No. He leaked the specs of the M8 Mini. It's a lock that the One+ (which is most likely the official name given EV's recent tweet showing the keynote invite) will get the same camera as the M8 Mini.

As a PSA, if any of you are interested in the M8 then you should be following Evleaks on Twitter. His leaks are facts, not rumors, and just about every big name tech site rushes to post the news he leaks as soon as he reveals it on Twitter.

Evleaks said the SGS5 was going to have QHD screen and 3200 battery, remember that tweet?

Also, why would HTC demoed the dual camera setup at MWC to then not use it with their new One? It's gonna have a dual camera setup, and there was a report that they are forced to use the ultrapixel camera due to an agreement with the manufacturer, so I bet it will be 2 and 4, just like the demo on MWC.

I don't see the point of having a 13Mpx and a 2Mpx next to it... Makes no sense.

Yep it's basically thanks to a launcher I'm able to put up with the worst of Touchwiz too.

Agreed with everything you specified--hit the nail on the head. And there's one more aspect of TW that a launcher can't fix and it's the notification panel. I admittedly haven't used a Note III but the notification panels on the previous galaxy devices I owned were terrible--the same cartoonish design in a font that's ridiculously oversized. NOVA Prime masks much if the hideousness that is TW but it sadly can't change this and next to the home screens, it's the part of the OS I spend the most time looking at.

No I don't remember that tweet. Feel free to show it to me.

Believe whatever you want. Maybe you are right. Maybe the M8 Mini isn't getting a double camera on the back and hence the 13/5 layout. I have no clue. I'm just going on what EV has told us.

I am really expecting at least an 8MP camera on the new HTC One, on the current 4MP the picture quality just does not compare to one taken by the iPhone 5S. If they still keep the 4MP shooter I am very likely going to switch to Nexus since I will not have subsidized prices anymore.

I really am excited for this device and wonder if I should replace my Nexus 4 with this or go the WP8 route with the international version of the Lumia Icon at the end of the year if they are still current flagships. A bigger screened iPhone has not been ruled out.

Noticed from the HTC One (2014) that the chrome bezels on both sides are gone. The M8's side looks more like the One mini from last year with the plastic chamfered edges around it. The backside chrome is completely gone. That white plastic bezel is what turned off my Wife from getting the One mini. She likes the silver chrome trim next to white similar to the white iPhone 5/5s and glacial silver HTC One (2013).

I really liked that silver trim from the M7 especially when the light hits the phone in a certain angle. Looked very classy similar to the original iPhone and even the 5/5s which have them on both sides as well. I guess from a practical standpoint, the M8 should be a worthy upgrade just from "hopefully" improved cameras and bigger battery alone. From an aesthetic standpoint, M8 loses some points compared to the M7. Not quite revolutionary and evolutionary. Still the HTC One (2014) still looks much better than the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2.

There is some hope in regards to camera.

Article on Engsget by a company offering two lens system to OEMS / Manufactures

Now this is not the same company as HTC will have on the M8 but if near identical tech is already being pushed it would be a bigger disaster for HTC to settle for 2/4 config.

The big trick here is Corephotonics' use of two lenses with two different focal lengths. One lens is wide-angle, while the other is at 3x zoom. This means you can switch lenses to magnify more distant subjects without resorting to digital zoom. In the test set-up shown in the video above, which compared the dual-lens system side-by-side with a traditional smartphone camera (with both modules pointed at a test card around a foot away), the Corephotonics system outputted a clear 13-megapixel image regardless of whether it was at 1x or 3x zoom.

This gives hope for the HTC One 2014 to at least output 13mp or be damned if they don't....

I just looked hard online and I don't find this.

It's only from a couple of weeks ago (two or three max). Check websites like Phonearena.com where they showed that tweet from evleaks. He also said it was going to have 3GB RAM now that I remember.

EDIT: found the article on phonearena.com. The tweet was from Eldar Murtazin, not evleaks. Still, I wouldn't trust any of these leakers, and this article/tweet just proves it.

If you're going to be switching to Lumia I'd recommend waiting a month or so for Microsoft's Build developers conference where they're announcing Windows Phone 8.1 with massive upgrades along. I recently tried switching to Lumia, but couldn't because of the lack of a notification center or even basic toggles (I'm looking at you, rotation lock), but all of that is going to be fixed with 8.1.

Plus, if you wait till then the M8 will have been released and you'll be able to make a better decision.

I hope HTC trims some of the bezel in 2014. The HTC logo could be moved in the back. I wonder if HTC is having issues cramming components for their boom sound speakers at the bottom which i suspect is the reason for those bezels.

It must be,.. if that's the case they could keep the capacitive buttons there and give the user a choice btw on screen or capacitive buttons. Could be interesting..rather than just wasted space

Thing is I don't know if WP is something I should use. Google services are very important to me.

The bezels haven't changed on the 2014 update.

Looks quite good. This was a design that really didn't need much change in 2014..I can't get my head around the two cameras..perhaps early reviewers will cover that aspect thoroughly. 3GB RAM and a the new skin which is not much bloated compared to the smooth one they had on the one and this is the phone that replaces my note3.

I like the look of it....

I do too, and although I'd have preferred the front HTC logo to be gone, it's not a deal-breaker if the other features are compelling enough.

Mind you I'll still hold out to see the new iPhone, it'll be between those two for me.

The camera situation is my only concern. Provisionally it gets a better camera of 13mp for daylight shots, then I'll be getting one and selling my Note 3.

If it doesn't I will wait and see what the successor to the Lumia 1020 is.

the camera was the biggest reason I picked the S4 over the One

If the new One has a competitive camera + SD Card (do rumors still say it has one?), the choice is easier now IMO
