He alluded to being a Mac owner from '94. True, they knew about quality back then. I remember Dell servers I bought back then literally falling apart after delivery.

Oh how are the mighty fallen, etc etc (starts to mumble usual Sesshi rant)

Mind you, Apples did cost a lot more than Dells back then... But then they actually offered (a little) more in terms of hardware.

Remember when you complained about Macs being too expensive and wished they used cheap commodity parts like PC's? Congratulations, your wish was granted.

Did you realise Apple dropped the Think Different campaign years ago? And as brainwashed suckers we've forgotten the old message and adopted the new one, namely acting like Justin Long as a "Mac". So we say to you, "Buzz off and enjoy Windows on your Dell."

with programs ..read threads etc to just do a propper job ..that's all. As i
said, i could go somewhere else for that and play the hardwarebetatester

All of his posts have a spammy feel about them.

I think Apple have lost their way since the transition to having someone else manufacture machines for them. They need to come to grips with that to restore the quality reputation. They need to oversee the process a bit more because it's obvious that a few machines are slipping through their current process.

I'm reminded of the old days of U.S. car manufacturing. You weren't supposed to buy cars that were built on Fridays or Mondays because someone just wasn't paying enough attention.

well the MBP line has a lot of display issues that i think is just poor quality of the screens. Graphic professionals can not use them!! Apple says they are just anomalies and engineers wil look at the ones i went through that had poor display, but i think that't bull.

IMHO, the ipod has ruined quality on other lines because other lines are being ignored. I am sick to death of so much attention going to the ipod and not enough press on their other lines. IF the media pcked up on display concern over the the MBP line, then Apple would be forced to do something about it. But instead, the media has been focused on ipods and iphone rumors for the past 3 years.

It is important that those with quality issues, especially all these display issues on the MBP line, it is important you let Apple know. Send an email to sjobs@apple.com.

Um......my MacBook Pro is fine, and always has been (since August :D ). So, a few bad eggs got out, so what. Hasn't Apple been good about replacing or repairing them?

Um......my MacBook Pro is fine, and always has been (since August :D ). So, a few bad eggs got out, so what. Hasn't Apple been good about replacing or repairing them?

they tried to replace mine by sending me to the nearest store (Apple customer service is still the best imho). but the same problem there. I also want to point out that if i looked at your computer screen, i may see the problem where you don't see one. are you saying you don't have a bright spot across the screen at the bottom? on top of that there is a dark horizontal band. on top of that is just what i describe as a muddy look due to uneven back lighting. if you bring down the brightness on the screen, it's easier to see this problem. And of course you need a solid color to look at. i use green, brown or blue.

i looked at other MBP forums and people complained about this when MBP first came out in Feb and March, then the complaints stopped til the Core 2 duo laptops came out. I may be wrong on this, but that's what i saw. so maybe the problem reemerged when they switched to core 2 duo chips? I don't know, i haven;t been around long enough.

But mainly, i think you have to care about display issues to notice. one Genius at the store saw what I was talking about, admits he realizes why graphic professionals would complain, but he said he wouldn't care since he is a sound guy, not visual guy. so like i said, there are issues you may not notice or care about, but others do. these displays are not getting passing grades from graphic professionals or those who care about such things. These are not meeting 'pro' standards you expect after spending $3,000. that's all.
