Down to 2

Hello, im new to these boards but have been reading for a while now.

I have around 10 cases and i really enjoy the Incase Sliders.
But recently, i purchased the Griffin Reflect case and absolutely love it. It looks really cool and doesnt add much bulk. The smoked chrome contour looks great and the back has a nice rubbery feel to it without the lint catching problems. (It feels a bit like the black mat Incase slider)
The back is also a bit transparent so you see the Apple logo through the black mat finish. It also comes with a screen shield and a good sized cleaning cloth. Very well done Griffin.

I've come down to 2 choices... the Incase slider and hte Griffin Reflect. Which of these 2 would you suggest i get? (both look great to me, the difference is really in price i guess)

Both do look great but are different.

Incase Slider: I feel they are more solid than the Griffin cases. The metallic ones are my favorites but have grip issues. Pricey.

Griffin Reflect: Really nice classic look and no grip issues as the back is hard rubber and smooth. The chrome bezel fits perfect (its a sandwich case)
If you drop your phone from say 3-4 feet, i would think the Griffin case would open upon impact. The Incase Slider will not so safety wise, Slider.

If money is no object, get em both or just the Incase. If money is tight, the Griffin is an excellent choice. I bought mine for 15$ on sale.

Purchased the incase slider with my iphone 16GB a few days ago.

I like the feel of the rubber on the back. Thought I would have some issues with the two piece design, but the fit is snug and is not loose. It is a tight fit. Good protection.

Going to purchase Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint screen protector as well. Now I feel confident the iphone is well protected on all sides.

Ordered Speck holdster (waiting)
Ordered PielFarma wallet (waiting)
In the meantime I've been using an old Sony pda case made by The Pouch.
It's growing on me. Has a place for the earbuds even. Case is a bit oversized.
Just went to their site and they have one now for the iPhone. So now I'm three for three. Glad the Vaja doesn't have what I want yet.

Good for Vegans too! (I'm a Vegan myself but it's only in regards to food as of yet but thanks for that little push on my guilt button)

That looks really nice and bumps-proof, but I would only use that for traveling, not for everyday, I guess I don't picture myself getting the iphone in and out of the pouch over and over, but hey, that's just me! :)

Love people who actually post pics of the products their recommending and not just the name! Great case for laptops but not a big fan of it for smaller products. Hate the idea of having to slide it in and out the case whenever u get a phone call BUT it looks unique and is alot more pleasing to the eye than so many other ugly cases.

Ive got the incase slider and the griffen wave. I like both cases , the slider even though highly reccomended just seems a bit cheaper than you would think for a $30 case. Its still very well designed and thought out , but just a tad under in quality as far as plastics for the higher end cases (nothing insane just about what everyone is lookin for in a plain good case).

Its got some ridges , brittleness and cheapness to it...but anyhow let me twist you on this...its on the tops of my fav cases.

Now to the griffen wave. I prefer a case with some grip to it, the iphone was magically engineered to be slippy , tippy and break-ippy. So the griffen nailed it as far as feel , with its more grainy feel. Granted im comparing this against the shiny incase , im sure the flat feel is pretty darn good.

Next the profiling of the incase is better , really well contoured and less obtrusive than the griffen..but this is like by 1-2mm , very small but just figure I would note it to give a run down of what ive seen.

The slider will grab your screen protector unless you get lucky. The griffen is more open to pretty much all screen protectors.

Shock resistance , the griffen gets it , with its slighly thicker and softer plastic. As well as screen cracks the griffen will protector better as its got slightly slightly more girth , so it will push out further from the screen to provide more luck in a drop.

Taking apart the case to drop into a speaker dock. The incase wins , but in an oddly better fashion. Its a plain bitch to pull apart on mine , while the griffen is an odd noodle to pop open as well.

Nothing says to me conveience as far as docks....so ive just simply got lucky and have the imt702 altec lansing which allows you to lean the dock and adjust the base to pretty much make it perfect , so you dont have to take off cases without using any adapter.

All in all its a toss up , I have the griffen white and my girl has the incase white. Im ok with either case. Ill probably ask her to trade up to change things up. But paid 15 for the griffen shipped and 30 for the incase. But heres the catch , the griffen came with 2 cases , one in a blue and one in white/clear. So you can swap around with those or use the double set for 2 different phones. Pretty much making it 7 for the griffen and 30 for the incase...

