I like Saabkyle too. I kept going back to his review of the Camaro SS and his sounds video when getting myself hyped up for my car when I ordered it.

The reason SaabKyle has over 1 million subscribers is strictly because he is the most detailed and knowledgeable over any of these car reviewers on YouTube. His channel literally exploded approximately three years ago when he started reviewing press cars almost twice a week. He is extremely articulate and he has worked hard for his channel, which clearly shows his success. Although I don’t subscribe to him, I do frequent his channel quite often. I Did see his reviews with the V6 and V-8 Camaro comparison, which were well done.

I also like Matt Maran( formerly subaruwrxfan). You can always tell he is a true car guy because when he gets to review vehicles he is excited about, you can always tell( see his Camaro ZL1 review video). I can't wait until he gets his Bullit. He will be like a kid in a candy store. :)

I like Matt. He’s probably the most genuine of all the car reviewers on YouTube. His reviews are usually straightforward with what he likes and doesn’t like with interior, gauges, right height, suspension, etc. When he drives a fast car and his Acceleration down a back road is priceless to see his face.

He Actually already ordered the 2019 Bullitt approximately three days ago and I believe it’s scheduled to be delivered sometime in the summer for him. I’m sure he will have plenty of videos discussing that. He will be one the first YouTubers to actually have hands-on and own the Bullitt with his channel. The only thing I want to say about Matt, is he needs to slow down a little bit when he is talking, he talks so fast, it can be difficult understand him at times. I do like his channel as well. He is also very consistent. He deserves way more than 330,000 subscribers.

You just have to be balanced and fair to get my attention( and no clickbait BS). And as stated, I like the in depth stuff some of these guys do( Engineering Explained, SavageGeese, and Saab to a lesser extent).

Speaking of clickbait. I used to watch Autovlog, which his channel is growing considerably every single day. He literally rose over 40,000 subscribers in the last two months alone. But the part of the problem with his channel, is he has constant Clickbait thumbnails and he is notorious to do whatever he can to gain subscribers/viewers for his channel. Unfortunately, his channel changed for the worse, even during his videos, he constantly remarks to his promoters and I don’t like that.

Although, Autovlog has the best two reviews of the Ford Taurus SHO on YouTube. Both of his reviews were immaculately executed and was the deciding factor to help me decide for my purchase last year. It’s just unfortunate I don’t agree with the turn his channel has taken, as it just seems desperate to get attention.

Yeah his face under acceleration runs is priceless. And how fast he speaks is what I meant on how you can tell he is excited about the particular car he is reviewing. If he is super stoked to be driving it, he speaks incredibly fast like he does in his ZL1 review when he says, " Hello subaruwrxfan here".

That is how genuine he is and I like it. It's just not another reviewer just stating stuff. It's a car enthusiast getting to drive these awesome cars and just so happens to review them for us. When he drives more mundane cars, he does slow down his speaking.

I can't wait to see the Bullitt.

I discovered autovlog due to his idiotic decision to drive into the river that used to be a road and hydrolocked his Mercedes and went oh poor me boohoo. That was my first and only time watching him.

Matt has a lot of consistency with his reviews. Everything is very structural and I like that about him. And usually about all the good things and bad things about a car he addresses very quickly versus trying to draw his review out to be 25 minutes or longer. But I also look forward to seeing his Bullitt and boasting 475+ horsepower from Ford, I’m sure his face will be utterly excited.

That ZL1 is a stunning car. Truthfully, if I had not purchased my Mustang, that would be a secondary option for me. I really like the front grill set up.

AutoVlog (Mike) basically committed insurance fraud claiming that another vehicle splashed water on his vehicle during a heavy rain, which water penetrated the Turbo’s and destroyed his engine. He actually lost quite a few subscribers during that time, as others did not believe his story of what really happened. I think we all know he drove through a flooded street in the right height of the C63S suffered water damage.

I will say the aftermarket work he has put into his new C63S AMG looks absolutely stunning. He just purchased a brand new Ford raptor for his wife as well. Although I’m not huge fan of the channel, seems he is successful for some reasons I don’t agree with.

His biggest mistake was posting a picture of his car stuck in that river. Even if I believe a car splashed water into the intakes, WTF was he thinking take the car onto that flooded road? You wouldn't be seeing me risk my Camaro.

Honestly Autovlog and the other kids with these nice cars are dolts who do these stupid things because they have people tuning in wanting to see stupid things. Streetspeed717 with his ridiculous wraps on the 'Vette's, he straight piped his McClaren( WHY), etc. Of course he is also a huge clickbaiter. Though I can't wait to see his ZR1, but the content keeps on getting ridiculous.

