@foojitsu1

i have installed ubuntu.but now i have delete it.now i have on restart (holding down the alt key) a drive called " EFI "
do you know how to delete this one?
Change the startup preference back to macOS using Startup Disk System Preferences panel.

To remove the EFI Boot option from the Startup Manager (which appears when holding down the option key at boot), mount the EFI partition and delete the bootx64.efi file from the /EFI/BOOT folder.
Code:
cd ~/Downloads
source DiskUtil.sh
mountEFIpartitions

You can delete the following files in the /Volumes/EFI/EFI/BOOT folder:
  • BOOTX64.EFI
  • fbx64.efi
  • mmx64.efi
But first make sure the BOOTX64.EFI file matches one of the efi files in the /Volumes/EFI/EFI/ubuntu folder (probably shimx64.efi) otherwise the BOOTX64.EFI might belong to a different OS which you might want to keep.

Why I'm not in the least surprised that some people of this thread already pissed off the person who developed the firmware mod for GC TITAN-RIDGE?

People pissed off the person that was developing free GPU Mac EFIs, people that was documenting Mac Pro EFIs, then got OC developers angry, now this.

Attention! Anyone who is interested in fixing their Titan Ridge. You need to flash your chip with an eprom programmer.

https://www.amazon.ca/…/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_OJstEbC523B2M

Correct BIOS https://drive.google.com/open…

Clean version of CH341A Software (Install all drivers)

https://drive.google.com/open…

Connect to Blue chip first

Patience is KEY! Trying to clip onto the chip is the hardest part! Unless you buy a nice clip $$ then you'll need to be diligent in your efforts. The dot on the chip always indicates where 1. Make sure the red wire on the clip is positioned correcting with 1 on the chip. 2 the orientation of the piece you place inside the programmer all depends. Open the software and see the diagram. Some peoples cards may be a mirror image of what they see, ignore this and follow where it tells you to place pin 1.

When aligning the clip with the chip look from the side like in the photo. Focus on one side of the clip first. Make sure the metal connector lines up perfectly with the pin. Then the same on the other side. Make sure the whole time you are pushing down firmly. When you release do it very slowly and do not move it around. If you can't see near you may need a magnifying glass. After 30 mins I could do it first attempt each time. Just be patient.

Open program and click READ. If you are successful you should be able to grab the scroll brand see content on your chip. If you see nothing then you probably have not connected it properly. Keep trying until you are successful.

Once you succeed in reading the chip. SAVE the bin on your chip. Backup backup backup.
Do the same for the green chip.

Now that you have backed everything up go ahead and connect to the Blue chip again. Once successfully connected wipe chip. Go and open up the blue chip file I have provided you. When you open it you should be able to scroll along and see its contents. Hit Program.

Once it is complete test your card. For those of you who have 23.0 cards that updated them this should fix your issue. If not, keep reading

For the cards that came stock on newer firmware 43.0 I found the green chip varied from the updated 23.0 cards. So go ahead and clear/program the chip with the firmware I have provided for the green chip.
Make sure your clip is properly secured and reading the chip properly before flashing the green ship.
I am not responsible if you brick your card!

GOODLUCK! Pm me for assistance

If anyone continues to have issues without results we can arrange for me to ship you a TR card.

DSM2 is the guy behind this work.

Like I understood he made a custom firmware and flashed it to the Titan Ridge.
Someone he works with or something created the custom firmware and they have ask for it to not be released so I personally asked him. He said in no, it will never be released.

Can we start a new forum? Get some programmers involved and maybe start getting our own custom firmware in the works so we can natively run it in OSX?

Also, great FB group here for anyone interested.

For anyone interested, I'm gathering community member from different forums and fb groups to gather information and intellect so we can get our own custom firmware created.

i don't know what your motives are, but even on your crap
on the hackintosh forum that made the developers decide not to make it public.
and others who could already see the dollars in their eyes.

i see this now for 30 years, in the area of payTV, GPU flash and so on

I find it sad :- (

I’m more interested in the latest developments though. I hate the warm boot because sleep kills the connection unfortunately

@joevt

now we know thath works.
it`s a mix from Titan Ridge and Alpine

all we need is here

After @dsm2 decided not to release its firmware and he is the 1st to do it, I hope one of you can do it. We Mac 5.1 users depend on you because many don't have the knowledge, and I think so A forum for that is also there. Best example is "DOSDUDE. He shared his patch with everyone. But respect DSM2 decision. Sooner or later someone will do it. Until then we hope that we can keep our Mac Pro alive.

Osy86 can't help you guys... But you will find out yourself.

@ampman just because you read my post, it's not give you the knowledge what's important and the code which is needed. The biggest part is the code that you have to write on your own without any documentation.

Good luck doing this.

It's always the people that don't know how get out of vim that makes a fuss. If it was so easy as they think, it would be done years ago.

Anyway, if people really want this, they could get together and contract an EFI/firmware developer to do this. What's need to be done was explained very early on the thread.

Great job finding a solution. Too bad it's getting locked away. In situations like this, sometimes it's better to keep it works of this nature private, under NDA VS going public. It helps to prevent the wanters and the haters and well as over enthusiastic forum lurkers from jumping off a cliff.

While there a lot of contributors that have brought forward many open source efforts in projects like clover and open core, - or developers like dosdude with his ongoing contributions. Or individuals whose name rimes with mominator, modifying off the shelf products to help pay the rent... Clearly this is a none of the above case - which I have to say - is a shame.

The 2009-2012 cMP is a dying breed and this would have been a nice way to kick the can down the road for a bit longer.

I just have to say... It's one heck of an effort / Proof concept just to let it gather dust.

What did you expect on your post ?
That I will start to think about an release just because you don't accept my decision ?
I won't release it...not for free and also not for money..

I owe nobody here anything, the decision was made and just because some people are pissed about it,
it won't change anything about the whole situation...

Just being an active member of the obvious.

Honestly, I don't care about what was created or how important it is to anyone, or even if what was claimed actually works. If it does, cool. If not, no big loss. With that said... I'm not intending to sway anyone's intentions, especially yours, just jumping back in to clarify a situation. Nothing more.. Nothing less.

What we know is that Something was created, and it's creator is upset that others are asking for it to be shared, following the conversation across the net. Honestly, it seems like a lot of attention to boast about something that could be a lot of nothing. After all, proof is always in the pudding and if it is, hopefully it's chocolate.

Enjoy! ???

Question:

if i have Firmware 23 on my Titan and i have a Mod.Firmware and i change the Version to 43 ( but it is a 23Mod) can we flash it with this tool without Eeprom writer?

On this app you can select the BIN file.

it was an update and not a downgrade.

I installed the drivers from Elgato for fun to see what happened. The Elgato TB3 driver then blocked the warm boot. My UAD was not recognized. So I uninstalled the Elgato driver again and lo and behold, the Apollo worked again. Strange

I think that's exactly what happens here, only that it works

Something that would never happen apparently has. TB on Mac Pro 5,2. I love it! Sorry it won't be released, it would have been fun. But kudos to DSM2 and friends for accomplishing the feat, right up there with the 4,1>5,1 firmware hack from Romulator.

Now, who is going to make the 5,1 provide AVX? ?
