and edge.

This is a very promising app...I'm almost as excited about this as I was about getting an iPhone in the first place.

I'm unsure how to do that last step. I have an Airport Express and when I access Airport Admin Utility I don't which tab to select, what exactly to type, or specifically where to type it. Can anyone lend a hand?

I am not sure what all this thingy can do.. but if I have a VoIP softphone on my desktop, can I basically place a VoIP phone call? Will the audio in both directions work from the iPhone?
