Looking great, DT! Can't wait to see them on the car.

The MG is eating up the higher compression.

Thanks, I only managed to get one mounted but it looks unbelievable - expectations exceeded!

Now I know why you chose to put on offsets.

Do you mean spacers? Those are coming off :)
[doublepost=1500596734][/doublepost]So I only got one mounted because one of the lugs was wacky - I had mentioned about the stock lugs being poop, well, one of them was too dinged to use the larger socket and the next smaller size was too big. I wound up using a slightly too small 12-point metric, hammered it on, managed to get it off.

Then the spacer was basically fused to the hub/rotor - I gave it some good wacks, didn't budge. Then I recalled I have a pulley/steering wheel remover, it's basically a big bolt with a rotating foot and a T bracket that can hold two bolts or two hooks. Yep, used the hooks on the lip of the spacer (like inside the hub, with the foot on the center of the hub). A few turns, one side, reset everything, another few turns it lifted right off. I took some time to clean up the rust, etc.

Bolted up the new wheel, used the new red lugs - holy hell, amazing, and the 305 out back looks INSANE, filled up the fender another 1/4"-3/8", so glad I tracked down the 35 series. The fitment is a good bit better than the OEM PP wheel with the 23mm spacer in terms of offset/backspace, the concave design, that's even more accentuated on the rear (11" at an ET +50).

Update:

Production starting in 1-1.5 weeks! Was able to secure a much sooner-than-expected allocation/production slot.

4J73 - 440i xDrive Gran Coupe
Premium Package Enhanced
M Performance Package
Fineline Anthracite Trim
Adaptive LED Headlights
Air Breather in Body Color
Carbon Black Metallic Paint
Ivory White Dakota Leather w/ Dark Oyster Stitching.

This is going to be a long/estimated 4-6 weeks!

Ordered the wife a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. All she wanted was cool gray khaki paint, moonroof and heated seats, which meant the top "Limited" trim and one of the two option packages (we chose the cheaper package). Taking delivery on Aug. 8 and getting it for $27,915.

After driving the 2017 Crosstrek and the 2017 Impreza (on new global platform) back-to-back, we decided to wait for the 2018 Crosstrek as it has been moved to the new global platform. So many upgrades on this car makes the old one pale in comparison. Far and away, I'm most impressed by the interior. Looks and feels like a premium car.

When my 330i gets long in the tooth, I may have to consider a WRX of some kind.

Just picked this up on Monday. It’s my first luxury car and I absolutely love it.

It’s an Audi Q5 and the interior is really fantastic. It’s got a huge panoramic sunroof which makes it feel big and airy. Currently working on getting rid of the front license plate holder.

The new Q5s have been popping up everywhere around here.

Congrats!

Congrats! These, as well as the A5 and A3 are Audi's bread and butter right now. They are shifting a lot of units. I see them everywhere. I think dealers are offering good options on them too.

Audi is working hard to recover from diesel-gate.

The RS5 is another case though...that's just daylight robbery for a V6. Better off with the C63.

I got about 7% off the MSRP. I negotiated it all over the phone. Was honestly the best car-buying experience I’ve ever had. Audi doesn’t play games like other companies do.

Congratulations! Looks good. I counted several of those this week.

True. Thought I believe the C63 is due for a refresher. You do get a lot less power going with an Audi S or RS compared to the others, but you might get stuff the others don't have.

HFS.

Well THAT turned into a chore ...

Our story so far:

So I only got one mounted because one of the lugs was wacky - I had mentioned about the stock lugs being poop, well, one of them was too dinged to use the larger socket and the next smaller size was too big.

So the other rear went much quicker, I was ready with the 12-point (that I did need again), and with the pulley remover trick.

The fronts however, had a plastic sort of cap over the end of the hub/spindle, so I couldn't use it to rest the foot of the puller - I did manage to get the hooks slid past it, they made a good connection. Mallets, heat, prying ... ugh. Re-installed the wheel for leverage, used a big 2x8 to bang from the other side underneath. So I kind of stew on this for a while, write some code, consider mowing ... I try the puller again, and try to rest it on the stud and hook it under a couple of nuts. Just slips loose and knowing it requires a good amount of force it's a no go.

