That's bull. It may slow down your phone a little bit, but scrolling should not be affected. Apps should still respond to your tap immedeately. And even if he was low on memory: iOS 8 didn't cause these issues.

Stop finding excuses. It's iOS 9 and it's the worst iOS release ever. Period.
Actually iOS 7 was the worst release but the phone was still useable. Imo, iOS 9 has been the best release in years. iOS 6 wasn't great either. Neither was iOS 8.

Funny how far off topic this thread has got. OP accused apple of deliberately destroying the ip6.

i wouldn't call it the worst release ever. Iirc, 8 had major bugs including rotation issues that made the phone and camera almost unusable. I'm running flawless but the bugs being reported are minor in comparison. Heard all the rhetoric back then also.
I guess since I'm bug free I find it hard to relate.

It's the first iOS release that makes one year old phones feel ancient. I think that's pretty bad.

What a cliché. Spare us with the same talk every year.

You're like that guy that comes along once a year and says omg iOS X is so bad worst release eva!!!1!

It's the first iOS release that makes one year old phones feel ancient. I think that's pretty bad.

No it doesn't. That's your perception, not mine, and certainly not the general public's. Most people are happy with their devices.

If you're not, sell it and go buy an iPhone still on iOS 8.

That made YOUR one year old phone feel ancient. Mine is fine. Improved even, with cool new features. Can't say my phones is noticibly faster or that battery life is drastically better, but as I've said it's definitely not worse.

What troubles me is that the more rabid fanboys who deny the performance hit of ios9 on older iPhones (and I don't consider the 6 that old to be honest) , the less likely apple are going to do a damn thing about it.
Even today I've face more stuttering, keyboard lockups, 3 seconds for an app to respond and launch after tapping on its icon. This is a real 'android experience' apple are giving me.
This is not the smooth iOS experience I am used to. Then again this happens to be the only year I've skipped upgrading, so perhaps apple always cripples the previous generations hardware this way..

Oh yeah and I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt that apple have made Touch ID slower to respond. The cynic in me thinks they have done this on purpose to 'sell' the benefits of the 6S

Do you get a black screen on every app launch?

Agreed.Touch ID response time seems slower than on 8.4.1 No question about it.

It pauses and takes a second before it even launches and when it does I get a blank screen (white or black) before it loads - this goes on for 2 seconds longer than it should. Overall, my phone is much slower

Dude, you got serious issues. I'm not having issues and if I am I haven't noticed them because I don't analyze every millisecond after I tap on an icon. I just live life and concern myself about other things that I consider more significant. The fact that you call anyone a fanboy who doesn't have issues or attempts to help you troubleshoot the problem clearly shows how immature you are. You should be banned.

Yep. I report clear performance problems after upgrading to ios9 (hence why they scream out as noticeable) and because I dare to be critical of apple , I should be banned.
Makes perfect sense..

I see the issue as more the dismisal of other posts saying the release is good and then calling names to those who post a different view point while at the same time generalizing your own use case as if it is fact to the world. 5s, 6, 6s all good as far as I go.

No, you are whining like a little brat on a message board and calling anyone who disagrees with you a fanboy. Your logic is basically "If I'm having the problems, everyone else should be having the problem."

You want results? How about report it to Apple via the support site. Having temper tantrums on a forum gets you nowhere. Grow up!

Yep, definitely need a thumbs down button. Lol!
I consider myself a 'power user' and I noticed the difference right away after installing ios9. Fed up with people making excuses for Apple. This is definitely intentional.

Have you ever considered that 9.0.x is crap and buggy? I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole right now. I'm not upgrading till 9.1. And no, I don't believe it's intentional. What is intentional is when they stop supporting a device but since they already give the longest support in the market, it's hard to fault them.

No need to go tin foil on us. It's just buggy software. Give it a rest. If you were a real power user you'd know to stay away from newly released software because new software has bugs and is inefficient to "power" usage.

My touch ID is MUCH slower than it was. Glitchy, laggy operation, all the stuff the OP mentioned I am presently experiencing. I've reset permissions, restored from a backup, restored and set up as new. My 6 plus is definitely much worse than it was. Wish I had never updated the IOS. And I'm a fanboy. But IOS 9 is worse.

How about I can apply the same logic to your ******** arrogance as well? "Oh if I'm not having problems then nobody is!" Seriously step down off your ivory tower and realize people ARE in fact having problems and it's not 100% either way.

Ok Macrumors Newbie, as your title clearly states, you need to dial down the misguided anger a notch. I only tried to help the guy with a possible solution and was called a fanboy? Now, you rally behind him with more anger and no logic without knowing the full scope of the situation? It's very clear you two have issues. I'm just not sure the phone is the biggest issues you guys have.

Take care.

The 'fanboy' comment was most certainly not directed at anyone personally, so I am unsure where you got that from.

I've been watching threads for years there champ, it doesn't matter when I started posting and I signed up long before you. There is no anger here, but all you people that seemingly have no problems start rushing in when someone DOES have a problem all to claim that since you don't, then nobody does. Also, that's the whole point of a forum, in case you forgot, to share both sides of an issue or topic.

Finally, and I saved this for last, is how do I not know the full scope of the situation? I've been watching this thread from the beginning and I happen to have a 64GB iPhone 6+, that if you had paid attention, you'd already know and therefore puts me squarely in a position to speak on this. It's very clear to me that people like YOU have an issue dealing with the idea that there is anything out there beyond your own nose.

Please show me where I posted anything that resembles the "since I don't have problems, no one else does" statement you conjured up? Go ahead, I'll wait.