Says the guy without one!

Clickbait does wind me up though. Along with adverts and blatant product endorsements. I don't watch too many for those reasons.
Something our countries share in common. Your silly PM. Our tangerine idiot. Things they say often sound like they've come from a gutter press tabloid. But it's real!

Depends on the person. I think you'd enjoy the four pot a lot. It's got plenty of power and it's mated to stable transmission. The engine also isn't high strung like similar four pots.

Honda Pilot in AWD format can tow 5,000 lb with the optional towing package. Has a third row, not a land behemoth, can be optioned with 2nd row captain's chairs, leather interior, etc. Fit and finish should be as good as the Acura or better.

Nah, wife totally not into it, I don't blame her.

She's not Train, she's more Metallica :D

To Giulia or not to Giulia?

You'd have to _really_ be into the marque, the exclusivity, it's a decent ride at the sport level, with the appropriate driver/safety packages, somewhere in the $42-45K range. Do you have a local dealer?

Of course, if you're talking about the Quadrifoglio that's a whole different ballpark (but you're also in the M car territory, if you're into euro imports)

Like, “What happens when I put my car in park at driving 85 MPH!” Or “How fast can I drive in reverse while slamming on my brakes!”

I refuse to support video’s like that. Nor will I subscribe to any Content that portrays juvenile behavior.

Something else. I don’t see the appeal in wrapping a vehicle. I know it’s a much cheaper alternative than painting a vehicle and you can literally have any color you want on a wrap, but I just don’t like the fact that it’s “Sticker” like. I See this trend becoming more popular from various Car shows/Cars & Coffee events previously attended, but its a hard pass for me.

I've actually seen quite a few 2018 Honda Accords on the streets here in Sacramento, CA. Probably because of the nicer weather in California, the Accord is popular here. But then, there are way more 2017-2018 Honda CR-V's on the streets, perhaps Honda's most popular model right now (Honda has three assembly lines making the CR-V in North America and they still can't keep up with demand).

Given the popularity of "crossovers," this is why Toyota MUST "hit a home run" (to use the American sports expression) with the 2019 Toyota RAV4 due this fall. While the current model is selling well, it's starting to age compared to the latest smaller SUV's from other manufacturers. We'll see the final production version at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.

re: DT's SUV Replacement

So ...

The 3rd row has gotten more priority, it's not a _must_ just yet, but it wasn't even a thing for several weeks.

(Reminder: we're still not interested in a land behemoth, i.e., Yukon/Sub/Expedition)

The MDX has taken a drop in the polls :D Like the wife pointed out - and I agree 101% - if you're buying a class of vehicle that doesn't support one the key attributes of the class, why consider it? Of course, an "SUV" has a pretty nebulous definition anymore, but there are a number of them I'd move into the "crossover", more of a SAV (in BMW parlance), or a "sport wagon".

i.e., it can't tow. Not that is has a poor towing capacity, but Acura specifies you are not to tow with it, so it has 0 lbs capacity. I'm not sure where that leaves even a trailer hitch (like for our bike rack ) as you can't even configure the SH with one, so not sure if you have to go 3rd party or if the OEM part still fits[?]

Second hit: no local dealer. Sure, it's a Honda, it won't break, etc., but if it does, the two Acura dealers are each an hour away, through some craptacular areas of town to drive.

So that's your 3rd one? Do you have a garage/workshop?

Fun, I like these sort of posts, looking forward to seeing the progress.

My aunt just bought a new MDX to replace her old MDX. Honestly I’m not a huge fan of Acura right now. The quality and features doesn’t seem quite as good as others, but I suppose they’re a better value compared to Lexus or the Germans. Acura’s are nice, but the level of refinement seems a step below the competition. And this is kind of a weird opinion but I have found I don’t really like the smell of Hondas and Acuras.

I don’t know if it fits your needs quite right but the Highlander is a pretty nice car (though the pricing seems a bit high). Or what about the VW Atlas? It’s too bad the Lexus RX/RX-L has such polarizing styling- I feel like most people think it’s over the top. I like the XC90 a lot, though I assume that’s not your speed. If you really want to spend money, the LR Discovery 5 is pretty nice.

I wish Lexus would update the GX. Honestly I’d probably buy one aside from the fact the tech in them is 10+ years old. You can get autonomous safety features but it’s a $5000 special order on the top trim, making the cost close to $70k which is simply not worth it.

