i think the my ford touch is the bigger problem, not so much base sync.

Base sync in my mustang is phenomenal, and i hate to admit that about something coming from microsoft. works everytime, it will even recognize voice commands over full blast HVAC or windows down at 75 mph without shouting at it which is unreal.

i hate to say it but it's the best in car system ive ever had. does EXACTLY what i want it to, works how you expect it to - in other words, when you have a phone or ipod plugged into it, it works as if you are on the apple device, standing alone. Much more than could be said for the junk RNS-315 in my old VW, that thing had the most garbage song shuffle algorithm, and it would even reshuffle when hitting the back button instead of just going back through the songs in the order they played, plus it was slow as dog ****.

I have never owned a car with any of that stuff in it. I'm really looking forward to widespread CarPlay/Android Auto adoption. I'm excited to see some reviews.

Ask yourself this, If people demanded these features yet no auto maker provided them, would people stop buyin cars? No, they would take what they can get.
This argument has no merit here. Because automakers are providing them and people are buying them.

On the other hand, you're still driving a Daewoo with pink accents inside and non working airbags, so I'd say your opinion on the matter really doesn't matter, no?

Dog **** is slow? LOL

By all means pony up for the '13-'14 car, it's well worth it. MUCH nicer tail lights/rear end too.

OK tough guy, how about this :D

[Convertibles]
2015 GT Premium vs. 11/12 GT500?

'15 $3K-4K less than an '11, $7k-8K vs. a '12

2015/6th Gen
Newer
Indie rear
Better electronics and [much better] interior

2011/2012 5th Gen GT500
Shelby/Unique model variant
115 more HP that's [easily] tuned to 215 more (435 vs. 550 or 650-ish)

The newer one. The interior and electronics are really important for long term enjoyment, IMHO.

Did it ever occur to you people are buying them because that's the ONLY choice they have? you dont HAVE the option to just buy a stereo in a car even the basic trim levels have Infotainment systems.
It's RED not PINK perhaps you are colourblind.

There are plenty of cars without "complex" infotainment systems. Even basic stereos kiddo.

Simple google search has this information :)

On that note, if my dad can figure out these new systems within a few days and think they're useful, there is no reason for a young person like you to think they are complex. That's just nuts.

Name one, I have yet to see any. I aint tried using a infotainment system, just one more useless thing in a car to fail, just another distraction behind the wheel, as if we don't already have enough of those! It's no secret that stock sound systems are complete and utter garbage in sound quality anyways. For instance, The infotainment system on the 2014 RAV4 sounds horrid, the factory sound system in my Impala sounds better.

or you just buy a head unit with the features you want????????
Because they all look like aftermarket junk.

Sorry, I'm not buying a $85k Porsche Macan and putting in an aftermarket deck because you think the PCM system is a distraction or useless. No thanks.

Yeah! I'm waiting for CarPlay to go mainstream before buying my next car. It's a must have!

I'll agree with you completely. RNS315 is trash. Thankfully, MIB and MIB 2 are huge steps forward.

I think my issues with the base Sync systems come from the million different buttons on the dash of a Focus or Fiesta. It's just confusing. But of course, once you actually own the car, it becomes second nature.

Most people will say MMI or iDrive make no sense, but I know every menu inside out. You get used to it.

Easy.

Chrysler 200 without UConnect. The base head unit has no "infotainment" system at all.

Dodge Dart has the same unit as above without UConnect.

VW Jetta without NAV.

And stock sound systems are great, if you know what options to get. Toyota JBL, Lexus Mark Levinson, Audi/BMW Bang and Olufsen, Benz Bowers & Wilkins, Porsche Burmester, VW fender, Acura Krill/ELS, Mazda Bose and so on.

All top notch.

GM's with the BOSE system, The system sounds better without it actually, the Amp in GMs is a hamper on the sound system.

I don't even ...

- You said there were no simple audio systems in modern cars
- He proceeds to give you examples of such
- You reply about the amps in GM audio setups

I thought you said factory sound systems suck. Now you come with an example?

And why are we talking about amps now!?

....

So you are telling me This:

My buddy that just bought the C7 (see some post above by me), said the same thing, and funny enough, he's a huge fan of the 5th gen styling over the 6th gen. He just thinks the overall fit, finish, interior, etc., will ultimately make for a better driving experience ... even with a 100+ HP deficit :)

I started mulling this over - I think a big bold color like yellow or orange, eventually fitted with some GT350 wheels and spoiler would be _pretty_ hot.

Yes. Heck, at the very least, the top photo is from a clean car ...
