The Express is not - to my mind - a serious source. It was in The Express. But I read it in the Sky Sports Football app.
As for Everton yes they have sailed close to the wind.
All journalism isn’t a serious source these days. Just articles designed to build engagement whether it’s true or not. Just helps with the ad revenue. The Express is not - to my mind - a serious source.
Sky Sports....hm.
I wouldn't say "all". some, yes, most certainly. All journalism isn’t a serious source these days. Just articles designed to build engagement whether it’s true or not.
Too true.Just helps with the ad revenue.
Actually, when at home, I still buy newspapers - in fact, I have the week-end FT delivered to my letterbox (thanks to my local shop, they are very good, they keep organic milk for me weekly, as well, and also deliver some citrus fruit to me each week) every Saturday when I am home.I’m talking online of course. I haven’t bought a physical newspaper in over a decade.
I never see any news about the Royals. One of the reasons I like reading the newspaper headlines and news online. I just read the ones that interest me.I wouldn't say "all". some, yes, most certainly.
Some newspapers and/sources are still serious, and, if they make a mistake, or get something wrong, it tends to be an honest mistake (I'm thinking about the Guardian, The Economist, the FT, for example, each of which I have subscribed to; when she was still mentally sharp, and alert and able, my mother used to love taking The Economist with her to bed to read, I kept the subscription for years partly for her).
Too true.

The Guardian, I read online, along with some others.
However, as for the Express: All you need to see are the absolute plethora of Harry & Meghan stuff they publish, mostly pure drivel, which - clearly (and unfortunately) - drives (reader) engagement and thus, alas, ad revenue.
I'm laughing, reading your post.If anyone in the UK particularly in London picked up a free copy of the Evening Standard today and read the article on football watch I hoped you laughed as much as I did. The other passengers on the train must have wondered what the hell I was reading. Not directly quoted but......
Don't ever talk about it. If someone brings up the subject deflect the conversation as soon as you can. Don't think about it when you are bored at work, don't write it on the back of your hand with a ball point pen. If another teams supporter brings 'it' up change the subject as soon as possible. 'it' is never to be spoken about. Don't dream about it, don't think it, don' say it. If you overhear a conversation about 'it' walk away, run away.
What am I talking about? The possibility that Tottenham could win the EPL this season hahaha
Again to continue with the article I read but my own take on it. No plagiarism intended.
Tottenham last won the league in 1961. I was born in 1960, I have been married three times, I have four daughters, my mother is now a great grandmother and STILL WE HAVEN'T WON THE LEAGUE
Don't even whisper 'it' in dark alley ways or places you think no one can hear.................
If Spurs win the League I'd be more than surprised. But imagine how Kane would feel!As I speak its half time Crystal Palace 0 Tottenham 0 will they fold now or go on to victory and go 5 points clear before anyone else plays at the weekend? does it really matter?
Arsenal (don't quote me) were 5 points clear of Manchester City last season going into April and they still didn't make it. Squad strength and injuries. That will befall Spurs at some point.
Which is probably helping their league position somewhat. No other distractions. I still don't think they maintain it before they get SpursyOh it is so early days and Harry has broken a record at Bayern already but I think they are sitting 3rd in the league today? it must play on his mind a little but don't forget he is playing in the Champions League and Spurs have no European football at all this season.
In truth, I rather like Harry Kane, (and always have) but that thought - which hadn't actually occurred to me - is simply hilarious. If Spurs win the League I'd be more than surprised. But imagine how Kane would feel!
Complete agreement from this Arsenal supporter.Whatever happens I wish Harry Kane the best because he deserves it. The man is an icon in football already for Tottenham, England and I suspect soon Bayern Munich
Well, yes.Back to that article in the Evening News. As a Spurs supporter the writer says ' it's the hope that kills you'!
One of the keys in trying to challenge for, (remain rooted to, and stay in), the top spot is managing to win games (consistently) with a fairly average performance. And so the hysteria continues after an average performance. Crystal Palace 1 - Tottenham 2 now 5 points clear at the top before the weekend games and we will still be top until next weekend.
I can hear the terraces now 'Tottenham Tottenham top of the league' I have been guilty of singing it myself in past years but it is usually short lived !!
Agreed. So I have lamented enough about my Tottenham experiences who will win the EPL this season? I am going Man City again I don't think anyone else will be able to sustain performances with the squads they have over a full season.
