I think he meant he never encountered the MAJOR iOS 9 bug which left many people "Stranded" with a dead phone on the slide to upgrade screen

Other than some minor animation issues, iOS 9 is solid here and much better than iOS 8 ever was in my experience.

Since you base just about everything on fluidity, you'll most probably always be disappointed. I hope the next build brings you the perfection you seek, but I doubt it.

The difference between your experience and mine is because you encountered stability issues on iOS 8.I didnt. The entire system was rock solid with near ZERO crashes whatsoever which is why the difference of opinion arises because in your experience you traded off fluidity for stability but in my case there is no trade off, just compromise

So why doesn't it all then apply the same way for those who aren't experiencing the "lag" issues with iOS 9?

Those people just don't notice it or they used iOS 8 for a very short period of time.I had it on my Air 2 and iPhone 6 for nearly a year and it was WAY more fluid than iOS 9

so the conversation about whether or not control centre lags or STUTTERS if you look at it a certain way takes up 2 weeks of life.
We are talking about Apple rendering $700 iDevices obsolete via stutters so of course a large majority of realists would be angry

But you said it was also very solid and stable yet for many many people that certainly wasn't the case.

And we are back to hyperbolic extremes and absolutes of "obsolete" due to some visual stutters in some places?

20151201 experiment update :

it became buttery smooth until today. stutters and lag came back.

I just tried to do the same by signing out of iCloud without keeping any data in the phone then signed in again, as I did on 20151129.

as the final trial before concluding anything for my stutter and lag case...

20151203 update:

(this is for my particular case only)
- using habit unchanged with iPhone 6 and 6S. I still have iPhone 6 with me.

- super smooth for only about 2 days again

- stutters getting frequent randomly, including say during app closing, folder opening and closing [lag (delayed response) and frames dropping]

just wondering if this is hardware or software problems?

- I hv even changed for another 6S from apple shop already

- this is iPhone's first 3D Touch phone and first 2Gb ram phone. high ram should make multi app usage even smoother theoretically, but it is the contrary in my case.

- of course I understand that I am using 9.2 "beta", but the situation was similar when I was using official 9.1 in my 6S.

I sometimes wonder if there's something in the OS that sets off the lag. I swear that some days my iPhone is smooth sailing and other days it lags all over the place. Keep in mind, I don't use any third party apps.

Wait... isn't one of the big argument the Lag-ists have is that EVERYONE is experiencing lag/stutters, but some of us just can't see it or care about it? And, if I remember correctly, EVERYONE has lag/stutter because EVERYONE has the same hardware in their device. So, if one person has a 6S+ with lag/stutter, EVERYONE with a 6S+ has stutter.

How, then, can your experience with iOS 8 differ from anyone else's? Everyone with iOS 8.x.x should have had the same experience, right?

The difference is that Metal is an entirely new API released two years ago being compared with OpenGL that has had much more time to mature.

I mean..don't you prefer function over looks? I mean...it's not like iOS is about to enter in a fashion show.

Yes, which is why I have transparency off on my iPad Air 2. My 6S+ has no stutter issues that I notice, they ugh, so it has them activated. But some people like to complain.
