I decided I needed the 3g version so I've got some waiting to do. I will check the Apple store this weekend though. Congrats to all those who got theirs today!!

Instant alpha

Does anyone who has the device know if the keynote, and pages apps have instant alpha? They show an image of a giraffe with instant alpha, however, that might have simply been done on their mac and transferred over to the iPad.

I'm about two miles north of downtown Chicago and I just received my iPad; the UPS info was stuck on "destination scan" up until the point of delivery.

. . . so I won't be picking up the 64 gig iPad I reserved at the Mich. Ave store.

I was worried that 16GB was going to be too small, but it really isn't

If you downscale your music to 128kbps, then 16 GB is PLENTY

From what I understand it is, but you can only define one mail account if you use exchange.

You mean just one exchange on top of others like say MobileMe, Yahoo etc. (Like my iPhone)

Or you mean I can't have both my MobileMe and my work Exchange?

I dont have an ipad but i wouldnt put any music on it... ever. That is what my iphone is for. So yeah, I can see 16GB being more than enough.

HECK no. I like my music HQ. Anyway I went with 16GB because I am not going to be using it for my music. I still kind of wished I would have gone a little higer because I have 17Gb just in TV shows and also about 120 Music Videos. As far as movies go though, I realize I will not watch my entire library in one trip so when I am leaving for a trip I will just sync 2 or 3 that will last me.

I'm going to get the 16GB, too. By the time I fill it up, the next gen will be out and I can just buy a bigger size then. I'm in it for the apps though, not the media.

If you live in the UK by any chance, Apple prices are usually the same as in the USA, only with a £ symbol in front of them

I'm going to the US next week, back to UK April 27th. I don't mind picking some up for people with a little surcharge.. Perhaps the 3G will have come out by then

Got to the apple store in manhattan beach ca at 6:30 this morning and there were only 25 peeps in front of me. Out of the store at 9:55. Bought the 32 gig with the apple case. Smiles!!!
It's really nice!

Got my 6 iPads, one for me, 5 for my customers in Mexico.... they arrived at Laredo today... sadly I will see them until Tuesday, when I bring them into Mexico by then.

Will have to drool at screens for the next 3 days, I guess...

Because it goes to the fundamental use of the iPad. You need one hand to hold it and the other to operate it. As Yr Blues said, it may take some time to hear what users have to say.
