I've been tempted by the 11inch MacBook Air for some time now - luckily we don't have an Apple store in the city where I live. However, I'm in Atlanta on business this week and the wife asked me to pick up some facial cleanser from the Lenox mall and what do you know I walk out with a nice shiny new MacBook Air! :D Might be the last time she sends me to the mall. Have to say this is one sweet little machine, so much better than the old CoreDuo iMac I've been using at home.

I've had my open box base 2011 13" air 4gb/128gb for almost 2weeks now. The main reason I even considered these was because of a thread on slickdeals...that and playing with it everytime I passed the apple store at the mall. For me it was breaking the $1000 barrier (I paid $900), great battery life, instant speed of the SSD, and of course the usual aesthetic reasons lol. I suppose it helped that I picked up a white 4S just weeks before.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Apple Airport Express Gen5 and the Superdrive DVD/CD for it. I can't wait to receive my Air! I am definitely going to order the Apple Care Warranty before the original warranty expires.

New 13in Air, all mine!

I took advantage of the $200 off at BestBuy and bought a base 13in Air. So far, loving it.

I removed iLife since I don't use it and copied over the Apps I do use from the Apps store.

Again, Loving it!

I have bought my macbook pro in 2008 from the refurb store.
I'm still working with it. More over i have got a surprise when i got it.
I asked for a 120GB Hard drive and i got 200GB.
And 2GB of RAM, i got 4GB.

The refurb is more more interesting than any other store to get the best deal

Came home a few hours ago with the 13/256/4/i5 model. Opted not to get the i7 because I heard it won't really make a huge difference, especially for my needs. Can anyone speak on this?

is it okay to say I love it ?

FedEx brought my new air a couple hours ago, it is registered and now busily migrating stuff from my pc. The Air is a beautiful computer' so thin and light,I love the track pad, love how small the power adaptor is and the screen is just lovely. Now to try and learn Lion, get some goodies from the Mac app store :D

It will spoil you rotten.

A few days ago I got out my Lenovo T420 (work machine that the Air replaced - fairly comparable specs) to remove some files and install some updates. I had the T420 sitting on the table next to the Air. It was almost comical seeing the difference in finish and of course the size of the units (both 13").

Yes that's ok especially if you truly mean you're switching from a PC to it because that is an extreme difference from worst possible to best possible.. have fun!

Had mine for months and I still LOVE it. I hate using any other laptop. My wife's 13" MBP feels ancient and heavy compared to this sexy little beast.

I am sort of an equal opportunity hardware addict :) I have run some really fine pc systems, finding something new to love just adds to my geek joy. So far I am quite impressed with Apple. :D

There are a couple of good books that might be useful that I liked. One is Mac OS X Lion for Dummies by Bob Levitus. The other one ( seems even better but not so motivated to read it 3 months later ) is Lion OS X The Missing Manual.

Have fun!