I mow :D

Back to the wheel, I puts the hooks into the center like before, hook up the screw/bracket, and realize I just need something to span the spacer and brace again the hub/rotor. So I look for a while and settle on using a couple of deep sockets (the same height) and a 7/8" wrench - holy smokes it works at least in that it gives me a pull brace, however the wrench actually bends, like 1/2", this is a solid Husky tool - so brake that down, and pull out my huge 1-1/2" wrench, same setup - just when I think it's moving the contraption explodes - and with force! I think it was a socket that shot at me like a projectile, hit me in the knee (that'll be a nice bruise ...).

BUt OMG, the spacer is about 3-4mm pulled out - I use a small, sturdy pick, hammer it all around the outside till it lifts off. Wow, corrosion, rust, it's crazy. So I clean it up and mount one of the fronts (finally) - the other side I use the same trick with the wrench and two sockets to make a bridge to brace the puller, cover it with heavy towels in case it explodes again - several turns, clunk, pulls right off, had the other side done in like 20 minutes.

All four are mounted, used the new red lugs, wow, it's stunning - nothing beats an aftermarket wheel setup - even if it takes 4 hours to bolt up :D

Pics later.

Which is why I always advocate greasing everything that makes contact with another metal. Anti-seize for the threading, regular grease on the outside. How did you remove the rust? Dremel with wire brush attachment or sandpaper?

I'm south, taking a break from the diving today (got chased out of the water by a curious bull shark yesterday :D )

Did a pass with a wire brush on a B&D drill, followed by a little finish work with sandpaper. Planning on some slick 2-piece rotors since these new wheels really show off the brakes.

What's the 411 on the GT500 rumors? True or not?

A guy in a little side group from our main board is an engineer involved with Ford, there are definitely GT500 test mules with various setups tooling around Detroit, the specifics of a couple I'm aware of, one is extremely interesting, and I'll just say it's a bit of a departure from the previous design (in terms of powerplant, but it's still a V8 :) )

The S650 development has been moved to an earlier release, so it will interesting to see where they try to schedule it. Soonest would be as a MY19, that's only a couple of years of production.

Interesting news, the MY18 GT specs have been released, it's up from 435/400 to 460/420, more power everywhere, mated with the new 10-speed auto it's a sub-4 second 0-60 car (though I hate using that as too much of a performance metric, we're not driving Telsas ... :D )

Sounds great. Can't wait to see the rotors. Funny you mention that 10 speed. Is it the same one that Ford and GM built together, but did their own programming on? Apparently it's excellent in a few Chevy's that have come out with it. Apparently it's on par with the ZF8.

The new GT specs are interesting. Though the new car is supposedly as fast as a base 911. The Ecoboost isn't too far behind. The new Ecoboost will be making more power than a decade old GT. Let that sink in. More value for the money. However, and being quite serious here, I suspect we'll see more hooliganism by new Mustang owners that result in the car sliding its rear onto a sidewalk.

Those tires look awesome, D.T.

How quickly usually does everyone here have buyer's remorse? I think this is the first time I've ever had it. Usually I keep a vehicle for 3-4 years before I sell it and move onto something else.

I've had an S3 for only 9 months and there's a lot I like about it: It is surprisingly explosive off the line, even when I'm not using launch control. Has a good amount of tech, but some of it is garbage (Audi Connect). I do like using Google Earth for navigation. The car is easy to drive, handles well, has amazing brakes, and really came alive with some aftermarket software to increase power.

However... I keep looking at the S6. I'm starting to wish I had spent a little more and picked up a CPO S6 for the twin-turbo V-8 and extra room. I had looked at the S4 also, but the increased space wasn't as significant. I found the S3 was more fun to drive and was faster overall so I crossed the S4 off the list. I didn't even have the S6 on the radar when I made my purchase but now I keep finding myself looking.

Maybe the next car. I'm curious to see what others have to say -- or even what their possible next purchase would be.

How about a Cadillac CTS V Sport or a Lincoln Conti Black Label?

Beautiful interiors!

RS3 or bust

Are they out?!

This is my new ride! It's a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace. I've had it about a month and I'm loving every minute! :)

Nice! Which engine? Trim? More pics?

@A.Goldberg needs to get his **** together and FINALLY get a new car...

If you could find a CPO S6/7 with the rare DAP... that would be sweet

Nice F-Pace. I'm looking to potentially invest in one. The problem I'm facing is the dealers around here have a ton of leftover 2017 inventory and plenty of 2018's coming in but are so unwilling to budge on price.

If I went the 2018 route I'd want he Portfolio trim, but right now they seem to be very uncommon and where I do see them (far, far away) they only seem to be manufactured in white. And I'm not looking to buy a white one.

Excuses excuses. White is a great color for the F Pace!
