I'm a big Valve and Portal fan, so there are a slew of free ringtones and text tones from the game that you can download from Valve's site.
I use the Portal blue paint sound. (Lost on mere mortals unfamiliar with Portal 2.)
Somebody should upload some at wars ones. There's killer alert tones iTunes from star wars I just don't wanna spend $10 downloading them all
I've attached a few GlaDos Ringtones (Ring, SMS, Voicemail) as well as the Mutant Enemy "Grr Arg" from the end of buffy/angel etc if anyone would like them.
1) Find a sound
2) Upload to http://www.audiko.net or find another way to make an .m4r of it (same way you make an iPhone ringtone)
3) Import your new .m4r into iTunes, notice it shows up under ringtones
4) Sync
5) Pick the new ringtone as your new sound for ...well for whatever you want to use that sound for. I'm using cartoon015.wav for my SMS tone and I converted it with Audiko.
I need some help....I've created custom ringtones in the past, but it's been a few months. Trying to do a couple today and I can't get them to show up on my phone. They show up in Itunes in the ringtone section, and if I drag and drop them into the ringtone folder on my phone it looks like they are there. However, they don't show up in the sounds section of my phone. I am doing it the exact same way I've done in the past. The old ones that I made awhile back are still there, but not the new ones. Could this have anything to do with os5? Also, if I click the "sync ringtones" box in Itunes it gives me a message saying it will wipe out all my songs. Is this normal?
Anybody got anything from Despicable Me? Like the "WHAAAAAAAAT"
or of course "It's so fluffy".
Make sure they have the extension of m4r. I took a wav file yesterday, created an ACC version in iTunes, renamed from m4a to m4r and it synced right to my iPhone. I haven't tried any of my previous ringtones, but I'd safely assume they work.
As for syncing ringtones, just drag the tones you want to your phone, unless you want to erase and re-sync.
I've been messing with this for hours and searching every forum I could find and I just found the answer....for whatever reason the artist, album, year, etc all must be filled in for the ringtone to transfer to your phone. Makes no sense to me, but once I filled in those fields and dragged and dropped the ringtone onto my phone it finally worked. From what I was reading this has been a headache for a lot of people.
