Contour Design

I started off with the rubber incase, but it ended up stretching so badly, that for the past couple of weeks I have been carrying it around with no case.

I am happy to report however that Contour Design just came out with a new iPhone case modeled after my favorite iPod case, the Showcase. I've had one of these on my 5.5G iPod for quite awhile and it is the best case I have used. I've never had stray particles find their way into the housing, it's never broken, it's taken more then it's share of falls and it remains intact. The clear plastic scratched a little bit, but it was never an issue when the screen was on.

Here are the pics of the new iPhone case:

It adds a little bulk to the phone, but if you are going to be on the go, outdoors, whatever, it does a great job protecting. The rubber sides are good for griping as well. I should have mine by Wednesday, I'll let you know how it fits the phone.

I am currently using this:

I like it because the iphone fits snugly inside with no movement at all, and it seems like i wont fall out even if the flap is open which is important because the velco of the flap isnt the best, you have to press down to make it stay in place.
But what I really want is the Iskin Revo:

I use this case too. Its great though pricey.

Best case ever? The Countour Showcase by miles. Everyday, I like it more than the day before. I shall name my first born Showcase. Check it out! :D

I got this Piel Frama case and love it to pieces. I've been using Piel Frama cases for years (going as far back as my Tungsten W PDA) and have always been EXTREMELY satisfied with them. They never wear out, stay clean-looking, etc. They're not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for.

So i'm torn between these 3:

1) iSkin Revo
2) BestSkinsEver Total
3) Sena Ultra slim pouch

Clearly BestSkinsEver is the cheapest. Is it a pain to install?

Just wanted to say that mybestskinever came in today and it's amazing. I'm two hours post install and I'm still tweaking any minor bubbles and getting the flaps perfect but this is well worth the 10 dollars. it really makes the back of the iPhone shine. Unless you really look at it hard and get up close you can't even tell it's installed.

I'm not sure where they ship from but I bought it on friday morning and it arrived today in KY.

I'm still waiting on my Power Support Crystal Film Set for the screen to come in.

Just wanted to add that the Power Support Crystal Film Set came in today and together with the best skin ever I really feel that my iPhone is now protected. I get to keep it nude and scratch free :)

I highly recommend both of these!

it's not to bad. I followed the directions to a tee and it went pretty smooth. over all I'm really happy with it, I did get just a little bit of dust but it's hardly noticeable and unless someone had the phone for a few days and looked it over they still might not find it. It's just I look at it non stop and once I found the little piece I can't stop starring at it even though it's on the back. hehe.

It took me about 2 hours from start to finish, the flaps where a little tough but like the directions say, once the solution evaporates it starts to bond. But it gives the phone some grip on smooth surfaces and it's defiantly going to keep it scratch free and in the nude!

I didn't use the screen protector, I went with the power support crystal film set which I'm extremely happy with.

The best case to get is the incase canvas. It doesnt bounce, it absorbs. There is a good bit of clearance for padding when setting the phone down on its face. Its really durable, fits well in the hand, and looks really sharp. The colors look great and its also a pretty different style case.

I wouldn't waste my time buying a plastic or rubber case. Seriously get the canvas.

I'll bet that you have scratches now. Check. Check now!

Not really. But thinking of trying something else out, like one of the transparent stick on ones, then into the incase or some other rubber case.

Edit:

In fact I just ordered the BodyGuardz "case." Hopefully it will do the job I am hoping for as to protect the phone from scratches, now to find a way that will protect from falls that is nice, which may remain my InCase which shouldn't have any scratching issues with the BodyGuadz on it.

I retract my endorsement. I picked up an agent18 case today, last one I might add, and I can say unequivocally that this is the best ever. It kinda looks like the iPod Touch from the front. Very slick.

I had been using the BodyGuardz, and I really liked it. The first "back" Guard didn't go on so well, so I ended up tossing it and using the second one. Once I got it in place it worked well, allowed for the basic beauty of the device to show though. I still used the incase when I went to work (in a garage) but not anywhere else.

