I've had every iPhone since the 8GB OG iPhone so save your lazy-ass Android or Blackberry comment.

All I expect is an OS that at least does the core things right and the way it's promised. If you're going to extoll the virtues of switching to something new (Metal) that you claim will boost performance, but then every device sans the one you JUST announced suffers in various ways due to that, then I call ********.

The end.
So, iOS versions should be tied to the hardware -- The end. An OG 8GB iPhone will never have the App Store, but at least it won't be weighted down by a turd of an OS. The end justifies the means. Don't screw over your customers phones by slowing them with new software.

Apple Keynote:

"We've got these great new features, but we're not releasing them for older hardware because any slow down is unacceptable. Also, you'd just accuse us of killing your battery anyway. But Safari is snappier. That phone you have now is a brick. Good luck getting any resale value for it. Our new phone goes on sale in one month. Make sure to get your pre-order in!"

I'd far and away take an iPhone 4 on iOS 7 then on iOS 4. An iPhone 4s, on iOS 5 instead of iOS 9?

is this a joke..? people still believe this.? people think hardware doesnt age.? not like the iphone 6 is "slow/freezing/stuttering/locking up/etc" anyway, unstable android? have u even used an android like gingerbread..?

so many questions..
Mate, at every SINGLE release of iOS this forum is stormed by whiners like him.
And I mean every single release.
Conspiracy and bs like this are typical of this forum.

'Power user' that can't figure out that there's something wrong with his device, either its hardware or software.
Don't you know ? Every time you read "lags" in a thread, there is a power user involved.
What a power user really is , is beyond my comprehension.

Welcome to iOS land. I bet you haven't even used devices with iOS 6 and earlier.
I did, since the first iPhone.
And planned obsolescence is a BS typical of forum like this.

u need to reread ur own inaccurate rant, my quote to it, then this post i just quoted. holy god u are everywhere including upside down. if u think its so bad then leave apple, but thats so hard for u isnt it? instead u want to stay, then post some rant calling us liars & unable to have perspective bla bla, reworded into ur own words, then have a fit when someone doesnt buy into that crap.

/logic/ keep using something thats "so bad" /logic/

a great idea, why dont u go back and shove 8.4.1 or whatever was "perfect", in ur mouth? oh wait, the signing window is closed, like most such as urself, probably didnt think about going back quietly, while u could right? too busy screaming how bad ios 9 is? dont worry in 10 months, ull praise ios 9 & hate ios 10.

okay.

Please, once again, amateur hour, what about my rant is inaccurate? I said I have a 6+ that is quite laggy in certain aspects. I also said I have a number of friends who have 6's that also exhibit SOME of the behavior. If you want to keep posting ignorant trash and using "u" for "you" et al and rambling on about how I'll hate iOS 10 and all this other garbage, then go elsewhere troll.

Oh please do tell, I want to know precisely how you come to assume that my logic is somehow dictated by a certain decade. In other news, you can't properly construct a sentence, troll every topic with useless and unintelligible gibberish, fall back on completely tired rhetoric, etc.

Go away troll.

Over exaggerating just like many seem to do about this micro stuttering. Or are we on to nano stuttering yet?

Do you not believe that scrolling on a 6+ should be a smooth affair? Call it however you want, I don't give a **** what adjective is used to describe it honestly.

Just tired of people like you espousing your opinion and passing it off as "fact" and then when that fails because someone calls you out, you fall back on some trope like I don't understand english (LOL) all while absolutely butchering the English language as you do it. I guess it's true that forums need garbage like you to continuously be ignorant so the rest of us can have something to talk about.

No, you're right, there "shouldn't" be any stutter. But the fact is, that there is. I only have it sometimes on my 6, and it doesn't always appear on the same animations every time that it does happen. It's pretty random. I've sent feedback about it asking them why the Metal improvements don't seem to line up with the 1.6x or 1.8x increase they quoted.

I have confidence that it will get sorted out in later updates (not blind Apple fanboy garble.) It just not worth it to get so angrily upset over a piece of software that still functions really well outside of some frame drops in animation.

OMG! Are you guys seriously going to keep this going? If you don't like your phone then just toss it in your fireplace, drown it with gasoline, light it up and get another one.

Look, it's not a monumental deal-breaker issue, I just think it's sort of a white lie that they claimed that iOS 9 would bring about performance enhancements in moving all the GPU processes to Metal, and on the flagship device that's only a year old and certainly more than capable of being buttery smooth, it's not. That's it. That's the whole point of everything that I've mentioned in every post I've made.

Do I have faith they'll get it up to par in future point updates? Honestly who knows, I just think that with the amount of time and resources they've had dedicated to something that was truth or not a tentpole feature of iOS, that so far it's been completely bunk and a step backwards FOR ME and my 6+ 64GB. I do not speak for everyone, and I know that many 6's work just fine, my good friends included (except for the pull down to search, which seems to be jacked for everyone).

It's certainly nothing worth throwing my phone into a ditch about, but can't we ALL expect to have performance on par with what was initially told to us? I don't think that is too much to ask at all.

Same thing happened with iOS 8 though. It was "laggy" and all sorts of things vs iOS 7.1.2. Then all of a sudden everyone started saying 8.4.1 became the greatest iOS and now 9.0.2 is the new "terrible iOS"

Also the pull down search thing is quite a bit deceiving. It does get choppy when you pull it down for the first time after a while of not using it. However, that animation it uses is so ridiculously short (the distance it moves) that if you pull down quick it only looks like it skips all animations and just "appears". If you pull down very very slowly you can see just how short of a animation time/distance it has. So it kinda gives off an illusion it's so choppy that it skips the animation.

Actually am experiencing most of what the OP had listed with my 6+ although I doubt it was planned by apple.

Almost considering resetting my settings. Seems to have helped in the past.

umm I am running the beta 9 version 3 and the first two didn't make my 6+ run like this

I refuse to be one of the people lumped into the "iOS 8.4.1 was the greatest ever" category, but truths are truths and it performed better than 9.0.2 has to this point. I realize also that much of the underlying code has to be rewritten when you go to a .0 release, even if the layers above and visuals stay the same, in order to incorporate new features. I also feel like a phone that was only a year ago touted as being so powerful is now struggling to handle instances of an OS that it should not be struggling with, no matter what.

There are also plenty of ways that 9.0.2 is BETTER than prior releases, there are many great features that I use. The fact still remains however that I feel as is performance itself took a step back. Once again this is no way, shape or form a reflection of the WHOLE, but rather, at least IMO, indicative of something gone wrong with rendering. Removing the resolution delta between the 6 and 6+, there is no way that a 6 should be as smooth as it is while the 6+ struggles mightily in some situations to accurately and smoothly render what is being drawn on the screen, especially given Apples claims that Metal was supposed to do wonders for that exact thing.

Point is, it's all moot until something happens. Me bitching about it on a forum won't speed up the process or even change any outcome. I would just like to have the same performance parity across the board, at least for devices that should absolutely not break a sweat with iOS 9.
