in slot 3 it will show as USB card only (if you need only as USB card then without OC and flash)
and in slot 4 you will see TB device only if unplug and replug a TB device and after reboot!

If, I put it in slot 3, I can see it, it shows in the PCI as pci8086's not Intel JHL7540 Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3NHI and Intel JHL Titan Ridge USB 3.1and I get the drive to show up and the driver in the thunderbolt tab is loaded as Gigabyte not Apple.inc

If I put it in the Slot-4 I get nothing, the TR is not even see by the system...

I'm curious about if everyone is supplying power to either of the two 2x3 pin power ATX connector to support 100W in a Mac Pro. If so- how are you doing it? Are you using 2* 2xSATA to ATX connectors thereby using up four of your six SATA connectors? I guess if your video card doesn't use much power you could tap the same PCIe connectors coming from the logic board, but my video card is a Vega 64 (uses too much power). Or are you just not bothering to connect the ATX connectors?

I flash titan ridge with dsm2 23...bridge pin 3 and 5 on card, and power atx on card, I install Martin lo open core version add on config the text and in efi/acpi tb3 aml file. I do 3 nvram restart. I have an Silver Apollo fw with option tb3 card, a uad satellite fw, 1 hub usb c to usb 3.1 with attached a bay with 2 slot hd and inside 2 ssd .... after first boot show the ssd and only a satellite uad fw, the on restart (second boot) it show Apollo tb3 plus satellite fw and again ssd.., then with 2 boot work all.

I have a Radeon Rx 580 pulse and connect with splitter also the atx on titan ridge, controlled the power with istat menu all under control no problems...

Could you please provide the Marin Lo OC? I would like to try.
Also could you provide screenshots of PCI Tab and Thunderbolt tab?
Thank you...

Can you provide a link for this splitter?

What is Firmware 144.0.0.0.0?
How do we check and install if needed?

You can check your MacPro's Boot ROM version under Hardware in your Systemrapport:

Hi

Looks like a great work around?
I am considering buying GC-Titan Ride. I have hackintosh and windows on the same machine and want to use the card with both.
Would I still be able to use the Gigabyte GC-Titan Ridge on my windows machine after flashing it with this?

Thanks for advance.

I guess you are daisy-chaining two splitters. The RX 580 has one 8-pin power connector and the CG-TITAN RIDGE has two 6-pin power connectors. I was hoping to see a single splitter going from one 8-pin connector to one 8-pin and two 6-pin connectors.

On mb 2x6 pin to 8pin ... 8pin to 2x8pin one on 580 the other 8 pin to 2x6 (-2) pin to TR atx plug... check the voltage and amperage on istat menu no prob at moment... is low voltage and amperage... bye

Ps: but I think this is not absolutely necessary on titan ridge, it works also without add power...

Yes, that's right. But it's necessary if you want to charge a MacBook, for example.
I don't think you want to do that. The Mac Pro has just enough power for a GPU - you don't want to be adding 100W for laptop charging.

I don't understand why people think of charging a macbook on a macpro

Here's my use case: I use my MacBook in target disk mode with the CG-TITAN RIDGE all the time. Because the MacBook only has one USB-C port, it would be great to be able to charge it at the same time.

That's interesting. Target Disk Mode is handled by EFI instead of macOS. I suppose that doesn't matter since charging should happen even if the Macbook is powered off.

Well, I guess if your Mac Pro doesn't melt then it should be ok (don't play 3D games and charge the MacBook at the same time?). I have my Thunderbolt cards in a Netstor NA255A so I have plenty of power (1200W power supply).

Check the Power section of System Information.app to see what it says for Watts for charging on the MacBook. Compare each Thunderbolt 3 port of the GC-TITAN RIDGE. Try with PCIe power not connected and connected to see if there's a difference. Maybe consider trying a power delivery sniffer or meter (I don't know if they work with Thunderbolt - they might allow only 20 Gbps in that case?).

Finally back home.... A ton of main work is on the table but as soon as it's done I will start to work on thunderbolt further. A lot of new tests had been done. Also thinking about to write a new version of the firmware since other builds are stable and only 2009/2010th macpro creates problems with some gear.

This machine is already waiting...