Not weird at all. I quite liked the smell of our 2IS and Mercs when we bought them. Having bought two Hondas with leather in them in the distant past, they didn't smell good. The Accord smelled nicer, but it had a burnt plastic/hair/acetone like smell that made my stomach turn after an hour's drive with the windows up. They were weekend cars, so windows down and fan blowing in the garage they went. Took about three months to offgas to a respectable level.

Though maybe I shouldn't comment considering I enjoy the smell of gas (petrol to our friends in other countries).

@elf69 You'd be hard pressed to find many fans of the Tiburon in this thread. It's one of the most stolen and expensive vehicles to insure (for that reason) in America. Though from a style point of view, I thought the last generation was better looking, and the Genesis Coupe "sports tourer" was the newer Tiburon.

The Tiburon is NOT one of the most stolen vehicles in the U.S. It doesn’t even make the most top 10 stolen cars in America based off NCIC and CIB reporting current/past results, which I actually have access to through Government access portals in my profession. The Honda civic and Accord in the late 90s was And still is the most stolen car in United States because the lack of security features that can be bypassed and or are nonexistent. One thing can be said about older model vehicles, is generally they all share the same type of uncomplicated anti-theft security features that require little experience to steal, which can use “Bump” keys to bypass the ignition. Not very difficult for an experienced booster.
[doublepost=1521965692][/doublepost]Completed and install today on the GT along with new Grill.

Also, switching to Lund Tune this week (Abandoning Bama), BBK throttle body install and GMS Coil Kit install.

And yet when I Google it out, it was one of the most stolen vehicles from the late 90s to the early 200s in both the US and Canada. And even shows up in old HLDI reports. Looking at NCIB hot wheel reports for the last six years, the majority of vehicles favored by thieves are recent models from the mid 2000s and onward, including cars with more complex anti-theft systems. The 1997 Camry remains a favorite, likely because it was built in such large numbers compared to other vehicles. At one point, the Integra was one of the most stolen vehicles in Canada and the US, sometimes topping the list, with the Accord and Camry following. Of course, if you look at reports these days, the Integra won't show up. Given that information, an insurer isn't likely to give you a cheap price per six month term because it was at one point stolen in record numbers, and insurance companies aren't ones to wipe historical data and start fresh. Especially when you look at boards for Honda enthusiasts and find that these older vehicles and newer ones are still stolen regularly and chopped up.

But, sure, let's go with your data. Point is, Accords and Civics will always top the charts until they're all junked. In the most stolen period, Honda produced nearly 3 million in combined vehicles. 2016 NCIB report states 7.5K Accords from 97 were stolen in the 2016 calendar year, and model date to 2016 stolen 97 Accords topped at 50.4K stolen. It doesn't change the fact that the Tiburon was listed as one of the most stolen vehicles in Canada and the US at one point, and doesn't stop insurance companies charging more.

In the same light, you could be in your 50s and have a clean driving record, good credit if your state allows checking of credit, and you'll see your premium increase even if you shop around because of the decisions of younger and stupid drivers getting tickets, running people over, fender benders or causing property damage.

I have no idea if you’re being facetious or not regarding your quote with “Let’s go with your data”, but I can tell you from my access points, the Hyundai Tiburon was NOT one of the most stolen cars in United States (Not that I have to prove otherwise based on a Google inquiry). {I won’t speak for Canada}. But I have access to circa- historical records in the last 20 years and it’s not even listed as one of the top vehicles at all United States through CIB, NCIC or even DOT Stolen portals/reports. The Tiburon doesn’t even rank in the top ten, the Elantra was at one point long ago.

Regardless, Honda and Toyota have been all time ranking stolen for reasons mentioned. California and Texas leading over any other state for most vehicles stolen.

So nothing then. Whatever. Enjoy your day, bud.

Yeah because who else would have expected the 2nd and 3rd largest states by size and the top two in population to not have high rates of stolen vehicles. 32M in California and 26M in Texas. With a sharp drop for New York. And that's likely counting legal citizens, not illegals.

I’m also tuning into the New York Auto show debuting soon. I really do have hope for the Rav 4. To me, I’m not sure why Toyota decided with their interior choices with hard plastics and its a very dated design both exterior and interior. But I think that’s where it needs the most work is interior wise, hopefully with a nice refresh on the outside. Also, Now that the 2019 Corolla hatchback has CarPlay, I’m also hoping they implement that into the RAV4 when it launches, which is very nice to have. But the Rav-4 has significant ground to catch the CRV.