However I ended up pulling it off after my iPhone died in order to send it back for repairs. So I just ordered the BestSkinEver for half the price, but still have the "applicator" solution and squeegee card from the BodyGuardz, so that will help with the application process. This should allow me to compare the two when on the iPhone, though I may use the second front cover from the Guardz if it is clearer then the BSE like so reports I have read state.

I think if you put a screen protector on the actual iPhone and then use the case from the iPod Video (5G) - This combination seems to work really work,

Well it does for me anyway!

I went with the best skin ever for the body per the recommendations in this thread.
http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/StoreFront

and for the screen I went with the Power Support Crystal Film Set for iPhone.
http://www.powersupportusa.com/products/iphone_filmset.php

it was 5 dollars cheaper than buying from Apple.

both should arrive next week so until then I'll continue to baby the body of the phone. so far it's got a little black mark and the only place it's been is my pocket.

i definitely agree. that's the best i've seen so far. Not sure why you have not chosen the bestskinever for the front as well ?

I have the seidio rubberised case and think it's great. The fit and quality is not perfect, but the overall impression, feel and lack of bulk makes it very attractive. I used the powersupport screen protector, but felt that it took away some of the extreme clarity of the display. On the other hand it reduced fingerprints and smudges. I'm now using the brando screen protector and it's exactly like using the glass, including smudges and all!

EDit: seidio case is going back because of a tab that has pushed through to the outside of the case. I still like the case, but it's a pain to get off if you want to clean underneath. I picked up an Agent18 last night and it seems extremely solid, though not as nice-looking as the seidio.

Don't go with the Sena Ultra Slim if you are going to use the BestSkinsEver skins. The case (though really nice) is very tight even when the iPhone is "nekkid" - too tight when a skin is on.

I'm always having that problem... ;)

Anybody who ordered the Sena Ultraslim, has it shipped yet? I ordered mine on the 7th and I still have not recieved word that it has shipped.

I got mine about a month ago and love it. I primarily use it when I just have the phone laying around our when listening to music at work and have it setting on the desk. It is very snug and thin. I use the Belkin vertical clip case all other times. I like it more than the horizontal because it does not feel like the phone will just fall out of it.

The Sena comes in a nice box with a nice pouch with a drawstring that is also handy to have. Kind of like the photo a few posts above this one.

I have used two cases. My first case was the Signature leather case from Case-Mate. This was a very nice looking case, but somehow it managed to scratch the bottom of my phone. Along with that it also would sometimes catch on my pocket when I was pulling it out. It was nice because you could take the belt clip on and off without having a stump sticking out for the clip.

My new case is the Agent18 case. http://www.agent18.com/scripts/prodview2.asp?idproductpages=16
This case is awesome. it covers the entire back of the phone and the metal rim of the front. This is really nice because the metal rim is the easiest thing to scratch. It fits extremely snug and leaves no room for dirt to enter and scratch the phone. The snug fit also makes the case extremely sleek, it also comes with a dock attachment that allows it to dock in some speakers and other things, even with the case on. I have only dropped my phone once with this case, but it was about a 4 foot drop on a tile floor. Nothing happened to the phone.

im having trouble on deciding if the iskin revo is really worth the 40bucks, and can u use the case without the crappy visor thingy? also what about the bestskinever is that reasonable protection?

I've got the iSkin Revo. I bought it to replace the rubber inCase which stretched horribly. I really like the Revo. It picked up lint the first few days, but as the silicone surface oils diminish, it stays cleaner in your pocket. It fits tight and the controls surfaces are easy to find and work well.

The screen protector is a bit gimmicky. I use it if I have keys in my pocket or put the phone in my bag. It makes it a two hand operation to answer a call if you have it on. The side of the skin adjacent to the touchscreen is a bit flimsy. We'll see how it holds up and keeps it's shape. So far so good. The colored areas on the front are thick and you have to work a bit harder to make contact with touchscreen options that are close. You get used to it and it's not an issue.

I'd say they should kill the screen protector and sell it for $29.99, but I like it.
