It’s crazy. We still haven’t got a build date for our Audi. It was a brand new model and by the time it will come it’s due a refresh 🤣

And sadly July will become October :(

Yup Ukraine is a big provider of automotive electrical rubber sleeves (I think I've got that correct), a lot of the charging cables for BEV are made in Ukraine.

It’s frustrating isn’t it. You make the decision, pay your deposit, then play the waiting game.

New 2023 Acura Integra looks interesting. Manuals outselling autos in preorder
It’s not over the top outlandish, but neutral enough where it doesn’t look dated either. It’s a pretty big car as it stands for a sedan.

Heard my delivery for April is more like June July now.
The i3 looks comical, given how small it is. (It makes me think of the ‘Smart Car’ here in N.A.) I’d consider the Model 3 or the ID.4 personally. Of course, everyone is different, but when cars are that small, it makes me think of those circus cars. Although, the i3 has decent build quality standards.

A lot of American cars look comical to europeans though because they are so big and over the top. It’s just what different cultures are used to. The i3 is in the supermini category here in Europe which is a common category on our roads and the i3 is no smaller than a Polo or Fiesta.

It really isn’t as small as a circus car, and one of the best EV for dense populated areas actually. Especially the current generation.

With interior space the TM3 doesn’t give you much more space actually. And as you acknowledge get much worse build quality and experience. Sure no way near as fast as a TM3 Performance model, but plenty compared to the rest of the range and what else is on the roads.

Definitely; generally very larger exterior space, but not replicated on the inside, terrible build quality, huge engines but very low performance, and they start crying when there is bend in the road. Very generalised they are very bad; yet I love them 🤣

I’m definitely more of a Scandi/German person followed closely by Korean. Yet the big brash loudness of some American cars just keep saying buy me to me 🤣

For me it’s a good environmental choice. I don’t need a huge car. There are only the 2 of us. Plus you know what they say about people with big cars! 🤭

Agree on the poor cornering and build quality with American cars. Never even considered buying one. They just aren’t for me. German quality is my preference. Then I’d go Asian. Then the bus. Then an American car!

Yes, that’s a good point about culture, given it’s different in various parts of the world with designs and traditions. Some of the larger vehicles, like GM has some terrible vehicles like the Equinox and Chevy Cruze. Most 4-Door larger sedans have been discontinued here in favor of cross-overs being the dominant trend.

This ‘Smart car’ that was in production years ago that I mentioned above, there’s still a few roaming around on the road around here:

We have the Ford Fiesta here in N.America. Fuel efficient and affordable, but lacks the power, leg room and overall reliability that Toyota or Honda would have:

I find the interior and features lacking when going that small to the entry level cars. I don’t mind a small car but then would still want the big luxury car feel and options to it. To us the Audi A3 with every option ticket can just about do that but sadly only offer a FWD drive train unless going for a (r)s3.

Peugeot nah, just don’t get it. Never with my own money.

I had a French car once. Renault 11. Massive cosworth type rear spoiler.
It was a wedding present from my Mum as I was living in London and couldn’t afford a car at the time.
Since then French cars have never had a lot of appeal. Cheaper feel inside.

There have been some wonderful innovations and successes over the years. The Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 and 405 Mi16 were amazing. I just think they every had a real hit or something special since. Similar with Citroen and Renault. Great heritage but nothing in recent years.

I have a Peugeot 3008, it’s been a brilliant car but it’s current generation so very German.

Look at the new Peugeots, the interiors are on par with BMW for build quality and materials used. They are made by the same company though. Older Peugeots had that stigma.

Being German, I’m sure you meant that as a compliment or another way of saying the design is maybe a little more conventional rather than over the top and won’t annoy you 5 years into ownership?

I’ve found French car design very uninspired for a long time personally and don’t miss them here in Canada since moving here.

It was meant as a compliment in terms of build quality and feel. In my experience German cars have been less reliable than French cars from the ones I have owned but German cars feel nicer to drive. Peugeot if anything are more daring with their design and definitely not ‘uninspired’. They couldn’t be accused of that by any stretch of the imagination lol these days. The likes of Citroen and Peugeot used to be cheap alternatives to the German marques but they now command similar money new and hold their value.
