So NY was a *blast* as always, and the auto show was an extra special treat. Holy smokes, it was huge! I didn't go crazy with pics, just a few here and there.
The only tiny bummer: the classic Skylines weren't there, they were only on display for the couple of press days - the Nissan rep said they were from the Japanese museum and one (or two, can't remember) were from a private collection!
Speaking of, the GT-R has such presence. I think the design is so different vs. what we generally consider a sportscar, it kind of short circuits your expectations. While it doesn't (or didn't based on the last one I checked out, a '14 I believe) have the same material quality as a Porsche, it's put together so nicely. With the improvements in this new model, it seems more like a $100K car (vs. something like the Z06 which does _not_ have the mojo of a $110K+ vehicle).
The one on display was *stunning*.
The new ZL1 looked nicely badass, though the front grill is bit of a train wreck, wrong design and material choice. The fact that it's available in a convertible (I think that pic is on the wife's phone), is pretty amazing. 640HP with a 10-speed auto in a vert? Very nice. I'll be waiting patiently to see how Ford responds with the GT500 (and word is, it will also receive for the first time, an auto option, likely the same GM/Ford joint developed 10-speed)
No apologies, I want this as our new beach/tow/foul weather vehicle
The new Boxster, so beautifully simple, I mean, if given a budget that this fit into, I'd likely buy something else, but it ranks very high on my "I can really appreciate the execution" list
(Lighted bunny ears courtesy of my little G! They were a big hit at the show!)
Another winner from the Porsche area, the 911 R, big NA power, manual only, maybe the last of the pure "driver" 911s
I thought this was a good shot of the LC500, in most pics, you don't get a sense of how wide the rear track is, it's really got a beautiful shape (even if the front grill is a bit off, it works decently well on this model).

Per
@AutoUnion39 this is an M2 _not_ an M4, so I'm having my Car Guy license revoked ...
My little one was mesmerized by the M2 (no doubt due to the matching color schemes of the car and her backpack), good choice T !
You know, I don't know if I'd spend another $25-30K over something like an SS or a GT/PP (I do love my domestic muscle, not to mention, you're starting to approach another tier with other interesting options, even in the 1-2 year used market), but the new M is pretty spectacular.
I have a lot of other shots, some "regular" cars, it was pretty packed so quite a few where the car is buried behind a wall of anonymous asses, but I'll go through and follow up later - I actually need to tend to some work (OOTO for 5 days I'm sure will wreck this week ...)
