Instead of buying the expensive in-wall solution to add two USB power ports, I opted for one of these from Belkin:

FANTASTIC for traveling! How many times have you been in a hotel where you could barely find ONE available power outlet? Thanks to the Belkin adapter, I can power THREE 120v devices and TWO USB devices off a single power outlet.

Mark

I've got one of those too but I do not think the USB ports on it are powerful enough to send full voltage to the ipad.

Mail won't work

My email from gmail are not showing up on the mail app??!! Does anyone know what's wrong ?

You guys did just pay $500-plus, and almost every customer was guaranteed to be spending that much, so the least you should expect is some cheering and free coffee.

Apple really needs to tell the few people in the rest of the world what the price is going to be, looks like I'm going to have to wait till 'late April' before that happens.

If you live in the UK by any chance, Apple prices are usually the same as in the USA, only with a £ symbol in front of them :)

I'm with you bro, this is freaking awesome. I can type on this better than a keyboard.

Sweet mercy, thank you Apple.

Yay! I know you're relieved!

Still waiting here-live over in Parkside by Daffin Park...what area are you in?

Starting a new thread entitled
10 pm, still waiting and no sign of the Brown Truck LOL

Nah, I don't have mine either

First Impression, Thumbs Up!

I went to the Apple store around 9am. The line was long but was moving quickly. There were 2 lines. One for reservations that was moving quickly and one without reservations and they were letting 2 of them in for every 5 of us with reservations. By 10am, I had mobile me set up on my new iPad and was reading email. Of course the first message I saw was a below balance alert from my bank. I had 2 reservations. One for 64 gig and one for 16 gig. I asked about the file size of iWork and after finding out Pages and Numbers were both under 40 meg I decided to go for the 16 gig model. I also purchased AppleCare, the case and a dock. I will probably take the dock back.

I downloaded Kindle right away and resumed reading Lord of the Rings. It cost $13 in the Kindle store. I decided to download iBooks and check it out over there. Well I think iBooks is gonna kick Kindle's butt. iBooks appears to provide real page numbers, not those meaningless "position references" that Kindle provides.

Another point scored for iBooks. The free version of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare on Kindle has no table of contents. I paid $3 for the version with a TOC. On iBooks, the TOC is included in the free version. I really didn't expect Apple to outdo Kindle but they did. I'm glad I bought the iPad and I expect my future ebook purchases to be made via iBooks if it is true they provide physical page numbers instead of those awful position references you are stuck with on Kindle. Of course, I'll probably have both around for quite a while because I can read ebooks on my iPod Touch in the Kindle app and I won't always have my iPad with me.

I moved the movies and itunes icons off the home screen. That's not of interest to me. But I did install Pandora and Netflix. So for the first time since I got an iThing, maybe I'll actually use it to listen to music (via Pandora).

agree it was an amazing experience yet again at the apple store

even better treatment then during the iphone launch

its small details like these that make apple stand out

Just bought mine at Best Buy. Glad tethering to a jailbroken iPhone works. The wallpaper had me thinking the screen was scratched. Then I noticed that it was simply part of the wallpaper. Initial sync seemed to take a long time. But I guess it took a long time for the first sync with the iPhone. This device will make an excellent e-reader. iBookstore will be great. Still the lack of Flash makes it mediocre for web surfing. I didn't notice the little button on the side that locks the screen orientation. Thought my accelerometer was broken. My bad. Nice toy.

11:15AM in Pleasant Grove, Utah and no sign of Mr Brown! Grrrr! I'm 15 minutes from the hub and it left at 9am. I'm antsy :) Anyone in Utah have one?

You don't have it set up right.

I have it set up the same way on my iPhone and it works fine its kinda weird I know it worked for two reasons one when I set it up I got check marks showing that it went through and the other thing is that I have my hotmail set up under my gmail account and it detected it so I know it got accesss to my account

I'm in St. George, Utah. My status shows it leaving Salt Lake City at 8:14 a.m., but nothing after that. I'm not sure if I will get it today.

Syncing my 64 GB WiFi that just arrived... have a 36 GB iTunes library on my MBA and some photos, but hopefully will be done in about an hour. The thing feels awesome, nice and sturdy. Be back soon.

I skipped the initial big sync to play with it, but now I am syncing all of my stuff to it. Extremely impressed, especially with iBooks. I am going to be doing a ton of reading on this device.

Love it so far.

Is there any way in iTunes to sync ONLY iPad/Universal apps only? I organized it by date and selected all the ones I downloaded yesterday but it's still a pain.

Posted in the thread on shipment, but thought I would share my enthusiasm right now for being at work with iPad in hand a domain policy on the network that prevents installation of iTunes. This is what you get out of the box. I look so thrilled! LOL
