Looks like the order status problem is fixed. I ordered my 13" air on the 4th and it shipped out today. I was having problems checking the order status the last couple of days but today it seems to be working.

They still haven't shipped mine, its becoming a joke now. They haven't even bothered to update the delivery date still says delivers 5th September.

Customer care told me that it would be shipped out today, fed up of their lies.

Just purchased one from the Apple online store, not sure how long it's gonna take for it to be received in Canada, hopefully not so long.

New Macbook Air owner!

So after 3 weeks of hitting the school library and using their computers, I've finally received my financial aid refund and I took the plunge and bought a Macbook Air.

The relief that I can dump some books, and pick up a couple pound machine is amazing.

I bought it this morning and it is a 13" 4GB 256GB with 1.8 i7. I thought, why not? This computer should last me, and with Apple Care I'm covered, safe and sound.

I bought it this morning, and chose expedited shipping. They said it will take 1-3 business days, and then the 2-3 day shipping. Anybody have any idea how these estimates hold up?

As a safety precaution I ordered the USB Ethernet adapter, and the super drive separately because I have heard of bundling them up makes shipping time longer. Eh, it was free shipping, so I don't mind.

Just wanted to introduce myself, and I can't wait!

Uh oh, little bit of trouble. An Apple rep just called me saying they can't ship to my dorm's PO Box and it has to be a physical one, so what they are doing is having it shipped to the nearest UPS store. Good thing it's only a couple of miles away!

Don't know what I was thinking - Wife Benefited

So guys, soon my wife will be here posting lost of questions getting fully into the OSX.

Roughly 14mths back I couldn't handle it anymore, working deskside support for years on Windows you tend to get a lot of complaints. Coming home and getting more complaints or need for cleaning the desktop WinXP machine, managing a small 80-500GB HDD (upgraded to the latter) every month was too much. Shortly after getting my MacBook I replaced the family PC with a 2009 Mac Mini. The kids "used it" mostly for surfing movie watching and downloading and my wife as well but it was grudgingly.

I then decided to go for the MacBook Collectors edition - Al_Unibody MacBook 2.4Ghz. Great machine and lasted me up until July. This was my personal machine and I loved it. I sold it when my wife left to work in Vancouver for 2.7weeks - the timing couldn't have been any worse because I was in transition to becoming incorporated and then as a direct contractor I HAD to wait 3wks before my next cheque. The pain ran so deep.

this brings us to today where I'll need to learn XCode and fast. My wife and I went to the Eaton's Apple store and I purchased MBA 13" starter ... got it home and I extracted Time Machine backup from a buggy installation on the Mini. She's up and running and I told her it was hers. So now I'm sitting here VERY VERY jealous and looking to purchase the MBA 11" Ultimate + external screen.

due to transaction limitations I cannot make a purchase until Monday ... however it'll be worth it. Then again maybe I should wait another 2-3weeks JUST to be sure I get the machine in this class that works best with Logic Xpress 9 & upcoming X.

After much trail and errors, I got one today.

I went from an ipad, to a samsung galaxy tab, to the macbook air I got today. SO Excited. I like both the tablets (I prefer the galaxy tab), but I really need a mobile work station and I'm sure the macbook air will do it! I'm excited!

Got the MacBook Air 11" and its amazing...

It's my primary computer. I use it everyday. When I am at work, I connect it to the external display. It works great. It is the 64GB SSD model and it suits my needs. I put all my Mac App DMG files on Dropbox and use it strictly for business and web design. The small screen does not bother me. I even use it to watch movies when I am not home and over at a friends house.

I got it for $460 CAD as my work paid $500 for it. So the total was $960 (no tax) with discount and Ontario recycling fee. I love it...I highly recommend the MacBook Air 11"...I steered away from the 13" because I heard of colour issues.

The 11" is my primary computer. Who else uses it as their primary?

I'm VERY interested in seeing:
1) Apple's next quarterly results of Mac's sold ~ especially if they highlight the Air lineup as a significant sales boost, and,
2) Upcoming MacBook Pro lineup with SSD, no ODD (Optical Disk Drive), and with the 13" finally having a dedicated video card option like the 15/17".

It's possible with the 13" MBA getting specific bump into the Pro lineup when their due for an upgrade in the following:

13" MBA = MBP with Corei7 1.8Ghz minimum,
13" MBA Ultimate = MBP with Corei7 QuadCore option, at 2.4Ghz minimum. Just perfect to justify a $400-500 increase especially with no dedicated GPU IF, and IF the Intel 3000HD is replaced with something much better. Then the 15"/17" get mSATA SSD with dedicated GPU, 17" getting specific RAID SSD option.

Hey guys, I also joined the club recently - first Mac and it's a 13'' 256gb SSD.
This thing is a beast and I am absolutely loving it so far.

I got it from the UK although I am at the Netherlands at the moment for my MSc.
Do you know where I can get an EU plug instead of the UK one for the Magsafe adapter?
Now I have a plug converter (UK->EU), but this thing is too bulky.
I found some adapters on eBay but I asked the sellers and they told me that they are not compatible with the 2011 MBA magsafe adapter :/.

UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request.

I received 3 separate emails with 3 separate tracking numbers all within about an hour for my Air, Printer and $100 Gift Card. Not that unusual. However UPS tracking # for the Air shows: "UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later." while the others at least show that a shipping label has been printed. Anything to worry about? I has bee that way for most of the day today. And of course you can't email their Shipping department (ridiculous, IMHO). Thoughts?

EDIT: Never mind - the tracking info finally showed up. I guess this is relatively common. I still stand my belief that 1) A huge shipping company should have the ability to update status better or at least give you a more informative message 2) I huge computer company that supposedly prides itself on customer service shouldn't give you a tracking number until it's actually useful and 3) said huge computer company should have the ability to respond to email or at least have their online chat people able to explain what that message means since it obviously happens all the time. High standards: I has 'em. Go ahead and flame away telling me my expectations are unreasonable.....

13" MBA Ultimate 1.8Ghz i7 ... is now MINE! I'm so giddy I'm afraid to do anything with it. I keep thinking its fragile. 7 seconds from full powered off, enter password, logged in, to launch Safari to boot on wlan to homepage (standard).

I thought I was sleeping when I witnessed it. It's iPhone 4 quick!!

Wife has 13"MBA 1.7Ghz i5 with 128GB SSD; she's sooo happy.

I'm soooo broke right now. Next week Friday I'm back again to the Eaton Centre store to get AppleCarex2 + 2011 SuperMacMini with ATI card. Christmas is early this year.