Also the rubber inside the incase is very very slight. From videos and photos it looks better...its really almost non exsistant and just makes for a harder slide on and an almost impossible slide off.

My suggestion , just buy a few cases you like , sell the ones you dont and post you reviews to all of us to make your best choice yours and educate others......

- Peace. A.I

No Good

this case ripped in the upper corner and my red one faded now it looks pink. my yellow case ripped also same place:mad:

I just got my Switcheasy Colors in Stealth and honestly could not be happier. It is exactly what I need. Excellent protection, smooth and simple design, plus you get a generous offering of extras that you don't see with other brands.

I ended up getting the Griffin 8245 Clarifi with EasyDock for iPhone 3G for 16.00 of off amazon. Great price.

Me and my wife bouhgt 3 of these cases...(black, white and red) and they are very nice....they fit perfeclty to the iphone 3G without adding extra bulk, "they look and feel nice to the iphone 3G and also come with non-slippy surface.....The only thing i would be concern is that the touch panel remains totally uncover ( if the phone falls horizontally the case will protect it 'cause the rubber edge embraces the phone, but otherwise the panel will suffer) so you have to be carefull with your phone anyway. Considering of that problem, I am also using an transparen screen protector, and I am in love:p

Incase Slider - Black

I’m not a huge fan of cases; I love my iPhone just the way it is. The only problems with not using a case are scratches, fingerprints and overall protection. Several months ago, I tried a leather Case-Mate. The Case-Mate was okay but added bulk and was not docking-friendly. I ordered the black Slider case last week. WOW! It’s almost like not even having a case. No bulk! I don’t even have to remove the bottom portion of the case to use my Sony docking station…BONUS! I also purchased Power Support’s anti-glare films. The slider and anti-glare films are the ultimate combination. I feel like I have a brand new iPhone! I highly recommend this dynamic duo.

I just got my SwitchEasy Colors. It's really soft to the touch and it also covers the button! :) It's different because it's thicker than usual so I can grip it better. I got it in white (Milk) and it's the best case I've had on my phone so far!

Right now I'm using a Belkin Leather Case.

I like the snug fit and professional appearance. It's also very protective. I don't like the amount of bulk it adds to my iPhone.

After 2 months of use I don't like the the nice design of my iPhone being hidden under a case like this.

Fortunately I have not dropped my iPhone once. So I have decided to go fore a slimmer case. Going 'naked' is a step too far for me.

Today I ordered 2:

1.) Moshi iGlaze 3G in Graphite Black:

2.) Cretouch iPhone 3G Ultra Thin Case leather grip - Brown

I'm really looking forward using those cases!

SuperSlim handmade 100% leather pouch

I too am not a fan of fixed cases. I like use the iphone in its bare s e x y form when I wish to use it but slip it into a protective pouch when not in use. I use a 100% genuine handmade leather pouch from New Zealand. Its called the SuperSlim from Ikonicedge. A very stylish pouch that's not made in China. There is also a Slim version with a credit card slot without adding any bulk. Highly recommended.

Incipio Feather! If you're looking for a case that WON'T add any bulk whatsoever, this is the case for you! Comes with 2 screen protectors too! The texture of the case feels great.

the iSkin Revo is hands down the best, it's about $30 (when i bought it) but it's worth every penny. I've dropped my iPhone about 3 or 4 times and nothing happens. Plus the soft silicone adds extra grip and comfort no more slippery phone. And you can bang on the plastic shield and it's like Captain America's Shield it's makes your iPhone indestructable no matter how hard you bang that shield. Plus the Privacy Filter / Screen Protector is a perfect 2 in 1 as it will block unwanted eyes from spying on you and and it's extra layer of protection for the screen. I've had this since i first got my iPhone and the phone still looks exactly like when i first got it. The only thing that has scratches is the shield and thescreen protector but it's better than the actual screen and those can be removed and replaced easily and cheaper than replacing the actual screen. Anyone looking for a case don't hesistate and get yourself the iSkin Revo you won't regret it.
