Some times iOS updates expose a faulty component.
Sorry but that is completely false. If the hardware was faulty then it wouldn't work at all. It wouldn't just suddenly stop working when you update to a new firmware. Also geekbench scores and GFX benchmarks would show it, which they dont.

No. You may drop your phone or something and don't notice immediately that the battery is now defective. You update the following week and start benchmarking. That is when you notice things are off and blame the update. This is a scenario that happens to folks often.

I cant roll back my iPhone 6S
So you're saying that even your new iPhone with its A9 processor can't run the OS smoothly? Then return it. Better yet, sell it. Find a phone that has low enough lag for your tastes since your iPhone 6S isn't good enough.

I just don't understand what all this complaining is supposed to accomplish. What's your YouTube video supposed to prove? That iOS 9 is unusable?

Strangely, my 5s is working quite well, no slowdowns or stutters.

And for sake of full disclosure, I am running the most recent 9.1 beta.

Have to say, the 6s runs iOS 9 flawlessly. I've only played with demo phones at the Apple Store or with a few work friends who got it last week (none of them knew about 3D Touch funnily enough).

For what it's worth, I done a clean DFU restore of iOS 9.0.2 and after allowing my battery to run right down to power off, since the recharge it's been far better than my clean installs of iOS 9.0 and the OTA 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 I done on my 6.

I think the most telling item is: I have traded 8.4.1 on my 6+ with its current crop of bugs for 9.0.2 and some of the same bugs and a crop of new ones all while seeing the overall performance of my device slow down. All the folks at Apple or the Geniuses have been able to do is either encourage you to upgrade to a new device or perform a "reset as new device" which usually doesn't help.

I use an iPhone 6S+ for work, a Note 5 for personal, and a iPad Mini 3 LTE for general consumption.

Why should I sell my brand new phone because it has software issues?

That's good to hear. Thanks. I'm hoping 9.1 is just as fast as 8.4.1. I reaaaaallllly want to get on iOS 9 haha.

I'm finding 9.0.2 is far better than 9.0, although in the time I played around with 9.1 beta 4 things did feel a little smoother again, although I don't know if the old "iOS placebo" effect was in play.

iOS 9 will get there, it's just a sad fact that Apple spend a year making the latest version of iOS run so well, only to replace it with a new .0 release and the cycle begins again (apart from on the newest iPhone of course!).

The "proof" that an unscientific anecdotal individual obeservation applies to everyone the same exact way?

My 5S runs terrible on iOS 9. Have tried restore as new no back up.......

Thanks Apple.

New rule. Don't update past 2.

Mini 2 is messed up too. Feels like $100 android tablet. Used to be smooth as butter.

Well, that is certainly unfortunate for you for some reason. For many with those devices iOS 9 runs well (perhaps not perfect, but certainly nothing even close to terrible or even sub-par).

You guys would know much better than I would..

Getting some odd behavior on my iPhone 6 on 9.0.2...

If I reset the entire phone...is it alright to set up as new and then an iCloud restore of my data?

Or does restoring my data defeat the purpose of clearing the phone in the first place?

Would like a 'fresh start' - but, wouldn't be feasible for me to not have everything on my device.

I hope my question makes sense - please advise as to what's best. Thanks!

My Mini 2 runs just fine. Had a little slowdown during the first day, presumably due to indexing. Has been working fine since then.
