noooooooooo New 128GB i5 9 Beeps
Just got my new i5 Macbook Air 128 and the SSD is Samsung
Downside it has the 9 loud beeps of death (S.O.S.) not on battery
Frist Brand New Mac I have bought in 20 years and I feel bad.
Bought in the US and I live in Finland so will see what the store says whether I can get it repaired, ask for a new one or what.
It works fine and is one lovely machine when it does boot up after a few attempts.
Edit: Just got off the phone to Apple Support and it seems to have been fixed .. used the hard power reset keep 'shift-control-alt' pressed and then power on and seems to do nothing. But when it powered on was perfect both from sleep and shutdown

I just ordered a 13" MBA, i5 128GB SSD. Estimated delivery date October 6th.
With the keyboard and warranty issues, and the exchange rate rising a bit the last week, I decided it was not worth it to buy it in the US and therefore ordered from apple.no. But will probably get some accessories in NYC (sleeve, external hard drive, display port to VGA adapter) as that is a bit cheaper. Really looking forward to it, it will be my first Mac, coming from a broken-down 15,4" Lenovo ThinkPad T61...

Wow, the SSD is the killer i was hoping it would be. really well made as you would expect from Apple, and i can actually use the trackpad even though i don't usually like them.

If you ordered a standard MBA without changing CPU, HD or Ram. The predicted delivery should be right. Any maybe +/- 2 days.
I ordered my MBA with i7 last friday. It was shipped 2 days ago and it will be delivered on 5th october. I hope it's coming earlier. I really don't understand why it would take so long. I guess they shipped it by airplane and not by a container ship

First Apple Computer!
I just purchased my first Apple computer - the MBA! I've already used the forum for advice on which computer is best for me, so thanks everyone for your contributions. The active member communities is one reason I decided to finally take the plunge and try out an Apple computer. So far I've owned an iPad and iPods and hopefully will like this computer just as well!

Wow, I ordered 10 days ago. It's still on the way from China to Germany. In Germany they will put together the MBA with the student coupon. Then they finally send it to my address. This will take about 3 weeks altogether. Other companies are faster, but they produce their computers in eastern europe (e.g. Dell).
I guess you got a BTO. My old BTO MBP took about 2 weeks from China. My Standard 13' has been shipped from the Czech Republic and will be here tomorrow according to UPS (ordered on Thursday evening).
Got mine today. Love it so much. Bad news though, I got LG and Toshiba
Oh well, such is life.
It doesn't matter what you get. What matters is if you like what you have infront of you.
I got LG and Toshiba too and I really can't tell the difference between my friends double samsung, in fact he thinks the display on my MBA is better but I honestly cannot tell with my naked eye.
Picked up a 13" Ultimate for the wife last week and an 11" i5 128GB for myself at the same time, all with Apple Care.
I'm very happy with the 11" even with a Toshiba SSD, haven't checked the screen. The wife's 13" is a Samsung SSD, haven't checked the screen, she is happy with her MBA as well, so far no issues with either, battery life on the 11" is quite good actually, haven't timed it but for general no-flash web browsing it seems great. The 13" hasn't been run through its paces yet.
Got a couple of knomo bags, well a black bag for the 13" and a leather case for the 11". Both top quality and very well put together.
Overall happy to be a part of the MBA family.
